This time I wasn't disappointed, I've been unhappy with my highlights for some time and so I was happy to take on the stylist's suggestion to have three different types of blond put through my hair. After the stylist finished I was amazed, it looked so much better than it had before and to think that I had originally toyed with the idea of putting brown highlights through my hair as I was afraid it was starting to look too blond! The hairdresser clearly knew what she was doing though and I'm very pleased with the result. Staff were attentive throughout my stay and I was served tea, water and given a nice selection of magazines to read while being fussed over. The shampoo and head-massage that I recieved was lovely and relaxing and the hair products put on my hair smelt fantastic. The shop also contains a beauty store featuring some slightly more unique brands to those that are offered on the high-street and prices are reasonable. Tucked away from Regent's Street on one of the side streets it may be difficult to find, but it's definitely worth the search.

There are some real gems here, such as the Comptoir Sud range of fragrance, as well as the Crazy Libulelle solid perfume range, and some other fab things like Nars and Egyptian magic balm (an amazing all purpose wonder that is now a staple for me!) The colourist then came for a consult, and I discussed my hair history with her (years of dying it black myself with only a recent salon-quality lightener to lift the colour to brown), and we decided on a semi-permanent colour. The service itself took about as much time as I would have expected, and the assistant gave me a relaxing shampoo. Both the colourist and assistant were chatty, although the overall vibe of the salon wasn't particularly welcoming so I felt a bit awkward throughout the experience. Overall, the salon experience was pretty average and the price was par for central London; I had no immediate complaints after leaving, but I also had nothing particularly good to say about the salon. I went to Ella's last night for a manicure and had one of…read morethe worst salon experiences of my life: I would never go again. Firstly, the salon is dirty. The nail area cushions are ripped, there are cracks in the furniture and none of the equipment was cleaned before or after it was used on me. Secondly, I had a dreadful experience with my manicure. I asked the technician if they had shellac and she told me they did but I don't think she had a clue what she was talking about. She sighed when I said I wanted my nails filed round not square, and tutted and rolled her eyes when I changed my mind about the colour I wanted, before any colour had been applied. Also, the quality of polish is low: Barry M and a lot of other tired looking, cheap brands. I don't mind a bit of Barry M at home but it's not what I want when I've asked for shellac! The dryer she had looked like a Barbie one and was as effective as a sparrow yawning on my nails. Added to this, she kept messing up the polish, so taking it off and reapplying. After one hour and 20 minutes of this, I said I had to leave and she tried to charge me £20, even though the sign on the wall said a manicure was £8. When I questioned this she said she's used shellac and when I pointed out that she hadn't used shellac but Barry M, suddenly she couldn't understand what I was talking about. I was so upset by the experience I paid, left, and burst into tears as soon as I walked out the door. Dreadful. My manicure began to peel the same night too. One to avoid.

Then you lie down on this brilliant massage bed, you close your eyes and you relax while your hair is being washed and your back is being massaged, such a treat. My hair was cut by this lovely French guy Fabrice, with whom i had a great chat and when he was finished i looked all beautiful and glamourous! And it was not even expensive!!
