Both my kids have been going to Dr. Eddie for the past seven years. The reason why we went to him was because our previous dentist always had the most aggressive treatment plan without offering other options or education. I came to Dr. Eddie for a second opinion and he laid out three options with pros and cons for each. He even quoted studies which I love, because I'm all about evidence-based care. We never turned back and have been with him since. Fast forward seven years later, my son chipped both his front teeth. We had to see an emergency dentist over the weekend and they automatically suggested root canals and crowns. The following Monday, Dr. Eddie squeezed us in first thing in the morning and is basically trying to save his teeth without either a root canal or crowns. We love Arcadia Pediatric, Dr. So, and the staff! Everyone is so friendly and professional. They are so wonderful with kids. Both of our girls come here and love it. The office is super clean and kid friendly. They do a great job with teeth cleaning and making the kids feel comfortable during the cleaning. Dr. So is very thorough with the exam. He will check each tooth, the bite, the alignment, any wear, etc. After the exam, he explains everything to the parent(s) in detail, and provides recommendations, possible/future procedures, what to look out for, and more. He genuinely cares for his patients and ensures that he will watch over the kids as they grow up. We have also come to the office during the pandemic. They did such a great job with making us feel comfortable and safe. Check in is from car first. Front area is sanitized before each family enters. Waiting room is empty. Temperature and oxygen levels of parents and children are checked. All staff wear face masks, face shields, and gloves. You will definitely feel safe. The office always gives a toy to each child after their visit. Before the pandemic, it was like a treasure chest to choose from. Post pandemic, the kids choose from a picture and the nurse will get the prize for the child. Well done! Note: Cleaning for toddlers begin at 3 years of age. Very nice clean office. Super friendly staff. Easy to make an appointment. Great for the little kids too.

