Piece of plastic found in taco

I went and got some breakfast tacos after work. While eating my bacon egg and cheese, unfortunately I bit into a piece of plastic that was located inside of my taco. Fortunately I didn't consume this unknown piece of plastic. Hopefully the cooks will see this and be more careful when preparing food. Tacos were good nonetheless but I guess check the insides before you eat it or give it to a loved one. Unfortunate situation and ruined my appetite.

Great food always . One of the best for simple Mexican food. Not sure why this isn't above a 4.0

Got 2 bacon & egg with extra cheese, 1 potato & egg, and 1 bean & cheese. You call in your order and wait in line until you get to the front door, not the best setup. The line blocks several parking spots, and exiting is a bit of a challenge. A worker asked for my name, went inside, then came back out with a bag with my order. She took my card and took my food back inside as well. She didn't bring the food or my card (and receipt) back until after she brought the food for the car in front of me. Kind of strange thing to do.

Stopped in here one weekday for lunch... this place was packed at lunch time and people kept shuffling through for carryout too! They have pretty friendly and helpful service, which is always nice. Their menu is standard and very reasonably priced. I tried puffy tacos for the first time and they were great! The tortilla that was fried was perfect, not too crunchy to where it would fall apart, just perfect! The meat in the beef was decent, but the meat in the chicken one was bland. Their nachos are unique, as they are individual tortilla chips with each one topped with meat, etc. Salsas was nice - spicy and fresh! Overall, I liked Tommy's and can see returning!

Triple threat! (Our typical order) carne guisada with cheese, barbacoa, chorizo and papa

Always a hearty and welcoming experience. You definitely get the biggest bang for your buck on everything on the menu! Texas taco staples and homemade style tortillas are hands down the best quality and the reason I'll never be skinny! The staff treats everyone like a regular and they keep calm even in the busiest times! The food is always consistent and goodness for the tummy!

**For this review and more follow my insta @dish_360 The Good: I love Tommys I'm a big fan of their carne guisada with cheese. If you're looking for a soup their menudo is a good choice too.Serving sizes are normally pretty generous and they've recently completed renovations to offer more spacious accommodations. . The Bad: We tried the lengua and I wasn't in love with it. The sauce didn't have much flavor to offer. In all fairness, it's the only thing I've eaten there that I didn't enjoy. I've been here several times and on occasion food gets served colder than it should be. It's always rectified but those inconsistencies keep it from being a 5 for me. Not to be picky but when you're hangry and you have to wait to get your stuff warmed or remade it kinda hurts The Aftermath: I love super complex meals but it's nice to have familiar comfort food from time to time. If you enjoy tacos I highly recommend this place. The servers are typically very friendly and the food is great. Expect to leave FULL. **For this review and more follow my insta @dish_360

juevos rancheros (scrambled) with a side of carne guisada. Note: I added the pepper; it didn't come that way.

Tommy's is one of my favorite go to Tex-Mex restaurants in town. Their food is solid from top to bottom and hey, who doesn't like barbacoa and big red. On this occasion, I stopped in for breakfast and ordered the juevos rancheros (scrambled) with a side of carne guisada and corn tortillas. The order came out fairly quickly and looked appetizing. The eggs were scrambled nicely, the ranchero sauce was zesty, the potatoes were nice and crispy and the beans were seasoned well. The corn tortillas that came with the order were larger and thicker than most. It would be nice if they were a little bit thinner but that's just me. Our server was attentive and friendly and since we beat the morning rush we made it in and out in about 30 minutes. Needless to say, I'll be back to Tommy's and I do recommend this place to anyone craving some good Tex-Mex. Please note: the picture I attached shows the pepper I added after it was served to me. It was not brought out of the kitchen that way and I didn't want anyone to assume they use that much pepper. It is just my personal preference.

    Nice interior.

