1 of 3 bad haircuts since I moved to Morgantown. Nobody called me back after leaving a message about being dissatisfied with haircut. Yet, they called, no problem, to confirm initial appointment. Would not recommend this place!!!! Can't even give a decent basic haircut!!!! read more

Had my second haircut with RJ. I have naturally curly hair. I called a few days later because my hair was cut uneven across the bottom with the right side visibly 1 inch longer than the left side in the back. I called to get a few quick snips to even it out. The receptionist offered to return in one week. I expressed concerns that I would have to wear my hair up because it's too uneven. After speaking with the manager, they scheduled the appointment to come in that day. Upon return, RJ was visibly upset, expressed frustration and told me that I ruined his day and that I blew this whole thing out of proportion. All I asked for was that a quick fix to trim the long pieces. He brushed my hair straight (after I styled it for him to cut curly style dry as we do) and spent 30 min meticulously snipping. Since my hair was brushed fluffy I could not see how it would look curly. Not only is my hair still uneven, my hair is thinned out! I can now see the entire back of my neck when my hair is wet and my hair feels really thin. I have pictures for management if they'd like to see. This is going to take at least one year or more to grow out. If I owned that salon, RJ would not be working there anymore. read more

Jessie is a superstar aesthetician hiding in plain sight there in Morgantown, WV. In my first year living there I got my brows done at a national chain waxing place. Honestly I went there because I paid a big bunch of money in advance and every time I went in all I had to pay was a tip, which I rarely wanted to do. I would be in and out in under 90 seconds most times. Each girl got the job done but it was never anything special. Finally after a few times there where I had to go home and take a tweezers to them to grab hairs they missed due to rushing, I finally took my stylist Beth's recommendation and made an appt with Jessie. I am not exaggerating, her work blew me away. I looked in the mirror to see my expertly-shaped brows and I looked like I had just left the salon. Just like when you get your hair cut & styled and you leave the salon, you want to show your hair off. I never felt that way about my brows from that other place. I had however experienced that when I lived in Los Angeles and gone to fancy waxing salons, but those days were long gone. Never would I have imagined I'd get that great of a brow wax in WV, but I did. So I kept going back to Jessie and found that she did just as awesome a job every single time. She took her time, much more than 3 minutes but not more than necessary. I have moved back to California and I am so sad I'll never be on Jessie's table again (or in Beth's chair for that matter, but that's another story). Morgantown folks please do yourselves a solid and see Jessie for your brows and you will understand. Her calendar should be booked solid a month in advance, she is that talented and skilled. With the self quarantine being extended in PA, I needed to have my hair done badly as it had been many months since my last appointment with my regular stylist and in attempt to fix the problem myself using box root cover up (do not recommend!), I made my hair worse. I decided to look for a reputable salon in Morgantown since the drive isn't that much further than Pittsburgh and they are able to have their salons open and found highly rated reviews for Tonique's Trilogy. Getting an appointment was very easy and I was able to get in at the salon in about a week. I was scheduled at their new location and the salon is clean, bright and beautiful. Monika was my stylist and listened to all the issues I had with my hair and proceeded to talk to me about how she was going to correct it. She listened to me through out the entire time and made sure to check in each step so that my hair ended up corrected exactly as I wanted. I was so happy with the results and glad I was able to leave loving how it turned out. Monika even went out of her way to follow up the next day to make sure everything was great with the color going forward. Such amazing service and highly highly recommend! read more

Incredibly fast response time! Thank you to Beth (owner of Toniques Trilogy). I'll keep you updated on how the booking process and actual hair comes out! So far...5 stars. I made my daughter an appointment for Saturday morning at 11:30. We drove from Uniontown PA to be there promptly. However, we ended up at their other location (only about 5 minutes away from the actual salon). It would've been nice if directions would have been given earlier, and maybe a general jist of what to expect once at the salon. My daughters 12 and likes for me to be somewhat around during a long process like getting your hair or nails done. I was sitting in their waiting area on my phone when the owner Beth asked me if I could go outside and wait in my car, that because of COVID they're not allowed to have anyone who is not actually getting something done to their hair sitting in their waiting areas. As a cosmetologist myself I completely understand and wasn't offended at all. Just would've been nice to know a little earlier on. This salon is definitely taking all the precautions to be safe and clean. Between each stylists station is a piece of hanging plexiglass, everyone was wearing masks, sanitizing...so on and so forth. I'd definitely take my daughter back and maybe next time I'll even get something done! Ps. The inside of this salon is AMAZING! Beautiful shampoo station, color bar and stations. Everyone who worked here was super nice. I had Miranda and she was very friendly. I asked for short hair with light layering I had previously been to the downtown location and had a good experience with the same hair cut. When Miranda cut my hair it was fine when she blow dried it. But when I went home and it air dried my hair was very choppy and my hair is not layered the same on each side. Unfortunately I also cannot get it fixed because it is too short and getting it fixed would require it to be even shorter. I know Miranda comes highly reviewed but if you have a different type of hair texture or ethnic hair (I'm Hispanic) I'm not sure she's the right fit as a hair dresser for you. I don't want to risk another bad hair cut so I won't be coming back read more

