My Cantonese is absolutely horrible but he got the point! I colored my hair to a red brownish color balayage style. The basic package was $100 HKD cheaper but I opted for the Goldwell package which was roughly $500 HKD. I remember paying roughly $60 USD which was super cheap compared to getting it done at the states. They also accept credit card!!! Most places in Hong Kong use cash but in the states, we love our cards so this place makes it convenient! It took roughly 3-4 hours getting my hair done and my butt was flatter by the end of it. BUT it was so worth it because my hair was in good hands! My friend also came with me and she got the basic package. She said it was her favorite place to go thus she brought me along. Passing along this recommendation, I would highly recommend coming here if you want to color and cut your hair! :)

Still using the Kim Robinson signature brush and endorsing the organic products, it was a good Kim Robinson experience. Clearly color is quite popular in this brand, although I only got a haircut today. I am new to the area and was badly in need of a haircut. I made an appointment for someone with their top level Artistic Team ($600HKD+). Keven Leung was my stylist and had his hands full today, because my cut was grown out and my ends were in bad shape. Keven was great. He spent some time with me and talked about my hair and took his expertise, with my limited requirements, and I walked out with a great cut. I mean a really great cut. My haircut was indeed $600HKD, plus I tipped additionally out the stylist (10%) and the guy who washed my hair ($4oHKD). Staff was friendly, from the lady who sat me down to the receptionist at the desk. I was happy with my experience and thought my cut was a good value compared to what I am use to paying in Las Vegas and felt they were appreciative of my business.

After 5 years spent in Hong Kong I had yet to find a stylist who actually spent the time to listen to what I wanted (and especially for those times when I had no idea what I wanted!) and genuinely cared how much he had managed to create the look I wanted. The washes pre-cut were also never rushed and even though each time I had a different guy, the service was consistently impeccable. The experiences I've had so far were definitely above the standard of all the other salons I've been to, from local salons to even the high-end ones I ended up paying $600HKD+ at. I paid $450HKD per visit here, and haven't been disappointed once. I have not looked back and am pretty ecstatic to say I've found my stylist in Hong Kong!

The person I had gave me the world's worst layers in the front that were cut parallel to the floor at different levels -- they ended up looking like stairs. It was so jaggedy and they tried to convince me that the slant was 45 degrees. I also requested to have NO thinning. In the end, the second hairdresser who came to fix the cut had to thin out my hair to make the gradients look somewhat normal, which i very much dislike but knew had to be done to make the jagged stairs i had in my hair look better. I've never had any problem getting a straight cut/trim at any salon in my lifetime, but this place was awful.

While I enjoyed the long hair, I don't think my friends enjoyed as much when I came back to HK. My friend has been almost begging me to have a haircut, so I gave in, but on a condition that I could keep the hair and send them to NGO to make wigs for children suffering cancers. He then recommended his friend right next to him, Yoko, and she was happy to make that happen. Never in my life I'd think I could let a Japanese girl to handle my hair. But it was a breeze in the air. Location was pretty easy to access, right opposite to Fringe Club. You would be greeted by the staff, and they would offer you beverages. I almost felt bad getting white wine (in the middle of Tuesday afternoons?) so I went for the coffee. But it's entirely up to you, no one would judge... The hair washing and massaging was so comfortable I often fell asleep, that might give you a hint how good it was. While Yoko is coming from Japan she speaks perfect English. Most of the hairstylists have one single problem: they do it their way instead of the way they are told to do. Like if I ask to trim "a bit", they will go and trim an inch. The good thing about Yoko is she never does that, never goes over, and always does the exact right length or right style you ask for. And on top, while I'm a perfectly nice guy (HAHA), my hair isn't so. They are really hard to handle. I know a lot of guys would just pay $100 for a speed haircut, but I'd pay more to get it right. At one point I had two haircuts in the same day because the the first stylist screwed up so badly. I have no idea how Yoko handles it well from the very first time, but now I find the right one and I'm most probably not gonna switch to another one in a long time. Heads up though, Yoko is the boss and tends to be very busy, so use their online booking thingy to make it easier.
