I'm writing a comment on this particular store for a reason- this is the only place where, amongst…read moreall the other outlets of QB, I would trust their people with my hair. Now as you can see I'm not the fussy type- for that I would have gone to the Landmark and found somewhere with a four figure price tag. QB is known to be quick, clean and most of all- cheap. Let me get the downsides dealt with first- its cheap because you don't get much in way of service (no shampoo- you just go in and they will cut it as is) and there isn't so much an old magazine lying about. Instead, you are made to wait and queue like sheep being sheared; a traffic light is outside to show how long the wait is. Why is it so good then? That's because with most of my experience the people at QB, though the advertisement likes to tell you that they are all well trained; the fact is that the quality varies with the person as much as the weather on any certain day. Here though, everyone that I have been in touch with has done a great job and maybe they are just used to cutting hair for men who didn't care too much. However, given the queues that form outside the shop I am quite confident that these guys know their....skills. I would once again warn anybody coming here: this is not your usual barber shop with a shampoo, wrinkly magazines and dry banter. This shop does exactly what is saids which is you get a 10 minute haircut for 60HKD and that's that. But if you really think about it though, for most people that is, unless you really like the smell of perming solutions then its a great solution to sorting something out quickly and on the cheap!

Imagine that your girlfriend is a professional hairdresser yet for some reason you always end up…read morehaving to go to a salon and pay actual money for a hair cut. Disgusting! That's my situation at the moment. If I had to wait for her to pick up her scissors for me I'd resemble It from the Addams Family. This was the main reason I ventured out of my cave to Tony's salon. Tony's place is directly across the road from my building so it was an easy choice. The closer I got the better things appeared. I couldn't really see inside because of the tinted windows but my eyes were attracted to something else, the rates. $120 for a hair cut, nice! It's the sort of price where you think, ok it's not that low that they'd use garden shears, it's just high enough to be considered comforting. And comforting it was. It seemed clean and organised enough, and well maintained. The hairdresser paid attention to my detailed instructions for the most part, cutting the sides a little to short in the end - it'll grow back a friend consoled - but the top was trimmed to perfection. I forgot to ask whether it was Tony who was cutting my hair, I'll be sure to find out next time. While the cutting took place we managed to have a decent conversation about many things, always a bonus in any salon. I feel even if the haircut is not the best, if the hairdresser is funny enough to make me laugh she/he can always blame me for moving - that would be my fall back anyway.
