They said they would check it in a few weeks to see if it was leaking. When they came back, they said we had lost about 4 ounces of refrigerant and showed me where they found the leaks. They gave me a quote to replace the A/C. I checked with a few other contractors and they were more costly than Tom's quote. We have used them for many years and i am very confident with the quality ofwork they do. We made an appointment to have the system replaced. They came out on time, did the work efficiently and cleaned up when they were done. This morning,…read morewhile leaving Grayslake, I was cut off in traffic after making a left-hand turn onto rte 120 from hwy 45. As I was getting up to full speed + at least 10pmh over the speed limit on this stretch of road, I was passed by a van doing at least 70 in a 35-40, then the van slammed on the brakes so that I would have to as well and all of my belongings flew into the front seat; I admit, I wasn't on my best behavior either as I sped up when I noticed what he was obviously & illegally trying to do. This act was followed by continued bullying as we both drove west on 120, with the right lane being closed a short distance ahead due to road construction. The van (picture attached) then drove about 45, riding shotgun next to a construction vehicle, knowing that this vehicle would have to move to the right; he was hoping I would be cut off a second time. When I called the number on the van to report the driver, he laughed at me and called me a "F**king C**t" (when I came into full view of him as he merged onto 94E he was on older gentleman with gray hair & a moustache so I can only assume he was Tom Sr.). I would NOT want this person in my home--NOT ever. He doesn't respect or have regard for others, esp. women or Veterans (I am both--my car is clearly marked with both). We use Advantage Heating & Cooling for all our service needs, and they have always been extremely professional. Maybe that's why they have quite a few 1-star reviews on Google citing erratic driving & rudeness.

We decided to call Dave at Gotsch Heating and Cooling for a second opinion. He came out as soon as he was able and tested the unit to find out exactly what was wrong with it. He was able to tell us why our AC was dead and recommended that we replace the furnace and AC at the same time for a discount. He wasnt able to get the new AC installed in time for the heat wave to be over, but he did fill our leaking AC to get us enough cooling power to get us through. He installed the new units about a week later and did a great job. The pricing was fair and we got a discount as promised for doing both the AC and furnace. We'd definitely recommend.

Everything Mechanical, who had just done an outstanding job on an emergency, after-hours, A/C repair, for me, last week, said that they'd be happy to get it replaced for me. They worked with me, to get the job scheduled, quickly. On the day of the installation Dan, and Kyle, arrived, laid down tarps to protect my tile floor, and carpeted stairway, from any dirt, or damage, and got right to work. They made short work of removing the old water heater, and getting the new unit installed. Both of them were friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient while getting the job accomplished. It was more than double the amount it should have been and when I questioned it he attempted to give me a whole bunch of lies!!!
