Imagine that your girlfriend is a professional hairdresser yet for some reason you always end up having to go to a salon and pay actual money for a hair cut. Disgusting! That's my situation at the moment. If I had to wait for her to pick up her scissors for me I'd resemble It from the Addams Family. This was the main reason I ventured out of my cave to Tony's salon.
Tony's place is directly across the road from my building so it was an easy choice. The closer I got the better things appeared. I couldn't really see inside because of the tinted windows but my eyes were attracted to something else, the rates. $120 for a hair cut, nice! It's the sort of price where you think, ok it's not that low that they'd use garden shears, it's just high enough to be considered comforting. And comforting it was. It seemed clean and organised enough, and well maintained.
The hairdresser paid attention to my detailed instructions for the most part, cutting the sides a little to short in the end - it'll grow back a friend consoled - but the top was trimmed to perfection. I forgot to ask whether it was Tony who was cutting my hair, I'll be sure to find out next time.
While the cutting took place we managed to have a decent conversation about many things, always a bonus in any salon. I feel even if the haircut is not the best, if the hairdresser is funny enough to make me laugh she/he can always blame me for moving - that would be my fall back anyway. read more
