Zero stars. Staff looked at my truck and the lighting I wanted installed. They gave me a date (week and a half away) and a time and a price. I showed up on time ready to have a professional instal. 1.5 hours later the guy working on my truck says he can't figure out how to install the lights. Says its a problem with the truck. I asked why they didn't know that when i first visited to make the appointment and he got belligerent. He started cursing at me and making lame excuses for why he could not do the job. Had a temper tantrum like a little child and continued to curse at me....me being the customer trying to bring them paying business. Please let these people go out of business. They are totally unprofessional and obviously don't know how to deal with late model trucks. I later got my lights installed correctly by a rebulatable provider and they work great. Don't waste your time at this place. They are rude, unprofessional, and obviously do not have the knowledge to work on late model trucks. His behavior reminded mr of my 10 year old grandchild. I hope this "man" is ashamed of his childish behavior and his poor representation of this failing business. Z read more

So I decided to treat my ole' Jeep to a suspension upgrade, rebuilt front end, tires and wheels. Co-workers recommended a local shop but I went with Tom's due to Facebook reviews and a neighbor who thought highly of their work. I spent over $2,000 and when I went to pick it up, puddles of brake fluid was on the ground. I assumed it was water until I asked to drive it before paying. "Sure but watch those brakes, their shot!" I was told they nearly drove my Jeep through their garage wall and that was after I drove it from Greensboro, NC on I-40 to Winston-Salem, NC and south on Hwy 52. My wife followed me and will swear in court under oath that we 'averaged' 70-75 mph. When I got in it, the E-Brake light was on and the brake peddle went to the floor. I drove through the parking lot and parked it. I go inside to be berated by the guy who worked on my Jeep. "That's what I get trying to help someone! Working on their junk! I never seen so much rust on a Jeep like that. I worked 15 hours on that piece of crap! You brought that piece of junk here cause you couldn't do the work yourself!" Every time I tried to talk, I was interrupted. "We didn't mess up your brakes, the lines were routed out. There is no brake pads on that crap." I asked if there was a shop I could take it to. "Yeah, down the street. I'll call them." Another $120 and my brakes were fixed by replacing the rear brake lines. They had loaded my old wheels and tires in the rear hatch area without putting them in plastic bags like every shop I've ever done business with has done. Imagine what my carpet, the back of the rear seat and side panels looked like after driving home. Never in my life...have I seen such a mess! Did I mention my ole' girl never got above 72 mph going home? She felt like she was bound up into a ball. Suspension squeaked, popped and cracked over every bump. 'They destroyed my girl' was all I could think of. So how's my Jeep doing now? I drove it home, parked it and made an appointment to get it into the first mechanic I was told about. He explained that in his twenty-five years as a business owner has he ever seen such a botched job. He has had it the last 7 days and is nowhere near being done. Yep, that sound you hear is money leaving my wallet. I am still debating to take legal action. After I get the bill from the mechanic who has her now, I decide my next step. So why the Yelp review? To warn those people who have saved their hard earned money to have Tom's 4x4 do the work on their vehicle. If you go there after reading this review, I can't help you. If you read my review and think about the details I have gave. Think about the time it took me to write this review. Pause and ask if Tom's says "that guy is a liar" does it make him a liar? No. I wish this could have been a glowing review because I gave my money and my Jeep to them and trusted them. They trusted me to pay them and I did. I never asked for a discount or my money back. When I got ready to pay, they reduced my bill by approximately $300. Don't fall into the thought, " they were cool to give that dude some money back." They did that so if I take them to small claims court the judge will see their good faith attempt to rectify their errors. Crafty business dealings are not my style. Being honest and paying my bill was what I did. I hope you are smart enough to never go here. If they use to be a good shop, they can be once again but it will only happen after they make some changes and terminate the guy who screwed-up my Jeep. You've been warned!! read more
