Ever since I visited NYC for the first time earlier this year, I've been on the hunt for the perfect pizza slice; a place where I can enjoy the perfect flaky crust, balanced proportions of sauce, cheese, and toppings, and a flavor that is unforgettable. Well, I can safely say that Tony's Pizzeria has ended my search in Central Texas! I first heard about Tony's through Yelp's recommendation, and my wife and I decided to give it a try. Located in west Killeen, Tony's is easy to reach with a simple turn off of Elm's road. It is within a plaza, and the sign simply reads: PIZZA. Hours are located on the door, and you can find the name "Tony's" plastered on the windows. I walked in, and the slightly hazed interior with employees that gazed at me with the intensity of a NY stare let me know I made an excellent choice. I was welcomed in, and my food was ready upon entry. They thanked me for being a customer, and hoped to see me again. We got the meat lover's 16" pizza, and it was amazing! The flavor was rich, the meat was not overpowering the cheese to sauce ratio, and the crust was so flaky and sweet it felt as if a caring mother made it. Order this weekend on door dash, I've had the majority of the "new york style" pizza in the Killeen area and this may be my favorite. They weren't stingy with their toppings (unlike other local establishments, where I have to ask for extra cheese just for it to have as much as Tonys did). So far our favorite pizza in Killeen. Generous toppings, and every pizza has been cooked perfectly.

Service was good. Took a little long to make two pizzas than I would've expected. The food was not very good. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, white pizza with chicken, and garlic cheese toast. On the white pizza chicken was not edible, the crust was under cooked, it was overloaded with cheese and no flavor. The pepperoni pizza was also under cooked didn't have much pepperoni on it and very greasy. The garlic cheese toast was decent, over salted though. I am a bit upset I spent $60 on two 14" pizzas and garlic cheese toast and to say it was subpar is being generous. The restaurant itself looked like a stripped domino's pizza very bland but clean for Killeen. read more

Everything is either waaaay too salty or way too sweet. Their sauce for the ravioli is oddly sweet and tastes like it comes from a can. Their stuffed pizza is not cooked enough and is still raw. Overall it's a pass. read more

This is hands down the best NY style pizza in Killeen proper. If you like old style thin chewy NY crust, there's no better place than Tony's. Very accessible, lots of parking. Now, it's not fancy. Basically, it's pizza , calzones, and Stromboli. No salad bar, no desserts, this ain't Cici's. But it is great pizza. One small, 14" pizza will feed four people. And the garlic cheesy French bread is fantastic with chunky homemade pasta sauce. Delicious. read more

Very nice place, resembles a NY pizzeria. Kind of tucked away on Elms Rd. I chatted with Tony. Friendly guy who takes pride in his work. I would give him 5 stars, but I didn't care for they he builds his calzone. I guess I expected a fresh dough but the crust was pre made. Not an issue and he explained his method when I asked about it. However, when we got home and dug into our calzone and Stromboli we were more than satisfied. I am looking forward to trying one of his pizza's were he does make everything from scratch. We will be back soon. read more

I'm going to come back and say that after today, Tony's is my only pizza place in Killeen. My wife had placed a phone order for pick up and when I went to pick it up 30 minutes later, it wasn't ready. I had an appointment somewhere, so I was a little upset, but I had no problem sitting and waiting since my wife really wanted pizza. I was headed back out and the owner/manager I believe, heard me grumbling as I went to shut the car off. Once my order is ready, I go to pick it up and not only did he have my pizza for me, but he had a slice of cake on top as well as $20( I had paid by card before he came back in). He apologized for the mistake and as I insisted he take the money back, he refused. We went back-and-forth a bit, but I took the money and told him he would definitely get it back plus some. So, if you're looking for a New York style pizza joint here in Killeen or pizza place for that matter, Tony's is it! read more

Good pizza!! The cheese and pepperoni pizzas i totally love!! Flexible crust, foldable with a nice crunch to the outer crust. Only downfall was the veggies on the vegetarian pizza were cut too large and forbid i say there was too much topping ?? He either needs to cut back a little on the toppings or make that crust a rad thicker to hold up to the veggies. All in all though? Amazing food and amazing service!! We will be back!!!! read more

Well, I was excited to try the pizza here, as NY Pizza was the king of Killeen. I was hoping that Tony's would compare to NY's product. But I didn't get the chance to try them because they do share one BAD thing with NY Pizza... THEY DON'T ANSWER THE DAMNED PHONE! After several rings it goes STRAIGHT TO VOICEMAIL. A great find in Killeen for pizza by the slice. They have a robust menu with full pies. Today I was looking for 2 slices. I ordered a slice of pepperoni that had just come out of the oven. It was everything it was supposed to be, but I also ordered a slice of Supreme. The guy in the back (maybe Tony) asks if I want jalapeños on the Supreme as he piles ingredients fresh on my slice. I thought and said yes, yes I would like jalapeños. Correct choice! The Supreme was perfect and exactly what I was craving and I didn't even know I needed the jalapeños. I wouldn't even bother giving a review about just bad food- BUT if you're going to be rude to me? Sure why not. 1, the guy who works here literally turned his back to me and left the register because I *didn't tip on a carryout pizza* Who tips on carryout?? Didn't ask if I wanted extra red peppers, nothing. I had to grab my own receipt and didn't even hear a 'thank you' or 'have a nice day'. 2, this was possibly the worst pizza I've ever had from a pizza place. It was suuuuper salty, like loads of salt got dumped on it to try to cover up how flavorless and bad it was. The sausage didn't even taste Italian; it actually just seemed like crumbled breakfast sausage. The crust tasted about the same as you'd get from a frozen pizza at home. 3, this was part of a nice gift for father's day and my dad was so disappointed. He likes a good slice of New York style pizza and this was NOT it. Whole family thought it was gross. Conclusion: Just an overall bad experience. Salty attitude, salty pizza. read more
