At Studio Stage Door all stylists are Japanese and a big chunk of their clientele is Japanese as well. I like this very much, as I kind of feel transported into another world when I come here to get my hair cut. I especially enjoy the lively chatter in a tongue that seems so familiar yet is still so different from either of the languages that I speak. It is at moments like this, when I'm absolutely thrilled to live in a cosmopolitain city! Originally, I heard about this place through my partner who is Asian and who treasures the special skills of the stylists here: they know how to handle the straight & often tricky hair so typical for the Asian people. But also, they also still master the art of a full-fledged scissors hair-cut...no razors allowed! Last but not least, everybody here is just super-friendly and always welcomes you with a bright smile.

Took an hour to do a pretty basic haircut, i have short hair, just needed a re-shape nothing fancy, a bob haircut. My head looks like an egg right now, i was even asked at work today : did you wear a hat that your hair is so flat??? So really sorry but i was better off cutting myself, because she was a complete amateur and my hair looks terrible just before holiday. The only way to fix it is to shave maybe......

Paige cut and blow dried my hair; fringe and layering. The fringe is perfect modern and messy! i also love the layers they make my hair lighter and the shape is perfect. She asked lots of questions about how i like my hair and listened to how i wear it day to day ect. so she could cut it perfectly. Paige was lovely and friendly and professional. 10/10 would recommend, thank you so much!!

Barrons has been here for a long time - so it's formula must be working. Staff are good at what they do - you're guaranteed of a good cut, colour, blowdry. They also have a portrait photography studio downstairs. Barrons are also very particular about the products they use : Phyto, Nioxin and Aveda and they avoid the scary chemical stuff. I've tried a few of the other salons in MH, and would rate Barrons as one of the top salons in the area.
