Those tacos were excellent. Seared chicken yum. Everything tasted so fresh. We'll definitely be back to this cute little spot!

Everything was awesome-- especially the lamb pizza and flautas special. Kind service, too! We'll be back!

BYOB tequila and they'll make your Margarita table side with freshly made mixer !
Bex Y.

Food was absolutely incredible. Every single dish was thoughtful and delicious. Margarita mixer was home made and so fresh. Such a level of detail and care. Like eating in someone's home. Lamb pizza ridiculously tasty. The lava rock mixed grill so very impressive. Ordered the special appetizer which was my favorite dish all evening: chorizo and potato / chicken flautas served in a lava bowl with a delicious bed of tastiness underneath. The flan had a chia seed like grain which added texture and balance to the sweetness. The server explained the ingredient (can't recall the name). It was really neat to learn about the local flavors used deliberately to make the food authentic to the chef's hometown. The space was cute and cozy. Just wow from start to finish. Will absolutely be back!

Tonalli is absolutely amazing. Perfect BYOB Mexican spot with great pizza too. We ordered the nachos, al pastor tacos, and their el patriota pizza and everything tasted so fresh and was cooked perfectly.

South Philly Barbacoa - Tacos de Barbacoa

The bar has a fantastic variety of tangy, spicy, bright toppings and salsas to make your taco your own. My favorite is always the reddish orange salsa and this one tastes just like the taco places back in Texas. The tacos are hefty, so that makes up for the slightly higher than average price. They didn't have jamaica when I went so they subbed in mango juice and it was incredible, my new go-to. Service is friendly, fast and there's plenty of seating and a nice outdoor space.

Booths and bar seating is available as well as a patio on weekends. It is located in a sketchy area but a police car is stationed on the corner. I felt as safe as I do in other areas of Philly. Street parking is available within a few feet. The cocktails were very good with many different kinds of margs and other drinks. Beer and wine are also available. We were greeted as soon s we walked in by both the bartender and one of the owners. Our server brought water as soon as we sat down. She was attentive and helpful with explanations. The food here is authentic! Several different kinds of guacamole are available. We chose the one with pomegranate. It added a nice crunch and flavor. One with grasshopper was available. lol that was a no for me! The trio of empanadas were delicious. We shared a carnitas taco platter and branzino platter. The tacos were tasty. The branzino was cooked nicely with good flavor. The rice and beans and Brussels spouts and mushrooms were all delicious. I'll definitely be back!

The meat in the tacos was so dry that it was hard to chew and swallow. Some of the pieces were cooked to a crisp. No amount of salsa could make them better. I'm sorry I didn't take photos of the tacos, but trust me me I get no pleasure from leaving a bad review for this place; I am not lying or exaggerating. I thought they were going to be one of our local gems. I choked down a half a taco, gave the rest to my husband and he couldn't eat them either. The churros actually had raw batter in the middle and the outside was rubbery and hard at the same time. You could barely bite through it. I'm a cook and I know that that is about keeping the oil at an even temperature to get the inside done and not overcook the outside. Someone in the kitchen did not know what they were doing. The thing is, I have had their food before and it was pretty good. I don't know if there is a new chef or what happened, but I can't trust them after this experience.

I'd highly recommend combining the Taco…read moreTuesday deal with their Happy Hour deals for a filling and relatively cheap meal! --- My party of 4 made a reservation for Rosy's Taco Bar and were seated ASAP at a table in the back. The service was fast to get us seated, take our order, and bring our food. The interior exudes taco bar vibes, decorated with Christmas lights, and is bigger than it appears from the outside. The metal chairs are a bit light, so just be careful getting up. It wasn't too loud considering the amount of people inside, and we even saw a good number of families. There is a hot sauce bar, which isn't really advertised, but you can take a bottle back to your table for seasoning. We ordered the (1) pollo (chicken) tinga, (2) carnitas, and (3) vegetarian (mushroom) tacos for the $1.33/taco Taco Tuesday deal (minimum of 3 tacos per type required). From the Happy Hour $5 menu, we ordered the (1) chorizo quesadilla, (2) classic house margaritas, and (3) churros. Overall: -The pollo tinga tacos were a bit dry, even though there was crema, and we felt there was more lettuce than other filling. When we added a hot sauce from the sauce bar to these, we enjoyed them more. Otherwise, we'd pass. -The carnitas tacos were delicious! Full of filling and juicy, we would reorder these for sure again. -The vegetarian mushroom tacos were good, juicy and flavorful. However, we preferred the carnitas tacos. Probably pass next time. -The chorizo quesadilla was awesome. Super flavorful, great cheese ratio, and not too greasy. It was more toasted instead of crispy, which I prefer. We'd definitely reorder these too. -The house margaritas come with either tajin, sugar, or salt on their rims. Great drink at a great price. -Lastly, the churros were pretty average, but really hit the spot! Rosy's Taco Bar promises cheap tacos and drinks for Taco Tuesday, and I'd say it certainly delivers. We had a great time, and I'd recommend anyone craving cheap tacos to stop by on Tuesday!
