This was my 2 y.o.'s first visit to the dentist. I was nervous because she cries and clings to me super hard for every doctor's visit so I imagined the same with the dentist. Dr. Toni was awesome! We chatted about my concerns, answered questions, and gave me background knowledge about toddler teeth (without confusing me with jargon), and offered recommendations. While we chatted, my daughter played in their play area...and warmed up to the back space where she'd be getting her treatment. Today, dr. Toni did a demo brushing and gave her a fluoride treatment. Of course, my daughter cried and clung to me but it wasn't bad at all. She stopped crying once Dr. Toni gave her her fluoride. Dr. Toni is super kid friendly; knows how to make a nervous mama feel calm and at ease. I've been raving about her all morning to my family and friends. She will be our primary dentist, for sure! read more

I was referral to Dr. Chen by other dentist. First for all, Dr. Chen is very nice and professional. Her staffs were very patient to do the cleaning with my two young kids, 7 & 5 years old. But I experience is not good with the payment they charge. I have PPO insurance, they are not suppose to charge me for the annual check up and the base cleaning. I had two appointment at the same day, after the first appointment with my 7-years old, I was told I don't need to pay any. but when I came for the second appointment with my 5-years old, i was told i need to pay for both of the kids, because they have put some sort of vitamin on the tooth. Also, due to some treatment they need to do with my 7-years old, they showed me the price breakdown, and the portion that i need to pay beside the insurance coverage. I have agree and sign, but later on, they told me the price is changed because my insurance coverage is less after this office visit. I have very bed impress on this, because i feel like they are like a thief to try every best to dig the money for you. If not because of this, i wish i could keep Dr. Chen along with my kids' grow up. read more

Both of my kids have been patient of Dr. Toni for over 5 years, and we've had good experiences with Dr. Toni and staff for everything except for the cost. Dr. Toni has amazing bedside manners and always puts my kids at ease. In turn, my kids really love going to see her. There is a small tablet room and play area to keep the kiddos occupied and relaxed while waiting. Location of office is convenient and the office space itself recently got an update and looks clean and welcoming. There are no TVs or screens at each patient chair though. However, I've recently been hit with an expensive cavities treatment proposal that includes sedation or laughing gas options. Either way it was going to be in the thousands out of pocket despite my insurance being quite generous. I got a second opinion at my own dentist who told me no anesthesia shot is needed, no laughing gas is needed and certainly sedation is very unnecessary. I was skeptical, but my 5YO had the cavities filled just like that today! She just watched her movie while my dentist did the fillings, no fussing, nothing! My out of pocket cost was 85% less (I paid less than $500)! I was astonished to say the least... I know Dr. Toni said laughing gas and sedation are both optional but she recommended them so as to not traumatize the kids and to improve calmness and cooperation, and that the anesthesia shot was needed. In terms of quality of dentistry, I feel qualified as an existing patient for my dentist to say he's just as good. My point is really that Dr. Toni and her team are great, but something to think about is the necessity of certain techniques/practices. I don't think anyone will want to expose their kids to anesthesia/sedation unnecessarily and pay for unnecessary costs. Ultimately, parents of course are the judge for how much their kids can tolerate in terms of anxiety and pain. I am now rethinking that I should've not had my other child get cavities filled with Dr. Toni because each time we used laughing gas, which in hindsight was wholly unnecessary... read more

After a traumatizing experience at another pediatric dental office we found Dr. Toni through my moms dentist. Dr. Toni is AMAZING and so is her staff. My son had to have some pretty extensive work done under sedation. Dr. Toni made my mom, my son, and I feel at ease with what was going to take place. She took her time to talk with us and show me the X-rays and detail what needed to happen. She worked so hard for over 3 hours and did an amazing job. Her sympathetic nature made me feel at home and safe to have my child under her care. I love that while he was in there everyone's attention was on him. My son was so happy when he came to and told me that he REALLY likes Dr. Toni! Thank you, thank you for being AMAZING in every way!!! read more

Best pediatric dentist office around! As the mom, I wish I could be a patient too. Dr. Chen and Dr. Anneri are extremely knowledgeable. They truly take the time to examine their patients and explain/answer any questions. The office is very clean and runs efficiently. The staff is amazing. My son has been seen by Dr. Toni since he was young and is now applying for college. Dr. Toni is not only friendly and knowledgeable in her field, but very personal at the same time. She pleasantly answers your questions every time and genuinely takes care of your child's teeth. I recently had questions regarding my son's wisdom teeth. My son has been experiencing a lot of discomfort in his mouth due to canker sores, my husband and I have been so worried because our son wouldn't eat, drink and have fever for so many days. When we notice that he has many canker sores and his gum is swelling with blood, my instinct tells me that we have to take him to the dentist. We aren't expecting our son to be seen right away but the front desk lady is super helpful, she actually talks to Dr. Chen and puts us as the emergency patient. O-M-G Dr Chen is an amazing doctor, she has a beautiful heart and very understanding. She puts herself in our shoes and explains everything that we need to know, she actually makes my husband and I feel better with suggestions. She ensures us that it will get better each and everyday, she checks on our son and she teaches us how to brush his teeth properly. I honestly appreciate that because she actually cares for us, she stays for us and I know I must write this review. Toni is nice and professional, but the way they bill and charge is totally another story. I told the front desk my SSN and insurance info.during my visit, everything seemed alright, so I made three visits. Few months later, got a statement with large amount of balance because the dentist is not within my insurance network, and the insurance only paid up to one-third. I understand the clinic is not responsible for how much the insurance would pay, but is it very hard to let me know if you are not within my insurance network? It feels like taking my car to a body shop, telling them I have Farmer's and the body shop said nothing. One week later, they got my car fixed, but then told me they only accept Statefarm and charged me exorbitant amount of money. After a lengthy negotiation, got 10% off for one time courtesy, but the amount is still very expensive to us. Learning the fact that my insurance does not fully cover this dentist, I switched to another dentist, but the appointment scheduled long time ago was still there. The appointment is 4pm Friday, and I tried to cancel it on 10 am Thursday. They now want to charge me $25 for not cancelling the appointment before 48 hrs, and told me it is written in the document I signed at the first time. I mean, am I dealing with a clinic or a lawyer now? $25 is affordable to me, but I am now totally upset about this place. Overall, this place is not as flexible as other dentist offices I've been to when it comes to billing. You have to know your insurance and their policy very well to avoid the charge you don't expect.
