I sent a message via Yelp on a Sunday night and they immediately scheduled our oven troubleshooting for Monday afternoon. Their front office staff is incredibly responsive! George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. Astera will be getting first crack at all of my appliance and HVAC service calls going forward.

They did an absolutely fantastic job installing a new furnace and a/c unit in my house. They far exceeded my expectations and did a more than complete job, replacing everything inside and outside including new electrical, sheet metal, pad , humidifier, electrostatic filter, flue, thermostat and even provided a new condensate pump. I did not expect all that I got and could not ask for more! All this and completed the same day we made the agreement!

Communication lapses do happen,that would have taken 1 star off the review if that was it. But quoting 3x the price for as far as I can see a very similar unit is still mind boggling. My quoting agent sold the known higher costs in general as the value of the 100% satisfaction guarantee, but from what I've read in other reviews, people are having a hard time getting covered repairs or replacements done at all. Again the person contacting me to try to resolve my concerns seemed very sincere, but I still would NOT consider using Precision Today as my HVAC hardware or service provider. Precision Today purchased Miller's Area Heating, which was highly recommended by two different friends. I requested a quote from Precision re: a replacement boiler for the radiant baseboard system in my house. After a good phone response the first day, I had no confirmation to set up the actual quote visit. After a mid-day call to them, they gave me a 3;30-5:00 window that day. At 5:55 I got a call saying the agent was on my doorstep. After reviewing my system, I was quoted $22,000, AFTER DISCOUNTS. My research indicated it should be about $4.000- $9,000 for a new boiler and install. I then read many Yelp reviews and saw reports similar to my experience; bad communication and very very high quotes and charges for relatively simple repairs/replacements. Also bad reports on following through with their lofty guarantees, which I mention because those are the reported reasoning behind their admittedly high prices. Very unfortunate.

I said afternoon, please. On Monday about 4 o'clock I called to check on the status. They told me there would be no one out because I was on the waitlist. Waitlist? Why didn't anyone tell me about a waitlist when I first scheduled the call. I asked where I was on the waitlist and was told I was number 10. They said I would be scheduled if someone canceled their appointment and it was unlikely that anyone would be out within the next week. I understand this business was sold since they originally installed my unit. They might want to revisit their customer service policy.

They said they could come out on Tuesday for service. They asked morning or afternoon. I said afternoon please because I have a doctors appointment in the morning. She said it'll be between one and five. At 4:30 PM on Tuesday. I hadn't received a call so I called to check on the status of the service. I was told at that time that I didn't have an actual appointment, I was on standby. Standby? What the heck is standby? Standby means that if they have a cancellation, they would work through their standby list. After some discussion I found out I was 10th on the list. That probably means I would have Service sometime in July or August. I can't believe that they run a company that wouldn't tell me about standby when I booked the appointment. Why would they ask morning or afternoon if they weren't even sure whether they were going to be here. I am a very dissatisfied customer and found another heating and air conditioning service that will be out here tomorrow.
