a close up of a pile of dirt
    Jim D.

Their processed topsoil looks like it's mostly clay with some mulch, manure, and gravel (?) added to the mix. I hope my grass can grow in this stuff. On the plus side, delivery was prompt.

A little surprised and disappointed to have four wheelbarrow loads of bark and trash come along with just one cord of wood. Grr.

A tree we purchased 10 months ago has not been doing well. It has been properly planted and cared for-even "babied" along-and still not doing well. We are not at all new to tree planting or basic knowledge, so to have this kind of issue is very very rare for us. We have inquired back with Browns 3 times now as to what we can do to help this tree make it, and have gotten zero help or answers this far. We are getting the feeling that they are just waiting for our 1 year from purchase guarantee to pass by so that they can skip their commitment. We do not necessarily want the tree to be replaced, we want their input to know to make this tree thrive better and we are not getting it. Our next tree/shrubs may be coming from someplace else. Update from initial paragraphs above... absolutely zero "customer service" for the tree, and our time ran out. We had to cut it down. $300+ in the burn pile. I very rarely give a business this kind of review, but I honestly feel that this was warranted. We played by all of their retune/customer purchase rules and guidelines, and they did nothing.

Lewis tree service I will try to make this a short post…read more Yeah.... Like THAT'S going to happen. You guys know me right? About two months ago, my doorbell rang right below the NO SOLICITORS sign. It was DP&L. They informed me that they would be trimming the tree branches over the power lines. FOR FREE! So yesterday Lewis tree service was on Robin Road and did a fantastic job! When I walked my client out the door? Seven Puerto Ricans were napping in my yard. SIESTA! I am not a racist as I taught at Dunbar and love that area of Puerto Rico so much that I spent a year there. Beautiful place. And the food? Do not get me started, MUVHANGO! It was 94 degrees outside so I bring out seven red solo cups of Ice water. Auga con heilo. They looked like they were exhausted. Only one could sort of speak Anglaise, English. It was a great opportunity to speak Spanish again. I felt so bad for them that I brought out my leaf blower and blasted them with a welcomed breeze. I was going inside? Uno mass por favor! Again please? Bottom line? Great people. Great Company. I live in the forest by Golden Nugget and if I were to pay them? It would cost about two thousand dollars. It is like I got my winter DP&L bill for free! Vio Con Dios..... DP&L? Gracias!

After they completed the work, they seeded the area where their dingo had gone over my grass....and then they placed a mesh strip over it to protect it while the grass grew. Today, they were back to remove the mesh, re-seed the area, and then used leaf blowers to clean up the driveway and the yard. I have high standards....and these guys exceeded them. Hats off to Jeff Hendrix, the project manager who stepped into the job midway through and didn't drop a single ball. Great value.

First and perhaps the most impressive is their communication. I get updates about here's what we're gonna do, this is why were doing and when it will happen. If I have any concerns, I can send them an email and that message gets transferred to the crew on my property to address. From my perspective, they seem meticulous in their attention to detail. For example, when weeding they get the obvious stuff and the weeds in various nooks and crannies. They are also very through on cleanup. When trimming, each shrub is evaluated to make sure it's trimmed with care. Price is not cheap so this level of service costs more than a boilerplate approach. I'm a very happy customer.

My friend's son was not able to make it into town, so I appreciate how prompt and how quick they responded to my ask for help to do snow removal the last minute. They got here and got it done, and they gave a fair quote to do the driveway and walk way. I came home after a 2.5 hour commute that is usually 1 hour on awful roads to a clear driveway and is done for me to get up in the AM to do the awful commute again. This paramedic appreciates your help at the last minute since being essential cannot call into work. Thank you for a great job with snow removal!

They arrived with in 30 minutes of the quoted time. After looking at the situations, we asked for a quote for just tree cutting (cutting the fallen tree to manageable sections) and one quote for complete removal. The complete removal was quoted to be $1400. I said that it sounded great and asked him to please send me a written quote to ensure that the price and work expectations will be the same. He said okay, and asked me to text the email to him. Within roughly less than 3 hours, and 4 exchanges... he finally sent me a written quote of $2100. When inquired if it was an error, he texted back and said "It's not a mistake; sometimes it happens when you look for several quotes and then you make a decision" 10:20 I texted my email to him as requested at the end of meeting 11:50 He texted me and that he sent the quote. He only sent for cut only, not for cut and haul. So I immediately asked for a full clearing quote. 1:09 I get the quote for full clear and asked if it was an error - much more than discussed 1:19 he said "It's not a mistake; sometimes it happens when you look for several quotes and then you make the decisions." A company that literally jacked up your price because you were shopping for a quote - is not trustworthy to perform work without written quote.. Would not recommend work without written quote for buyer protection. We did not have them waiting for an unreasonable amount of time by any stretch of the imagination - most of it was waiting for them to send me written quotes. Pictures just to give you the idea of how interested I was and really wanted a written estimate.
