Lovely way to end the day! Carpaccio and baked Brie with music and good conversation. Fantastic meal. I had two appetizers. The baked Brie came with a rosemary and honey reduction, and I also had carpaccio which was exceptionally good and came with a ground pepper edge. Both dishes had exquisite baby arugula in olive oil. The waitress, Jasmine, gave us hot pepper jelly and rosemary honey to bring home. I also had the mixed olive appetizer, which was really good as well. The restaurant is unfortunately situated in a generic shopping mall, though it's spiritual home is in a forest glen with a brook running through it and nymphs plucking strings on a harp. read more

Drove up from Toronto...tried to get patio seats but way too long of a line up. Ordered the Tuscan pizza, shrimp linguine and calamari as an appetizer. Heard so much about this place, considered one of the best in Sudbury. Service was great and attentive they were going out of their way to accommodate waiters with drinks. Too bad COVID didn't allow us to see inside, it looked great. Food: linguine 9/10 rich enough but just the right portion Calamari 8/10 spicy with the right sauce but a bit soggy, can't fault them due to pick up Pizza 7/10 nothing wrong just the hype is a lot to live up to read more

Fantastic place. Discovered it by accident. Great tasting food and service. Definitely will go back next time I'm in town and will have the steak. Had the Chicken Diavilo and the Buffalo Caprese. If you are in town, check it out. You won't be disappointed. read more

I've been a fan of this restaurant from the first time I went here (as Pat & Marios) when I was 12 years old. I always make sure to come in for a bite each time I'm back in Sudbury, because I know I'll always leave happy and this time was no exception. The Roasted Beet Salad was wonderful and the Calamari delicious. I will always recommend this spot to eat as I know the food is great and the service top quality. read more

I head up to see family a few times a year and when I lived in Sudbury back in the day we went to Pat & Mario's all the time. Decided to give the Kouzzina a try on my mother's 75th birthday. We had reserved their "library" room, but at the last minute were bumped...by a charity. Normally I would be pissed as there were 14 in my party and making plans for that many people last minute could have been a nightmare. They made up for it by giving us another secluded section of the restaurant that (after seeing) was better suited for our large group. They gave us a special huge tray of meats and cheeses for our troubles. The service was top and the food came out fast, at the right times so everyone could eat together and drinks were never empty. Our group came in waves even making things more difficult, but our server was definitely up to the task. The food was great and they even were able to serve up some dishes from their olden days that were no longer on the menu. I had two types of calamari, both were great, but the deep fried stuff is something you can get most anywhere - i recommend the grilled. It comes on a cast iron grill still sizzling and it is drenched with amazing olive flavor. I also had the Caesar salad with a blackened salmon on top. This is one of my go to combinations and they are rated way up there. I love a Caesar salad that almost burns your mouth with garlic (not so popular to people around me). I actually went back just a few weeks ago (twice) to have it again. All other meals had no complaints and as always, I begged for a few sample tastes off the other plates. They served the entire range of pasta, fish, chicken, salads and of course the other kind of Caesar that you drink. The place is also modern and beautiful inside and the bar is quite lively. Definitely no shortage on parking either. I can see this becoming my regular place to be whenever I get back to Sudbury. read more

We came in on a Friday night expecting a long wait since we were too late to book a reservation by the time we made our plans. We were happily greeted and seated quickly in a cute booth for two. Our server was so kind. We enjoyed delicious appetizers before our meal (a fantastic brie dish and the bruschetta since we couldn't decide on just one - no regrets ordering both and would happily take each again). We each ordered a pasta dish. Noodles perfectly cooked and the sauces absolutely delicious and packed with flavour. Chicken was cooked just right. After the meal we were pretty full but she offered up desserts menus so we took a look and couldn't help ourselves from ordering one of the creme brulee cheesecake. P&M's Kouzzina is an oasis of delicousness amongst several chain box stores. There is a beautiful covered patio that you'll most likely need to wait to get a seat on. Hunger prevailed this and we decided to settle for comfy window booth. Our server was attentive without being annoying and had some great suggestions. We started out meal with some mezze of grilled lamb skewers and stuffed grape leaves. Both came out super quickly (which is a plus when you are hungry) and were super yummy too! A garlicky tzatziki came with both appetizers and we would have happily just ate that for our meal. But there was more wonders coming in the form of risotto. I ordered the veal marsala that comes with creamy tomato risotto. It was decadent and cheesy with the right amount of saltiness. My friends ordered the pasta of the day (artichokes, spinach, onions and chicken with parpadelle [3/5] and chicken diavolo [4/5]). I've been away from Sudbury for about 7 years now, but whenever I go back for a visit, I'm sure to hit up Pat and Mario's. I've been going here since I was a kid - some fond memories are Sunday brunches with the whole fam. I've actually realized that Pat and Mario's is the prototype for my favourite kind of restaurant - cozy, consistent, non-chain. My husband and I were on a mini vacation last summer, in Sudbury to visit some friends. We wanted a nice dinner out - since he knows nothing about the city, I took him to Pat and Mario's. It was so nice! It was a little late so there were not many people there; it was just dark enough and cozy. The decor seems to be better than I remember it; I guess there have been some updates? The bar area is really nice especially. To start, we had baked brie - yum yum. For my main dish, I had pasta with scallops - it was delicious! He was equally impressed with his meal. We took our time, drinking wine and chatting with our friendly waitress who was efficient and did not try to push us out the door even though it was late. The Mister and I both agreed that P&M would make a fine addition to Calgary even though it's a local Sudbury business. One can dream right?! read more

