The staff member I spoke to was abrupt, spoke over me, and seemed more focused on rushing me along than actually listening. She even told off two children who were doing nothing wrong. While I was there, I watched her cut a child's hair without brushing it -- the child's nan had to take a brush out of her own bag to finish the job. This alone raised concerns about basic professionalism and hygiene. During my enquiry, I was also told, rather cryptically, that "it's not £90 anymore, the deal came down today." I hadn't mentioned any deal, but I made it clear I was happy to pay the £130 stated online. I had my patch test, confirmed the price, and left -- already unsure about the experience. Today I joined the online queue only to receive a call and email saying my appointment was cancelled because I "hadn't had a patch test." I phoned to correct this, and only then did they "find" it. When I arrived for the appointment, a staff member was having her own hair coloured while clients were waiting. Again, not a great look for a business that already feels disorganised. I explained what I wanted, and the stylist asked if I had been given a price. I confirmed I had -- £130, minus the 10% first‑visit discount clearly advertised online. Meaning the total would be £117. She returned to tell me the total would actually be £157. At that point, I chose to leave. For me, this isn't about the price. It's about the principle. Do not lure customers in with one price and then increase it once they're in the chair, hoping they'll be too embarrassed to walk out. It's misleading and unprofessional. The salon itself feels basic, rushed, and not particularly clean. The service is poor, and the reviews reflect that. Unfortunately, my experience only confirmed what others have already said.

Living locally, I came across this chain of salons that was only a 5 minute walk from my fiancé's place. Usually I would have called much in advance, but I checked Facebook and they had a few 5 star reviews so I forged ahead and checked their website, and they had a deal: 30 pounds for new customers! I called to see if they could fit me in. Luckily one opening at 1PM on a Saturday, guess I'm just lucky! Charlotte greeted me at the front desk and offered me a drink, I opted for some lemon water, which she brought out with some candies on the side! She was sweet, and during the consult she was helpful and listened to exactly what I wanted regarding length, layers and the style I wanted at the end. The hair was was absolutely glorious, and she asked me if I wanted a head massage... UM YES PLEASE! Who ever said no to that question? During the cut, she talked me through each step before doing it, and checking after each step that I was happy! I have never had someone do that before and it was really nice and refreshing! I told her I was going out later in the evening, and she asked how I would like it styled, and I asked her just large waves/curls, with an easy flow. I'm not sure I even knew what I meant, but Charlotte did and delivered! I swear in my almost 30 years of life I have never been so happy with a haircut! I think I found my new hair stylist, but can I just bring her back with me to New York? Pretty please? Charlotte if you are reading this, thank you! I felt gorgeous for the next two days!