The service is the same for everyone. But it's totally overcharged with annual tooth cleaning and X-ray. I have PPO dental insurance from the company (I pay the premium) but ended up sending the bill to my insurance to claim $329 while my insurance only covers $174, so $155 is from my pocket. And they claim it's because it's out of network. However, we have never been informed while my wife brings a kid to see the doc at the front desk. I called the office right after I received the bill. I feel this is a scam since the kid only gets the routine service, and they should inform my wife when we showed the insurance information. Why did I take so long to write a review? Dr. So is amazing to say the least. There is something soothing about him that calms the kids while he's pulling out their teeth. LOL! The best part is, the kids will not feel ANYTHING. If you have a child who is afraid of going to the dentist, you HAVE to give Dr. So a try and I promise you he/she will never be afraid of the dentist office again. I was very impressed by this practice and Dr. So, first they were very cautious with Covid precautions, even checking O2 saturation level at check in. The place seemed very clean and staff is detailed. The dental assistant was so sweet and gentle with my daughter, explained everything and made it fun and made her completely not afraid. I expected Dr. So to come in and check for a few minutes and then leave like our experience at Sierra Madre pediatrics, but he spent so much time going into detail examining her teeth, describing prevention techniques for cavities, the science behind the bacteria in the mouth and fluoride, how to prevent thumb sucking, and more! We love taking our daughter here for her dental checkups. The service staff is absolutely awesome. The moment you check in, your child is met with smiles and warmth and they really try to go out of their way to make your little ones comfy. This place is totally set up for children. There are video games and a little play area to keep you busy while you're waiting, and in the observation/check-up area, there's TV's on the ceiling so your child can remain occupied while they do their thang. Dr. Alex is her dentist, so we haven't seen Dr. Eddie yet either, but really, every experience we've had so far has been awesome. They are very attentive and have provided great advice to help my wife and I get our daughter to brush her teeth, and showed us the best way to floss and brush her teeth as well. Today, seven years later, Dr. So and Dr. Tom's Office is his favorite get away place. It's unbelievable how comfortable and happy they make him feel. Dr. Eddie So is a true blessing! I sought a new dentist after my 3 year-old daughter was screaming due to a toothache, and her dentist was unable to be reached. I researched dentists and stumbled upon Dr. So. My daughter walked into his office, and I was amazed that he even got her to open her mouth! No coaxing or bribes! He simply used his charm and his sense of humor. I truly believe that it was the environment and Dr. So's caring nature that she perceived. It was amazing to see my daughter at peace in a dentist's chair! It was a huge contrast to visits with her past dentist. I would have to sit in the chair with her, and she would refuse to open her mouth. I'm embarrassed to say that I had to hold her head back and mouth open her mouth for the dentist to even get a peek. Dr. So took care of the toothache and performed all of the needed work. Due to her age, amount of work, her past experiences, and fear from visits with our other dentist, she needed to be put to sleep to have the work done on her teeth. It was a tough choice, but it was a smooth process. Dr. So and his staff reassured me of the process and made it comfortable for my daughter. I was able to hold her as they gave her a shot, and she became drowsy. Needless to say, we decided he was a keeper! She is now 10, and she is never fearful to sit in that chair. My older son is also his patient. The office staff is cheerful, and his office has a jungle theme that is not overly stimulating. There are tvs on the ceiling as work is performed, but my kids are engaged by the staff's conversation. My daughters used to be scared of the dentist and would cry when I put them on the chair. They've been happy ever since we switched to Dr. Eddie. The waiting room is nicely decorated with hanging monkeys and have video games for the kids to play with. The wait is usually very short so the girls don't get to play too much. There are two sound-proof rooms on each side of the office which are good so screaming kids won't scared other kids. I like that they have TV's on the ceiling above the chairs. Kids can watch TV while they are getting their teeth clean. Dr. Eddie and the staff are great. They are very friendly and are good at making the kids comfortable. Dr. Eddie explains things very well to us and does a very good job. The girls get balloons and prizes, in additional to the toothpaste and toothbrush set every time. That moment of happiness when you find your child's dentist. After a bad experience with my child's previous dentist, we ended up here. What was the bad experience you ask ? My child had to be restrained to get X-rays & cried the entire time. I do not know who was more traumatized, my child or me. So happy so have found this office. My child hasn't been seen by Dr Eddie but he has seen Dr Alex. Dr Alex is great & well as all the staff. They don't mind answering all my inquisitive child's questions, the more anxiety the more questions. They give him the respect, time & empathy a little 6 year old needs. Did I mention a super kid friendly office ? The kids can play video games while they wait in the lobby. The water fountain is o so soothing. There is a tv on the ceiling to distract your child while getting that cavity filled. Did I say no shots? Yup that's right! They use a laser technology, so your little one doesn't have to be poked. Plus each dental room has a comfortable stool for the parent. It's the perfect height to be able to sit & hold your child's hand in case they need to be comforted during the visit. Our 2 year old son enjoyed his first dental visit here and said it was fun! Upon entering, kids are delighted to see a little waterfall fountain, monkeys hanging on trees, cartoons on TV and game consoles for games. The receptionist and staff greeted us with a warm welcome and made my son and us feel very comfortable. Dr. Eddie So explained to us how to take care of our son's teeth with preventative measures and life style changes. He also went over what to expect in terms of molars coming in and how to alleviate any discomfort he might go through and how to avoid fevers related to teething. He was very gentle and sweet while examining our son's teeth and although he was apprehensive at first, my son relaxed due to the doctors great bedside manner. For the first visit, the doctor had us hold our son on our lap while he removed the plaque on his teeth with a scaler and gauze. He speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English fluently. He asked us more than once if we had any other questions or concerns and he answered all our questions with helpful answers. At no point did we feel rushed or unimportant. This is what really makes the difference between a good doctor and a great doctor! At the end of the visit, my son was delighted to get a new package filled with a toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste. He also got a balloon and was able to choose a toy from the treasure chest. He left with a big clean smile. :) His schedule does fill up and it takes about a month to get an appointment. One thing I wished they did, but they didn't do was to call us with a reminder that we had our first appointment. However, for our second appointment in 6 months, the receptionist said they will text us a reminder... Maybe once you are in their system they will call/text/email a reminder, but not for the first appointment I am guessing. read more