The Good: Pat and Mario's is one of the best restaurants in Sudbury. The food is excellent. My numerous positive dining experiences include: the spaghettini and meatballs, caesar salad, numerous sandwiches, numerous pizzas, and most recently the homemade hamburger. If your food isn't good, chances are the kitchen is having a rare off-night. The decor is very chic and contemporary with comfortable seating. The recent renovation was a great step in the right direction. The service is generally excellent, with prompt service and attentive waiters. The menu is also changed seasonally and offers new and exciting selections. The Bad: This is more of a nitpick, but some of the 'cozy' two person bench style seating that survived the renovation are simply not comfortable. Also, many of the excellent lunch menu sandwiches, including the turkey, brie, and bacon should be available on the dinner menu, but I understand why they are excluded in favour of a streamlined menu. The Ugly: There is nothing exceptionally wrong with this establishment. If you live in Sudbury, or just visiting, I highly recommend you try P&M's Kouzzina. read more

All the food is amazing and the portions are well worth the price. It is a little on the expensive side, but it is well worth it. They have a great selection of food that covers every person's taste and craving. The roasted red pepper soup is to die for! The Caesar salad is a little on the garlic- side but that just makes it better than ever. Great atmosphere and very clean. Went for dinner tonight with my wife. I have been coming here off and on for years. It is the essential New Sudbury Landmark. My wife ordered the chicken parmesan. The portion size is good, but I find the visual appeal for this dish as bland. She described it as ok. I ordered the steak sandwich. It would have been better if the steak had been trimmed and the gristle wasn't included. The service was good and the place is always very clean. read more

This is an excellent restaurant. Not just excellent for Sudbury but drop this place in the middle of Toronto and it would do excellent there too. Nice big restaurant with lots of room and good atmosphere. The greek salad was really good. The Rib eye melted in your mouth and was cooked to perfection. Amazing place to eat, and the service phenomenal. Ate here on Oct 25th and had Barbara as a server. Honestly, there was nothing we could complain about, even if we wanted to. Started with the bruschetta and Cesar salad as appetizers. Could have gone with one or the other, but, just had to try both. Both were perfect, and, the ability to ask for special things, like bacon bits on the side, was not an issue. Main meal was the Jail Island Salmon and spaghetti and meatballs. We had: Chicken Parmigiana on spaghetti noodles & a side of vegetables. Plus Salmon on a bed of sweet potatoes topped with spinach. Great birthday dinner. All staff on board being extremely friendly. Absolutely hated it. Ordered a Montreal smoked meat sandwich on rye bread with a Cesar salads. There was something wrong with the bread. I've never tasted a rye like this. And the cases salads whoa ! Enough garlic to last a life time. Like, do the food prep people not try their fish ? It was horrible. I took the food and tossed it in the garbage. Not to mention the price was excessive. $62 for 2 of the same order. I think my boyfriend felt bad cause he chocked down his meal and brought me to a different restaurant so I didn't starve. Wow! I did not expect an excellent meal as we approached....thought it was going to be a Canadian Olive Garden. The restaurant was busy but we were seated promptly. The waitress was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The Caesar salad is so delicious, entrees outstanding....wine! So many choices including yummy ones from Greece. I had the chicken asiago and my husband had the chicken special that began with Caesar salad, tarragon shrimp and ended with cheesecake topped with whipped pumpkin. Pat & Mario's is full of amazingly well done little touches that make it feel like a very expensive upper class place. The menus are engraved leather, they have wine pairings selected for each dish, there is a service guarantee for how fast they will greet you, and they even end the meal with Pat & Mario branded mints or candies. We have been here several times, and brought each of our parents out as well, and nobody has ever been disappointed. Their pizzas come with two oils (oregano, and hot chili) for dipping your crusts in. The steak comes with a starter garden salad, bread with chili oil, garlic sauteed mushrooms, and a side of your choice. Every steak I've ordered has been cooked perfectly, and has had a wonderful flavour. Better than The Keg, and most dishes are at a lower price point. The prices here aren't cheap ($30/person for starters, mains and drink), but are more than appropriate for the quality of food and service that you receive. My girlfriend usually starts with the roasted red pepper and tomato soup, which Pat & Mario's is known for. She always enjoys this starter. They often have interesting specials, such as "arts & crafts nights" (artisan pizzas and craft beers), or stuffed chicken (the stuffing of which changes nightly). This is easily my favourite place in Sudbury, and we would recommend it to anyone. read more

This is our go to restaurant. The food is delicious and the ambiance is great. The prices, however, have gone up expedentially. I understand the price hikes are due to the staff's wages being increased but patrons are still expected to tip 15% to 20%. Some people may need to stay at home because of the increases, which is unfortunate because it's a great place to eat!! read more
