Everyone is very friendly, and you get offered drinks and magazines, so it is a relaxing experience. It can get a bit pricey, but they do offers at certain times of the year and if you wait for them, it's not bad at all. She is also really lovely and the salon has a relaxed, friendly vibe. Stylish rather than trendy I would say, and not trying too hard to be cool like some others do. The prices are very reasonable and there are always great deals on. My two sisters also get their hair done there and one of them lives in Deptford so it must be good for her to travel all that way!

I love that I can just go along and have a chat and not feel like I'm in the way like you do at some salons. The owner, Vilma is lovely and she is a fantastic colourist and stylist. I love my hair every time. It's a really natural shiny blonde (if I do say so myself!). She even made the blonde to brown thing work without the awful murky in-between stage which is pretty impressive! I also get my nails done with TLC Nails and Beauty in the upstairs salon which is great. I never thought my nails could look nice until I went there. Anyway, I can't recommend this place enough, so if you're sick of paying for overpriced chain salons like Headmasters give Shine a try.

Don't know to this day how she could have messed up!! We agreed 2 colours - a blonde which matched my hair perfectly and a darker blonde to give depth. Instead of the beautiful blonde I went in with, I came out with dark hair with light streaks! She didn't have the decency to admit to the mistake, saying it would wash out in a few weeks!! The ongoing lack of English, (how long has she been here?) and the lack of transparency about pricing (I had to ask for a receipt). You can only pay cash or a bank transfer - I would never give my account details to a stranger! She suddenly can't add when she gets to the cash register. I decided against going back to get it fixed as I believe she has neither the talent, skills, knowledge or good customer service to fix her mess! Genuinely, the worst salon I've ever been to! Sooner or later, she's going to mess up your hair too! Stay away!!! And don't fall for the "good" reviews!

Rebooked online and sent an email asking for cancellation of the Saturday appointment. Had my haircut on the Thursday assuming the Saturday appointment was cancelled - this was not the case and I kept getting calls & messages claiming I had missed my Sat appointment. In short, the owner said I must be charged for this missed appointment. I reminded him I had cancelled by email only to be told he does not read emails everyday. The lady who cuts my hair knows me very well so she knew I was at the salon on the Thursday but she too left me voicemails asking if I was turning up on the Saturday. I asked how much they will charge me for the "missed appointment" - cancellation of which they failed to pick up as they do not read their emails regularly. They did not reply. I will no longer be visiting this salon or recommending it to my friends/family.

So on Tuesday's, if you book a cut and colour, the colour is half price! Which is what I always do. And they also give you a loyalty card which does entice you to come back. I arrived and within a minute was checked in and told to sit in the waiting area. After a couple of minutes my hairdresser came over and discussed with me what I wanted done. As I was going for a cut and colour, she discussed with me what colour I wanted and how I wanted the cut, advising me on what would suit me and what wouldn't. She then mixed the dye up in the back and put it on. Whilst it was on she checked it and massaged it in when necessary and took it off at the right time before cutting and styling it. I was also offered and given tea and water (although there was other options available). The service is great and you really do leave feeling like you've been pampered!