My daughter has bad anxiety and because of that we waited too long to address her dental issues. He immediately puts her at ease with his caring, entertaining, and professional demeanor. We came to see Dr Eddie for our then 3 yr old son's extensive dental work which involved IV sedation. The reason for the review is for these three reasons: 1) We were charged more than what we were supposed to pay when the time came to pay the bill right after treatment; but additionally I was very uncomfortable with the way they were trying to get me to pay the entire balance before leaving the dental office (I almost felt like I was being held hostage). When I fought the additional charges which included an office administration charge (which I've never had to pay at any medical or dental office in my life) Dr. So granted me the previous price but also told me that we could never come back to his office (basically dumped us as patients) 2) The whole treatment (Under IV sedation) lasted a lot longer than expected and due to my concerns when I voiced them, I was met with criticism by Dr. So (the anesthesia bill ended up being larger due to this extra time spent) 3) 1 year later, 3 of the fillings (one canine and two front upper teeth broke off) and 2 years later the first molar pulpotomy failed so my son had to get this tooth extracted today by another dentist. I am disappointed by the lack of respect and good dental work at this office. read more

My son had an appointment and at the last minute, it was cancelled! Ana said that Dr So had a conference--- but how do you not know you have a conference in advanced?!! Ana was not apologetic and didn't think it was a big deal to tell me (a single mom with a career who had to move meetings to take son to appts). As if it was not bad the first time, the office cancelled last minute the SECOND time! At this point, I'd had enough. Don't go to this office if you value your time. Dr. Eddie makes kids feel super comfortable and will talk your kids through out a procedure. My son has two cavities to work on today and Dr Eddie had "Gummy Bear Air" for him to relax. My son is super scared of needles and even asked Dr Eddie if he was going to get a shot. He said yes, but that he was going to num the area first so he won't feel a thing and that he does that for 2-3yrs old kids. He put my son at ease and my son completely trusted him. All through the procedure Dr Eddie talked to him and made funny comments. My son even forgot that he was scared. This is the reason why we keep on coming back even if Dr Eddie is not our insurance in network provider. We are willing to pre pay and pay probably extra for out of network. Dr. So is by far one of the best dentists I have ever encountered. I wish he saw adults as well. Another dentist botched fillings with my daughter's baby teeth. The teeth were not filled correctly and cavities grew into huge infections and abscesses. In addition the previous dentist pulled a baby tooth that should not have been pulled and did not put in a space bar leaving. This in turn led to leaving no space for her adult tooth to descend. Dr. So was amazingly patient with my very frightened child and worked with her through the months so competently that first year that she now looks forward to her six month cleanings! read more

I did not see the response until now, but honestly, just because you're expecting a call does not give you the excuse to give away someone's Personally Identifiable Information. As far as calling from a number withing my profile, I'm afraid that was quite impossible because I called from work and the United States Navy routes their phones in such a way that even if I gave you or my ex-wife my work number (which I didn't) it would not show up as I listed it. In addition to this, the on call doctor was the third least helpful person I've ever met. In addition to which, he did inform me that none of the patient's information was stored on local servers and that one of the staff had to log in to access them. As an IT professional, I have no doubt that whatever company you use is taking the appropriate encryption methods, etc, but they cannot defend against someone stealing your login because that would appear to them as a legitimate authentication. Based on how cavalier you are with sending patient's information, I trust your methods about as much as I trust a Southern BBQ establishment on the moon. I understand the nature of your response, because of the potential effect, but at the end of the day, ownership of a mistake is much more honorable and respectful than pretending like a problem doesn't exist. I'm sorry, but your response is inaccurate and dangerous to patient information. Correct the mistake, don't act like their isn't one. read more

Dr Eddie So and his staff are awesome! I recently took both my boys (3 years and 1 years) and they did an amazing job. My 3 year old was terrified but the lady who cleaned his teeth was extremely patient and was able to calm him down. She was able to clean his teeth and Dr. So was able to do his evaluation. At her first visit in March, my girl felt right at home right away. She loved the decoration throughout the office. The staff at the front desk made my girl feel like at home as she stepped in. Your assistant, Clara, was excellent. She talked to my girl as they had been friends for a long time. And for me.. WOW. my girl was in dentist office, and I do not need to hold her hand or the need to comfort her. When we need to make a follow-up appointment, my girl said she only wanted Dr. Eddie and no one else. She went on telling her friends and cousins on what a wonderful time she had at Dr. Eddie's office. The follow-up appointment was 2 month later.