I had a great experience at this salon. I went from having virgin dark brown hair to balayage caramel highlights with Johanna. She was super sweet and did a great job capturing what I was asking for. I'm visiting Morgantown for the week and this salon came up when I did a quick search for hair salons. Becky was incredibly fast at responding to my questions and I booked an appointment with Katie for the following day. I was initially concerned about (any of) the stylists' experience with cutting Asian hair, because let's face it-- not everyone knows how to work with different hair textures. I took a risk and was glad I did! Katie did a great job trimming my already-short bob into something much leaner, cleaner, and refreshing. She was quick, efficient, and totally listened to what I wanted so that I got exactly the cut I anticipated. It was a great experience and even more unique because I got to enjoy the funky layout of the salon (it is literally in a 2 story house so that you're getting your hair done in different "bedrooms". There is even an actual bath tub in the restroom). The only downside here is that the salon didn't offer the Yelp deal advertised online. Apparently, their deal ended @ the beginning of March-- so they are not offering free travel sized items and $5 off a conditioning treatment (even though that's what's posted online). Finally, in terms of $$ ( I'm never given an estimate no matter how many times I ask for it), the cost of my trim was $45 and I gave an additional $10 tip. read more

Spencer did a great job, they were able to accommodate me via walk-in. I was in the area and needed a haircut so I whipped me out Yelp and that is where I found myself. She did everything I asked and I got the look I was going for. She was able to hold a conversation and was very polite. The only drawback to this place is three fold. -you pretty much have to park in the pay for parking lot - though they were able to get me in, this may not be the normal without an appointment -you can't leave a tip on your card, there is a bank though right across the street It was $20 for a haircut, which is a little on the expensive side especially when I get my haircut at least 3 times a month so add tip and we are at $80-100 a month for getting my haircut, but I will for sure use her off and on. read more

She looked at my picture, we discussed the haircut I desperately needed. She shampooed me with expert hands. She took her time with the haircut to make sure it is a precision cut. I love it. I'm a dude. I get a pretty basic haircut. Sometimes paying $20 for a cut is a bit steep, but honestly, it's worth it. Relaxed environment, great people, and they do a really good job. Lots of options of the ladies, but even just looking for something simple-yet-stylish for men, it's definitely worth the $20. The salon itself is clean and bright, with good attention to COVID precautions (handwashing and masks), and very cheerful employees. This salon is amazing. Very homey feeling but also professional. It includes art and very friendly staff. They always ask if you need anything: food, a drink or magazines. I've been coming here for a while for dye jobs and I always feel comfortable and confident in what's being done. While I was waiting for my dye to soak in, my stylist literally got me Thai food. Yesterday, I took advantage of the $20 spray tan at Tonique in Westover. I'm moving to Morgantown from Bridgeport. I frequently get spray tans. (As in every couple of weeks). I wanted to find a salon in Morgantown. It was the WORST spray tan I have ever had. During the session, I questioned the girl about how it was being applied. I told her I have had many many many spray tans, and iVe never had a spray tan that the mist felt so light while being applied. I was not at all sticky afterward, which I also questioned as well. Normally, I've been dried by a fan or the actual spray tan applicator to have the tan dry. It was as if I was not sprayed. The girl stood fairly far away. I also noticed that the typical Venetian spray tan bottle was out on the counter, but also a Training spray tan bottle. I don't know if maybe the wrong solution was used, or if the girl (while very sweet did not know how to use the spray tan. After questioning her, the girl applying the tan assured me the tan would develop after 8 hours. I keep hoping that when I woke up the tan would have miraculously developed. However, I look like I didn't even get a spray tan. I have no tan lines at all. I am on my way to SC to the beach. This was a waste of time. I will have to stop close to where we are vacationing tonight to get another spray tan. I will never go back to Tonique and would never recommend them to anyone for a spray tan. I can't imagine if I were a bride and depended on the tan for my wedding. The tan I received, is non existent. read more

I am not from the area but I go to school at WVU. My hair was atrocious, and needed to be trimmed and colored and I was really nervous about going to a place that wasn't in my hometown. I'm so glad I came here, because Emily saved my hair! She trimmed it just as much needed to be cut, rather than cutting a million inches off, made it super soft because it was dried out from previous bleaching, and put lowlights/highlights in my grown out blonde ombré hair. I had a very disappointing experience at Tonique's Trilogy today. I came in to have my "men's style haircut"- I get the sides buzzed down to a no. 2 and the top longer at 2 1/2 inches- and was charged $42, DOUBLE what the person in front of me paid who had the exact.same. haircut. When I brought up the clear discrepancy in the price I was told that Trilogy "charges customers based on GENDER" not the ACTUAL HAIRCUT or LENGTH of the hair. Clearly this is discriminatory thinking. They took advantage of the situation. read more

I usually walk in with a unique style in my mind (or on my pinterest board), and I have always walked away from Tonique a happy satisfied customer! The staff was nice and the salon was stylish but my stylist didn't listen to what I wanted at all. I asked for a bob just off my shoulders and I got an angled pixie cut somehow! The sides were uneven and I was told "don't worry, it'll grow out". It is actually the worst haircut I've had in my life.
