Found this place through reviews. Right when I arrived, Martyn offered me a cup of tea, which was lovely. Amy is a genuine sweetheart and she knew what I wanted when I showed her pictures, and gave input when I asked. The haircut was exactly what I wanted and I finally felt fabulous for my honeymoon. I wish I could go to Amy all the time, even though I live in the States (where I haven't found a regular hairdresser). Maybe I should move to London! With that said, I've got a reasonable eye for when a haircut is good, and when it's dire, given that I have to endure the new barnet for a couple of months. Jair (I'm assuming is the owner's name) was friendly, efficient, and most importantly gave me a good hair cut for a very reasonable £15, which by London standards seems fair to me (I'm used to paying 20+). No complaints at all, definitely one of the better places in the area for a cut.

This location is tiny! And there's no mobile phone reception so make sure to ask for the wifi password if you have to wait. More importantly: Arkin is a hair wizard. Most of her clientele are local ladies of a certain age to whom Michelle provides a charming and sometimes necessary service, particularly for those who are not able to wash their hair themselves for medical reasons. I always looked out for KGB/ groupon deals as I only want a cut and don't want to pay £100 for a trim but after some bad experiences I thought I would give Michelle's a go as I have been past it a few times. She is so friendly and completely understood my neurosis about having my hair cut too short. When my friend cut my hair I could just say things like 'a bit choppy' or 'a bit messy' and she knew what I was getting at and so did Michelle so for the 1st time since moving to London I actually have the hair cut I wanted and couldn't explain!
