Went here tonight after a recommendation and wondering if it really was sushi, with a twist. This…read moreabsolutely satisfied me. It was awesome. I note they have $4 plates on Monday and Friday nights for the regular Sushi options, like prawn nigiri, chicken katsu etc. However with some other interesting options like prosciutto and fig. They have other interesting menu options from the kitchen which I was very keen to try. I ordered the "Katafi prawn", a large prawn freshly fried with stringy crispy coating and salt and herbs atop. This was delicious. There were two in the serving. I then got the prawns and honey chips which was lightly fried prawns with a slightly spicy sauce and vegetable chips with a touch of honey. Again, delicious. I also ordered then salmon jalepeno which was thinly sliced pieces of sashimi on top of cucumber with a jalepeno sauce and jalepenos. Not spicy, but tasted very good. I also got an amazing "harmony tartare" (salmon belly, scallop, avocado and wasabi citrus dressing) YUM !! I got a dessert to take home for when I wasn't full anymore and OMG amazing, a coco pop/mars bar style Slice with a caramel log, white chocolate and popcorn. phenomenal. The theming was like a normal sushi train, with some really cool "sushi fish" lights. They also offer take away and delivery. The man Serving was lovely and the other employees busily working at the back. I loved everything I tried and would be keen to go back and try more!! What a find.

The miso soup would have been better if it was hotter. There were at least three items we tried to order from the menu that the server told us had been removed or were unavailable, so they need to update their menu. I will likely go back again and hope they work out the kinks by then.

This place deserves the five stars others have given it, for the food…read more The service however made me lose 10 IQ points just being in the vicinity of the waitress who served us. If you want to use the toilet, you'll need a key ( if you can get the waitress to remember to get it for you) but then she will have to show you where it is, down a side alley at the bottom of a gimp dungeon style lock up garage. Shut the Front door! That was kinda freaky. We had a great selection of food and we had come here for the Sashimi after a friend from the Blue Mountains had bemoaned that you can't get good "raw fish" up there where he lives. Karage chicken was an absolute stand out. The Deep fried morsels on skewers were also delicious, although they had run out of Mushroom. which we wanted.. oh and they had run out of Pork Spring rolls. I guess it was a Sunday night. Edamame hit the salt spot and the Terriyaki Wagyu beef was quite delicious. This place is good for a Japanese fix if you cant be bothered to go into the city to Japan town. Good for smallish groups, I'd say no more than 4 or 5.

Ask for the Seared Atlantic Salmon Nigiri style its delicious (not on the menu) and don't pass over the Tataki Beef! Shhh keep it quiet because its a small restaurant but a MUST try.

My new found favourite japanese restaurant in Surry Hills!…read more We came here around 6.15pm on a Saturday, they were going to turn us down as they were fully booked but agreed to give us a table if we leave by 8pm. I tried the dinner set menu $33. Every item I had was really good, especially the sushi roll, it was bigger than expected. The tonkatsu was not oily and i love how it came with rice (unlike sushi suma). Though i was extremely full when i was done, they brought dessert! A small panna cotta but really good as well. I really like how the table was spaced out more than Sushi Suma, so it's not like you are invading other people privacy. Will definitely be back :) *Note: Always make a reservation to avoid disappointment!*

Perhaps a little too intimate with other diners but that possibly added to the Japanese vibe. Clean and well presented fare and very generous servings all keenly priced. Sashimi plate was a wonderful starter as was the salmon carpaccio. Tofu and eggplant - must-haves and the teriyaki chicken was spot on and very generous in size. Alas we over ordered and added tempura vegetables which were stella but we had little room left. Wine list was extensive enough and draught beer was available. Attentive staff and full awareness of a radical (crustacea) allergy I had. Want to go back and explore more of the menu. I thought everything we had was really well executed.
