His response email asked for many details, all of which were crucial to providing as much detail as possible so he could have an accurate picture of what the situation was. He called the next morning and provided an extremely long and detailed phone consultation on our very first phone call. His confidence in his knowledge and ability really brought some peace of mind and comfort in a time when I was a frantic mess. I went from thinking my dog could be anywhere in the world to realizing that he was very likely in the exact same place he had last been seen. Unfortunately that place was a MASSIVE industrial complex with thousands of hiding places. I went from sobbing in the car, too overwhelmed to move, to action-plan-oriented with concrete steps to put into motion. His method was counterintuitive to everything that came naturally. I wanted to tear that construction yard apart while calling Huxley, but he made it clear that not only was that a complete waste of energy, it would drive him deeper into hiding. I REALLY want to emphasize following Harry's instruction, even if it feels counterintuitive. I scoured the web for tips to find Huxley and nowhere did I find the information Harry provided that got our baby home. I was fully prepared to hire him and his dogs for their tracking services, but his consult alone provided me with the strategy to find Huxley. After Huxley was first spotted by a construction worker who had called my number from the flier, I had no idea what to do. My heart was pounding and I just wanted my dog back. I texted Harry and he called immediately with next steps, even sending me the Spanish translations to ask the workers to stop yelling and chasing. I truly believe that had I not contacted Mr. Oakes, we would not have our Huxley back home and safe. I can't recommend him more highly. Call him, fill out the questionnaire, trust the process. I'm glad I did.

This time the door was cracked and I could hear my dog letting out these horrible cries multiple times. I look in the window and the man is restraining my dog, while the lady is dremeling his nails even though he is crying. I stopped the whole process, paid and left. I've taken my dogs to multiple places and they have never cried or howled. She tried to tell me this was normal, but I know it's not normal behavior for my dogs. There should be a pause or a stopping point if the dog seems distressed or in pain and I never saw them do that despite me telling her beforehand that his front nail is cracked and could be sensitive. I'm never coming back.

I have high standards for care and have been very happy with the care and services we've received as client/patients. My girl is uncooperative at best for nail trims and our regular technician and doctor have her system down pat and she loves coming in to see her friends, she never hesitates when we come in which is amazing for her. It can be a little frustrating at times when appointments aren't available, but that is what urgent care facilities are for and I'm glad Mtn View Vet is booked and busy.

We have been taking our dog to Mountain View for some time, and until recently we trusted that he…read morewas in good hands. That trust has been badly shaken by how his recent, very serious health situation was handled. Our pup has had mild regurgitation issues since he came to live with us, but last Thursday night his symptoms suddenly became much worse. We took him to the ER, where they prescribed sucralfate and recommended an ultrasound. The next morning, we called Mountain View for guidance, and they suggested we take him to DoveLewis in Portland. DoveLewis performed x-rays and an ultrasound and diagnosed him with megaesophagus, which is a life-threatening condition. They prescribed Metoclopramide and told us to get him in with an internal medicine specialist as soon as possible. The soonest appointment we could get with their internal medicine specialist was December 2, and DoveLewis only provided one week of medication. First thing Friday morning, we called Mountain View to ask for a prescription refill to bridge the gap until his specialist appointment. We were initially told this would not be a problem, but that the vet was in a procedure and they would call us back. We waited all day, only to be told at the end of the day that they had called around to various compounding pharmacies, couldn't find the medication, and that we should take him back to the DoveLewis ER for a refill. On our own, we called compounding pharmacies and quickly found the medication in stock locally, as well as available through Chewy. When we called Mountain View back on Monday morning and asked them simply to approve the Chewy request, we were then told they could not write a prescription without seeing him first. To be clear: Mountain View knew he had just been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition by a specialty ER. They knew he had already been examined, had x-rays and an ultrasound, and had been prescribed the medication by DoveLewis. They knew we were trying to avoid a lapse in medication before he could see an internal medicine specialist. Despite all of this, they chose not to help us secure a necessary medication, and we were left feeling that our dog's safety was not a priority to them. Megaesophagus is not a minor issue--a lapse in his medication could have very serious consequences. I was (and still am) outraged by how uncaring and unsympathetic the response from Mountain View's staff felt in such a critical moment. I completely understand that clinics have policies and limitations. However, compassion, clear communication, and a genuine effort to problem-solve for a medically fragile dog were all missing from our experience. Based on how this situation was handled, we no longer feel comfortable trusting Mountain View with his care.

I have been going to this clinic since Dr. Garfield owned it. It has been more than 25 years that I…read morehave brought all my animals for care to this veterinary. Unfortunately, I received a message from MADISON this morning stating that we have one strike against us because we called in to cancel an appointment when their business was closed. Our appointment line landed on a Monday and this is after the New Year's holiday and most places are closed. We tried to explain that my son has traumatic brain injury, and I was not feeling very well, but she was very unsympathetic and let us know that it's still one strike , and the next one we will have to pay for the visit in full, and then the third strike would be not being able to come to this veterinary clinic anymore for care I understand many establishments having policies for cancellation, and if I knew that they had one, I would definitely followed the rules. I was never told that we would have a strike against us. and I was also not told that you have three times before you're not able to come to this veterinary clinic anymore. I find it quite disappointing that a receptionist can arbitrarily make a decision for a family that has gone to this clinic that we have been going to longer than she's worked there. We personally know Dr. Polly and we were close to Dr. Garfield. That's the relationship that you have with people that stay loyal to you. You don't be rude to them and uncaring. I have always loved going to salmon Creek Vet, but this definitely has changed my mind and my opinion when people ask me where they should go. If there are policies, then you need to explain them to the customers before hand, not after. And this is not our first interaction with Madison. She has been rude before, and we just kindly smiled paid for what we needed to do and left. We thought that she was having a bad day, but it's obvious that not the case.
