We walked by Too Cool, spotted a wall of anime merch, and immediately lost all sense of direction.... You know that moment when you're just "taking a quick look" and suddenly 30 minutes have disappeared? Yeah... that happened!! This place is packed with anime goodies, collectibles, plushies, figures, keychains, Manga, and enough merch to make any anime fan's wallet start sweating. Every few steps there was another "Ooooh, look at this!" moment followed by "No, seriously, come look at THIS one!!!!" Just be warned: what starts as a casual walk-by can quickly turn into an unexpected side quest!! Japanese culture is the name of the game here. Yeah, you can buy most of this stuff for cheaper on-line, but where is the fun in being able to shop with your hands for all the plushies and collectibles available. They do a nice job of organizing here, and can spend a bit of time just browsing. read more

This place is awesome!!! I'm not from the area so I walked in to check it out. I wasn't expecting anything but man this place is packed with awesome stuff! Lots of anime stuff and figures. I found a figure I had been looking for forever and I found it here! The girl upfront was very helpful and helped me look for other figures that were older so I wasn't surprised they didn't have but I had to try! Anyways beware though! If your not careful you can easily spend lots of money from all the cool stuff they have! Highly recommend. read more

Avoid this place if you rent a cart. They expected us to leave our cart outside the store to shop there. They also have a minimum purchase to use a card. Checked amazon prices while there, and Amazon beat them each time. Not worth it, just buy stuff online. read more

Today I went to this store to look around and see what was in stock, as per usual. This is the kind of store where one would go to browse, look around, and maybe eventually find something that is worth buying. Essentially, it is not the type of store where you'd go, get an item, and get out. In past visits, I have always felt uncomfortable due to the staff always keeping a keep eye on you from the moment you step in. However, this particular visit, taking place Dec. 17th, 2013 by far took the cake. After looking around with my boyfriend, I managed to find an item that caught my eye, however since it did not have a price to it, I asked for assistance in getting one. The employee said she did not know and would have to ask her superior for help. Upon doing so, they seemed to be discussing something, which I could not understand due to it being in a foreign language. I dismissed it thinking they were simply arguing as to what the price to the item was. When the older woman walked away, she walked past us for a split second, than quickly turned around, snatched the bag my boyfriend was carrying, and looked inside without asking. We did not know how to react or think at first, but after the initial shock had passed, I asked her if there was a problem. She looked at me and claimed that he had seen him supposedly opening and closing the bag like a madman, and therefore was entitled to believe that he had stolen something from her store. After he offered her to let her look inside to prove his innocence (to which I did not agree to, and would have much rather security or anyone else with actual authority to have done the job), he explained that there was no possible way that he could be acting in such a manner since he was holding the bag with one hand and talking on the phone with his other. He does admit to twisting and un-twisting the bag, but anything beyond that would be physically impossible for him to execute with just one free hand. After confirming his innocence, she proceeded to bow and apologize repeatedly, saying that she had to act the way she did because he made her do it. The way she acted was uncalled for and completely professional. It's shocking to me that anyone running a business would ever feel it's okay to treat customers like criminals, or that it's fine to go ahead and disregard any personal privacy without at least asking for permission. I will give credit to the other employee on the clock for being an amazing sweetheart and offering an utmost sincere apology for the fiasco that occurred. She told me to take no offense, that it apparently was a common occurrence and that she herself gets scolded for not being watchful enough. If security is really such a priority, than investing in some cameras, or having a bag check should be an option. There are many ways to avoid theft that do not involve snatching your potential customer's belongings away due to your own paranoia. I do not ever want to go into a store worried that I may be harassed in such a way again. Do not shop here unless you want to leave feeling like you did something wrong. It was a terrible experience, and it's really sad to hear that it's something that happens so often. Too Cool? More like Not Cool at all. read more

A cool store for sure by sadly everything is over priced. Like 10 to 50 percent higher than you'd find online. Take the figuarts action figures they have. They are around 45 on Amazon. Or sites like Anime island which I personally love. Here they are 65 bucks or more. Every thing I looked at was cheaper online. Ok not everything. They had some cosplay swords that were about the same price as they are online, but that was the only thing I saw that was on par with the Internet. Sadly brick and mortar stores just can't compete with the likes of Amazon and eBay. read more
