Today was our first visit and it far exceeded our expectations. I scheduled a routine cleaning for my 3 year old. We're coming from another pediatric dentist with whom we haven't had the best experience the past few years. Dr. Tony and his practice was everything that I was seeking. Carmen and Susan are the sweetest! Scheduling was easy and I noticed that they don't overbook patients, like some practices. My child was so scared (with tears in her eyes) going to the dentist and it took some time for her to warm up. But Carmen and Dr. Tony were so patient with her. She eventually completed her entire cleaning. Dr. Tony was so thorough and explained everything he saw to me. He gave me his recommendations to ensure my child's healthy oral health. He was so personable and I didn't feel like we were just "another patient to get through." I was so pleased with our visit that I booked my other two children's cleaning with Dr. Tony in a few months. read more

I took both my kids (ages 3 and 9) to Dr Hwang for a dentist appointment. Dr Hwang and his staff were so patient, and really seemed to care. My kids were both nervous, in fact my 9 year old was getting x rays for the first time. The dental hygienist entertained his myriad of questions with so much patience and grace. Been taking my 6 yr old and 3 year old to him since they were 1. Like most kids they get nervous when going but they are comfortable enough to go thru with their checkups and dr hwang and his staff are very friendly and accommodating to my kids. They simplify and explain to my kids the procedures they are doing so they feel more involved and in the loop. I especially like that Dr Hwang is an honest dentist and doesn't try to upsell anything that isn't needed for my kids like special gum meds for teething pains or advising to NOT get my kids x rays unless there is tooth pain. Many dentists always take x rays every visit just so they can bill the insurance and make money, not really worrying about the cumulative radiation the patient gets especially for young kids. This shows that Dr Hwang cares about his patients well being. read more

We have been seeing Dr. Hwang for a year and definitely no complaints from us. It was a breeze to schedule an appointment and with Covid going on, the office follows a strict safety protocol. We were only patients in the office. We are required to call prior to entering to ensure the absolute minimal number of people in the office. Everything was clean and efficient. We were in and on within 30 minutes. The kid got a goodie bag with Mickey and Minnie toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, a toy, and a sticker for being such good patient. Love bringing my kids here. I've always been nervous about taking my kids to the dentist but since our first visit I knew we would become regular patients. Dr. Hwang is kind, patient, and very informative. The receptionist was also very helpful in contacting our insurance to get information on our coverage. When it comes to choosing a dental provider, I can't think of anything I enjoy more then closing my eyes, moving my finger around a dental provider book while singing, "Eeny meeny miney mo." Which is why I rely heavily on Google searches and Yelp reviews. I take them with a grain of salt of course, as many places just want to inflate their businesses with bogus reviews, but after seeing the reviews on Yelp for Dr. Tony I figured it couldn't hurt to make an appointment and see if he was worth the hype. Well he certainly was!! I couldn't have been happier in making this selection for my daughters dentist. The office staff is friendly, fun, and very informative. They really did a great job of being attentive to my daughter's fears and making her relax enough that she forgot she was supposed to be scared of the dentist! Both Dr Tony and Carmen really took their time with my daughter and I, explaining everything in detail and answering all my crazy questions. I wrote this review not to fill up Dr. Tony's office, but to help parents like me who are looking for someone who will not only be a great dentist to their child, but is someone who truly seems to care about their clientele, building trust between the client and the dentist, and someone who understands that children (as well as parents) are often scared of going to the dentist, and will work with the client to ease their fears and make it a rather enjoyable experience. I'm so glad I found this place! My daughter had her first appointment. I wanted her to to have a good experience and they definitely went above and beyond. They included her in the entire process and kept reassuring her that she was doing a great job. My daughter felt so comfortable and loved it. Best pediatric dentist practice I have ever been to. We have kids with sensory issues and recently my youngest had to have a bunch of baby teeth extracted because they wouldn't fall out naturally. Dr. Amy Huh was SO nice and reassuring (to me!) and got those teeth out with great ease and my kid was totally comfortable during the process. I cannot recommend this practice enough. My kids and I like Dr. Hwang but I couldn't deal with the front desk person anymore because of her condescending manner on the phone. I had to call to reschedule the appointment because my work has been backed up since I've returned to the office after long period of working at home during the pandemic. The front desk person sounded really upset and frustrated, and told me there is no available spot for next three months what so ever. I've experience her being rude on the phone before and I just didn't want to put up with her anymore. I no longer take my kids to Dr. Hwang anymore because of her. read more

