It's set to Hip Hop/Rap videos non stop. Yes, I know, I know, I'm old and I just don't "Get It." Well one of the problems, as I see it, with those videos is there are usually a dozen scantily dressed women on some yacht twerking and showing all their goodies. Not as if I don't enjoy looking at women's goodies from time to time, but one time I had my 7-year-old daughter with me. In addition, another guy had his even younger sons in there getting a trim. Call me "Reserved," but I just don't think that's appropriate for youngens to stare at. Why can't they just tune it to ESPN "The Ocho," for some good ol' dodge ball or something? Maybe the sportsman channel for some competition bass fishing? There definitely are other TV options they could tune to. But hey, it's their joint right? I tried going to a less expensive place to get a cut and they mangled it even further and still did not remove all of the broken ends, so it was continuing to get shorter. I decided to look up who was one of the best in the area and, even though this salon is over 40 min from my house, I'm SO glad I did! It was worth every penny and driving time. I walked in afraid to touch my hair it was so fragile, hiding what used to be fairly long hair by pulling it gently back and just generally not prepared to meet the world at a time that I very much need to look polished. I told him to cut off all of the fried things and then see what style he could create out of it. He is a true artist and very meticulous. He had a vision right away of a modern style that would work and look fantastic. He took the time to truly sculpt my hair. As a fellow artist, I appreciated his attention to detail and creative eye. So much hair had to be removed but I trusted him, I could just tell that he knew what he was doing. I left LOVING my new, modern cut and still love it. Even though the cut was already a huge investment for my grad student budget, I also purchased the tool he used, the Enzo Milano ...not sure what to call it...brush iron? It seems to also have been a good investment, high quality and makes it possible to get close to the same style as Tony did. Being new to the area, I feel like I found my hairdresser. Recently I had gotten a really bad pixie with undercut haircut at Great Clips (see photos). It was so bad that I thought I would have to shave my whole head. I called Roberto and was able to get a same-day appointment. He did a phenomenal job fixing the mess. He's very gifted in texturizing hair and blending it in for a smooth flow. My hair immediately felt lighter and looked way better after his corrections (see photos). I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting an expert haircut.