So, the first time I came here was well over a year ago; I had breakfast tacos because I heard "that's what you do there". I can remember not being all that impressed. Don't get me wrong, the tacos were good, but for me...they fell into the "nothing to write home about" category of "good". It's tough to stand out in breakfast taco city, U.S.A. Since my first visit, the place has been renovated, and I'm glad. Pre-renovation, I just couldn't see myself going back...it was honestly about the decor and how cramped the restaurant felt before they extended that front wall.... Going in there today, the place is brighter and more colorful. I really like what they did with the renovation. Went about 7:30 this morning - the place was not very crowded. Service was fast and friendly. Opted for two breakfast tacos: one bacon and egg, and one potato, egg, and chorizo. They were both very good. I particularly liked the chorizo; it was flavorful without being too spicy. It was also nicely crumbled. The bacon was cooked perfectly to my liking - not a huge fan of overly crispy bacon...especially in a breakfast taco. Overall, I'll be going back. I need to try their lunch. Just a note - not a huge fan of the parking lot. First, I guarantee you the lot gets pretty full and tight when the place is packed. Also - saw no less than three cars this morning attempt to bypass the light at Wurzbach and Gardendale...by cutting through the lot behind Tommy's...and they really come zipping through that lot. Be careful.

Service is fast, place is decently clean for the foot traffic, the servers all look happy and eager to work. I ordered tortilla soup, I usually like it with a cup of rice and avocado like most places serve it. However, I definitely think this is a safe Mexican food restaurant when it comes to not overdoing it with spices and the extra stuff. My soup had a decent amount of chicken. I had a mimosa, loved that they used fresh orange juice. Flour tortillas were delicious! Before heading out you need to have the sweet bread!! So goooodd!

People say when in San Antonio, do like the San Antonian's. Nobody really says that. I mean, I just…read moredid, but I also just made it up. With that being said, let's make up a review. Except I'm not actually making the review up, I've been to the place. Both San Antonio and the restaurant moments away from being reviewed. I'm always down for solid Mexican food. It's always pretty damn good. I mean, at the pure base of things, it's basically the same few ingredients, just different vessels to get it to your mouth. I'm never bad about that. I love transportation. Mi Tierra was a pretty great looking place. Plenty of space, a nice outside waiting area, plus a bakery. I have never been to a place with a bakery that I didn't like. It seemed like a very authentic place, and that's coming from a resident of Michigan. A resident that eats Taco Bell. A resident who eats Taco Bell and think's THAT'S authentic Mexican. The first thing I noticed was that this place did not seem to serve burritos. Not a marker really for me, but it was something I've never came across before. I also thought that you were stuck ordering enchiladas or tacos in a meal type of setting. Upon further questioning, you can order a la cart. That was a relief. I ended up ordering the enchiladas Verdes because sometimes I ignore my color palate and go for green. And because I can't just stop eating one form of meat, cheese, and sauce, I ordered a taco. Actually, I just ordered a taco because I wanted a dryer enchilada. Or did I order the enchiladas because I wanted a wetter taco...I don't know anymore. Anywho, I ground beef, American style taco. Now, I've always been a big fan of chips and salsa. Some salsa hits, some miss. Some salsa is pureed and is basically red water. Some salsa is just a full tomato. I like my salsa like I like my orange juice. With extra calcium. Wait. Mild pulp. That's it. This salsa pretty much hit those notes. Had good flavor and a little spice left to linger. The main course came out and everything looked delicious. Green enchiladas looked exactly like I expected. However, it took me a moment to realize I was not looking at a burrito...but instead, my taco. It was served a peculiar way. wrapped, seam down, with a little bit of the meat on top, pico and lettuce on the outside, next to it. It was a burrito peacocking as a taco. I've never seem this display before, and I have been to many Taco Bell and non-Taco Bell restaurants. The taste was pretty good, though. All the taco flavor in a burrito jacket. The enchiladas were pretty decent, too. Everything tasted like it had all the ingredients and that they were in all the right spots. No doubt about it, I was full after e

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
