We are from Toronto who happened to be in Sudbury for business trip. Decided to try this place due to high google rating. The place is not easily spot. But google map is bang-on! Very nice restaurant. Love the fragrance as soon as we walk in. Nice decor/staircase. Impeccable service! Very delish food, from appetizer to dessert. Unforgettable dessert (bread pudding with mango peach and vanilla ice cream) was perfect 'closing'. Will definitely go back if we are in the area again. read more

2 thumbs up! Haven't been here in awhile so I chose it tonight for a reunion of old family friends. We had a fabulous dinner, as always. Started off with a platter of their famous calamari to share with a nice Pinot. Yum. It was done to perfection with just enough zing. I kept it simple for my starter with the best caesar salad in Sudbury. Some serious garlic, huge hunks of fresh parm and crispy bacon done to perfection. For mains we all kept it simple with back ribs or steaks. Sometimes, the most familiar item is the most satisfying. We shared a taste of each others food. The ribs were falling off the bone. Portions were so generous, we got to take some home. The steaks were melt-in-your-mouth. Side veggies nicely done. A very simple meal done to perfection. Great value and excellent service with our man Jake, my buddy Chef Matt in the kitchen and overall a wonderful experience. I love this place. I was a walk-in and was served. Server was very good and checked in on my meal often. I ordered the filet wrapped in bacon (medium) with veggies and a skillet of mushrooms. While I waited for my food, I couldn't help but think that I was sitting in Hell's Kitchen. The chefs were having a discussion on how a cook had to walk to work... during this discussion there must have been 20 F-bombs. I am not a prude, but when I want fine dining for $50+ a plate I expect professionalism and good food. The steak was at best a medium. The veggies were cooked well and the taste was good. To sum it up, I would give this place another shot with a different dish and distance from the kitchen. read more

Dinner at Tommy's is always a treat and this was no exception. Tonight was a pre-lockdown Christmas celebration, so we went all-out and decided to go decadent. Of course Tommy's was the best choice for this. We decided to share everything and just nibble as we sipped on some fine wine. The Angels&Cowboys was a perfect recommendation by our waiter. Nicest cab I've had in recent memory. We took the name of the rep and will be ordering a case. Simply superb. For apps, we inadvertently went with a mushroom theme, which worked out well. Our shared apps included the portobello mushroom crostini, delicate and crunchy at the same time. I devoured mine in 3 bites. The portobello stacker is always satisfying and my favourite menu item. I should have ordered one just for me. Third was that famous warm spinach salad. Wow. Sweet and complex flavours of maple, balsamic and again with more mushrooms. Unreal. Nearby tables acknowledged our orgasmic smiles and moans. Mains were simple and elegant. I got the lamb shank with the famous risotto suggested by chef Matt. Unreal. My dinner guest had the ravioli. I ate 1/4 of hers because it was insanely sublime. My lamb was falling off the bone and sent shivers down my neck with the first bite. Why can't I cook like this? Amazzzing. Dessert measured up, too. She had a simply perfect creme brule and i devoured a Christmas pudding with a mountain of cream on top. Thick and hearty but not too sweet. Three hours later, after some fancy coffees, we were floating in heaven. Food should be celebrated and this place give us reason to love life, even in weird times. Support local businesses. These guys do everything right. Tommy's is, by far, Sudbury's best kept secret. Excellent service, superb food with nice understated vibe... and excellent value. This is by far the best restaurant in Sudbury. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, the atmosphere and the service. The thing I have to say I loved the most though was the fact that the servers were knowledgeable about the food and ingredients, they were attentive and not just there to look good and collect tips, they genuinely are good at their jobs and care about providing good customer service. That is almost impossible to find these days. I will definitely be going back. read more

This is one of the best places that I have had the privilidge of eating in. The wait staff are fantastic, and the food is consistently fresh, delicious and prepared perfectly. Everything is good, but what I recall as being great: mushroom soup (when they have it), scallop salad/dishes, the pastas. Hard to find but 100% worth it if you're in Sudbury. (To find it look for the Shopper's Drug Mart on the plaza, park your car in front, and then facing the store, walk to the right of the store towards the smaller building across the driveway. My favorite in Sudbury. A wee bit hard to find, tucked away in the corner of a shopping mall car park. Very good food and consistent. Nice wine list. Would only rate 4 stars in Toronto. My one complaint is that their "specials" always seem to be the same. Get some variety guys or stop calling them specials. Mushrooms feature prominently in many of their dishes. read more

Fantastic. Service was great, food was perfect. A nice variety of food to choose from. Ambience was nice, while the tables were full it didn't feel busy. Would absolutely eat here again. We had 3 appetizers, 2 mains, 2 desserts, wine and beer and with 17% tip it came to a very reasonable price ($150). The sauces on our mains were a particular highlight. read more

Had diner there this evening. We were served by Jovette and she was delightful. Service was awesome, food was delicious, we had the beef carpaccio then we ordered the penne Gorgonzola with pancetta and mushrooms and also ravioli with ricotta cheese and asparagus, both meals were delicious. Best restaurant I've been to in Sudbury. Like most good restaurant in Sudbury, it's Italian food (I would kill for some good Thai/authentic Chinese/Vietnamese/Mexican places!). This is the second time we've been here. Almost one to-date. Of course, we only get through Sudbury once a year otherwise we would be here at least once a month. The food is terrific.
