Paula said, "we can have a teammate to you in a few hours. I will call you when he's 10 minutes out." Since I live 12 minutes from home. Perfect Got my call from the Miller office "our tech is on the way" and was out the door at work. Arrived to meet Dan ready to go. 15 minutes into the diagnostic - fixed. Bad igniter. Some checking of the PC board and he changed our filter. No b.s. about a bunch of repairs the home owner would need to deal with, just a great attitude of CAN DO - FOR YOU Much appreciated "Miller Team". I called for an appointment on Friday to service my air conditioning. He said they would send someone out on Monday. They asked if I preferred morning or afternoon. I said afternoon, please. On Monday about 4 o'clock I called to check on the status. They told me there would be no one out because I was on the waitlist. Waitlist? Why didn't anyone tell me about a waitlist when I first scheduled the call. I asked where I was on the waitlist and was told I was number 10. They said I would be scheduled if someone canceled their appointment and it was unlikely that anyone would be out within the next week. I understand this business was sold since they originally installed my unit. They might want to revisit their customer service policy. read more

I returned from Florida and Saturday was the first time I turned on the air conditioning. Not working. I called Miller heating because they originally installed the unit. They said they could come out on Tuesday for service. They asked morning or afternoon. I said afternoon please because I have a doctors appointment in the morning. She said it'll be between one and five. At 4:30 PM on Tuesday. I hadn't received a call so I called to check on the status of the service. I was told at that time that I didn't have an actual appointment, I was on standby. Standby? What the heck is standby? Standby means that if they have a cancellation, they would work through their standby list. After some discussion I found out I was 10th on the list. That probably means I would have Service sometime in July or August. I can't believe that they run a company that wouldn't tell me about standby when I booked the appointment. Why would they ask morning or afternoon if they weren't even sure whether they were going to be here. I am a very dissatisfied customer and found another heating and air conditioning service that will be out here tomorrow. read more

We have used Miller Area Heating of Grayslake for about 20+ years and found them to be fair reasonable and operating with integrity. Our last house we installed a complete Trane system and it was incredible. In our new home we replaced the construction grade one speed system with a Trane variable speed high efficiency heat and AC system. Yes a new system is costly but the results are much improved and Miller Area Heating of Grayslake has done another great service. read more

Millers has been a reliable and straightforward service provider for me since 2017. They recently installed a new furnace. Complaint--I called last week to make sure that I'd get the right new filter. . Instead of saying, "this is what you need," they asked is I were a club member @ $20 per month, told me to check the measurements on the new filter they installed, there would be a large service fee to install the new replacement filter. This is a new furnace, I'm happy to buy and install the new filter myself, but wanted to make sure I was purchasing the correct one. Not a satisfactory answer at all. Seemed more interested in getting me to sign a service contact than answer a simple question. Disappointed. read more

Appointment was scheduled for today. After waiting an hour, called to see when they were coming. Was told that they canceled the appointment in their books because they were overbooked. We were never contacted of the cancellation. This happened twice with this company. No show, no call. Will not do business with them again. Wish I could give a zero rating. read more

I wish I could give this company 0 stars. The person that came out to our house (who I will respect by not naming) knew absolutely NOTHING about that they were selling, couldn't answer our questions, and gave us a quote that was almost $10,000 higher than another local company with a much better rating. I am extremely upset, especially since the second company said the system she had recommended couldn't be put in without violating safety codes (so our house wouldn't pass inspection) and was a risk for carbon monoxide poisoning because there isn't room for proper ventilation. She also promised all these other "air quality" improvements which the second company said isn't possible without changing our whole vent system. There's a clear lack of knowledge which could be deadly mixed with a combo of trying to just sell people the most expensive unit rather than what will work best for them. She also tried to bully us into making an immediate decision by claiming that if we didn't place the order within 48 hours the price would increase 20%. And when I asked MULTIPLE times when they would be able to get started there was no response. I can't believe this company could employ workers that put customers in danger with their inexperience. Recently had Millers Area Heating in Grayslake replace my old Lennox Furnace /AC with a new Trane S9V2 Furnace and a XR16 AC unit. From the initial quote estimates which were very competitive from Kevin (Sales) to the complete install team of Will, Juan, Martin and Cade, there was great communications, professional and knowledgeable efforts by the entire team. The quality of their workmanship was fantastic and all was done in an efficient manner. They removed all of the old equipment and cleaned up. Everyone answered all of my numerous questions about the new equipment, as well. I have not written a Yelp review in years, but my experience with Miller's made me want to log back on and share my experiences publicly. Wow, what a fantastic company to do business with. After another local company came out to diagnose an issue with our furnace, they left after doing a full and thorough analysis of what was going on, skipping something VERY important - a Carbon Monoxide test! I called Miller's and spoke with Holly from the office is professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, and made me immediately feel comfortable with working with them. When Miller's came to investigate the situation, they first attempted to repair the issue which would have saved us thousands of dollars. After the repair, Miller's technician did the proper follow-up testing and found CO (Carbon Monoxide) levels WAY, WAY above the acceptable levels. I learned that normally, CO levels are basically zero (Parts Per Million), but are acceptable at around 20 PPM. They typically shut a furnace down if the levels reach 100 PPM. When Miller's tech did the testing, ours was shooting off CO at a level of 1500 PPM! 15 times the limit of where they normally shut down a furnace! In our case, these CO levels were all being vented outside the house, so we didn't have these deadly levels inside the home, but any Furnace leaking these amounts of CO needs to be shut down IMMEDIATELY, which is exactly what we did. Thank heavens that Miller's technician did the job the RIGHT way, or my family could have been in incredible danger. Their installer, Mike, was also great. Extremely personable, professional, and stayed way longer than normal to make sure the job was done right. I will never look anywhere else than Miller's for my heating and cooling - they have won a customer for life! read more

The compressor went out on our 25 year old air conditioner the same day we signed a contract to replace our roof. As you can imagine, we were not prepared financially to replace both. Miller's salesman Kevin was able to come out within an hour to discuss our options for replacement. He was very helpful and friendly during a very stressful time. While they weren't immediately available for installation, they brought over and installed two wall units the same day. Once the installation was complete Kevin was quick to ensure satisfaction through both phone calls and texts. The owner seems to be uninterested in running a business. I've been a customer since 2010. I needed a new humidifier control installed and John Miller, presumably the Owner, hung up on me when I questioned the price he was quoting me for the labor. ($89 diagnostic plus $128 for the install). The price might have been fair, but I would think the owner here would be able to calmly break down and substantiate the price he's quoting instead of hanging up. I usually would not give another chance to a company that hangs up on me, but being local and loyal, I went to store/office in person to try and salvage the business (something he should be doing). He wasn't there, a salesperson would leave a message that I stopped in. Still no call back after three days. I'm done. Don't waste your time. We'd been having issues with our 2 furnaces so we made an appointment for a service call to clean and check the furnaces and boy are we glad they did. We had big issues (carbon dioxide) and our furnaces were deemed non usable. The tech showed my husband the exact problem and we decided to have Holly come out and give us an estimate on 2 new furnaces. She went through the entire process thoroughly and gave us a quote which we accepted. The Miller team came out and had us up and running in 2 days. A few years ago, I contacted Millers Area Heating. Kurt, the owner, was fantastic! She, yes she, was extremely helpful. She sent out her sales rep, Holli, who was very knowledgeable. We ended up buying our air conditioning unit with them and have been extremely happy ever since. We even had a coil issue with them and it was taken care of immediately.