The most down to earth dentist ever!! I brought my Kids here after having to switch insurance companies and needing to find a new pediatric dentist. I'm always so hesitant in going to a new medical professional of any kind, so I tend to be stand-offish when meeting them for the first time. We've been going to Dr. Tony for few years. My daughter has extremely sensitive teeth so we would schedule extra cleaning during the year. We were told that they are not seeing patients during the pandemic so our appointments were cancelled but said they would contact us as soon as they started seeing patients. A year later, I called them and found that they've been seeing patients for quite some time. I shouldn't have waited because now my daughter has cavities and they also told me in a very rude and condensing way that they don't even cover my insurance anymore. Wasted time with no call back. Dr. Tony is such a great dentist. For the little ones, he is really friendly and is really gentle with kids. My 3 year old loves going for her dental check ups. He gives great goody bags and prizes to the kids to motivate them to brush and floss. His office is a lot of fun - toys, books, and even video game systems set up in the lobby to make it fun. This review is strictly based on my interaction with the front desk-Tammy. Based on the fabulous review on Yelp, I called the office to know if they take my insurance. Tammy, if this is her really name, is really rude. She asked me to call the insurance company by MYSELF. She accused me just shopping around and I should go to other place. She want me to make an appointment first, she will let me know the coverage after the first visit to the office. I try to explain to her that it is important for me to know the insurance coverage before making an appointment. She hang up on me! In my years of interactions with different doctor offices, I have never been treated this way. I don't know what is wrong with her. read more

Great doctor and staff! I brought my 3.5yo twins for their first dental visits recently. Dr Tony said the goal was to "count their teeth" which is a general inspection. And anything else would be gravy. He kept emphasizing wanting to create a great and relaxed experience for them. It's really nice. ---first they relax the kids with toys and games in the waiting room. The hygienist comes out and talks to them and warms them up to her- which is great. --then they got to pick a movie to watch on the TV on the ceiling. (Frozen, of course) --then they get the fish that looks like Nemo wearing dentures to cuddle and use as a visual aid. :-) --dr tony comes over and chats with them and makes them laugh. He got my L so relaxed she made it through a full cleaning! My C was having a great time until it was her turn and she panicked and screamed until outside for a good 15 minutes. First it was to leave that place, then it was because her sister got a toy and she didn't. (They did give her a toothbrush, which was nice considering). --so I was nervous about taking C back after that. I waited a few weeks and we went without a sister along. (We did not get charged for the last visit for C even though it was pointless.) They repeated all the niceness and guess what!? She made it all the way through!! The bribe of an extra Frozen sticker helped too. ;-) I was so relieved and grateful that my girls had such a nice first dental experience overall. I highly recommend Dr. Tony's office!!! This doctor is amazing! I was referred by my dentist after we discovered my daughter had cavities and they (my dentist) were unable to work them. I have since brought my son as well and they LOVE the fact that they can watch a movie while getting worked on. He is good with the kids and explains everything he is about to do and what they might feel before he does it. I have sat each time and watched how he speaks and interacts with the kids. read more

I took my son here once so far and I really like the office, staff, and dentist. Everyone was nice and more importantly patient with my son. The dentist and hygienist made sure that my son was comfortable before checking and polishing his teeth. The last thing I want is an aversion to the dentist. Dr. Hwang did a great job explaining to me how best to take care of my son's teeth. He is smart but very generous and easy to talk to. Carmen did a great job helping my four year old get comfortable in what is a scary experience for most kids. Let him touch and play with all the cleaning tools and when I tried to push him to clean more teeth that he didn't want to, she said "no, I want to keep my word to him. We can clean them next time." I scheduled my daughter's first ever dentist appointment with Dr. Hwang. When I arrived, my daughter immediately headed over to the play area - so far so good! Dr. Hwang's assistant came out and started interacting with her while I filled out new patient forms. I couldn't believe how nice she was to take the time to sit with my daughter to try and put her at ease before starting the check-up. It seemed to work because my daughter starting talking to her :) This to me was already above and beyond service! I had zero wait time and saw the doc right after turning in the paperwork. Dr. Hwang comes off as a genuine caring pediatric dentist. He didn't rush anything and made sure my daughter was comfortable with everything he did. He even let her hold some of the instruments before using them on her. He explained what the appointment was about, how to care for her teeth, and what we should look forward to at the following visit. At the end of the appointment, she got to pick one toy to take home with her...awesome. Office is clean and looks to be technologically up to date. First visit here. Was referred by my father's friend. Love the office. Beautiful hawaiian/under the sea murals throughout the office. Staff were super friendly and patient. The doctor was very kind and patient. He was also very detailed in explaining things to us. I wish our pediatrician was as kind and patient as him. My daughter cried like crazy but eventually gave in and opened her mouth. Afterwards, the staff talked and played with her while the parents had a chat with the dentist. Dr. Tony is one of the best! I began taking my two daughters here after a horrible experience at another pediatric dental office. After telling Dr. Tony about my hesitation with trusting dental offices, he took his time conversing with my husband and I and reassured us that we would receive the best care at his office. He has EXCEEDED our expectations. He and his staff are some of the sweetest people you'd ever want to meet. My kids love going to the dentist because they know they'll be treated kindly, have great toys and video games to play while there, and t.v.
