He pulled her two front teeth so aggressively to one side to try to get her cuspid (canine tooth) to erupt. After over THREE years, we finally said ENOUGH! My daughter now goes to UCLA ortho. She had to get the braces removed and completely start from scratch again. Previous to being accepted as a patient at UCLA, she was turned away by some of the most prestigious orthos in the Bay Area and Los Angeles area. All saying that it was too much of a liability to try to "fix" what Gallagher had done. Due to Gallagher using my daughter's two front teeth to try to pull the cuspid down, they are now almost completely pulled from their roots and will need to be replaced with fake teeth. Guess who is footing the bill for all of this? Yup, yours truly! In addition to ruining her two front teeth, he also misaligned her jaw. Repairing her teeth and face is going to be a VERY long road. While Gallagher might be a nice guy (and he really is! I could chat with him for days & days) - Please go elsewhere for ortho.

The assistant who took me in asked about a variety of things and even checked in about older conditions which I hadn't mentioned right away. That showed they had really looked at my history. The doctor came in shortly after and sat down to talk through the concerns. They asked some questions I hadn't thought of and made sure to clarify what I had said earlier. The way they explained things was measured and didn't include a bunch of medical talk I wouldn't understand. They mentioned a few ways I could make small changes and encouraged me to keep track of how things progress. I appreciated that they weren't trying to sell me anything or push too hard in one direction. The approach was balanced, and they seemed more focused on long term improvement than quick fixes. I had procrastinated far too long knowing my delay was only contributing to my dental issues. One day I happened to receive an oversized postcard advertising this dental practice located in Hollister Ca. The emphasis was on the office philosophy which stated clearly that no judgment was ever made on the patients current condition . Acknowledgment of how many of us feel having delayed treatment ( embarrassment & shame ) and emphasized they were only concerned with identifying the solution and assisting the patient with obtaining the best possible treatment to address all ongoing dental needs. Intrigued I called and was immediately impressed with the prompt response to my inquiry and I obtained an appointment which was a no charge assessment and a detailed treatment plan with the recommended course of action. The staff was positive and reassuring and Dr. Rauch was simply wonderful. Having introduced himself he quickly realized that I was pretty vulnerable and apologetic for having let my dental needs becoming so desperate. He was quick to reassure me and state that what mattered most at this moment was to move forward and focus on the solution. He was encouraging, supportive and obviously sincere. This experience was the worst. My daughter had all her Wisdom Teeth extracted. We believed the…read moreinformation we received for her care was adequate: the sutures would dissolve in 7-10 days, and she would need to keep the sockets clean for the next several weeks until the healing was complete. First, there was no follow-up phone call once we left the office. Second, my daughter's recovery was complicated due to the fact that the sutures were still intact after four weeks. This resulted in an infection and visit to the emergency room. A second visit to mcmurray's office was necessary to have these sutures removed. Once this was completed, she was escorted to the waiting room and dismissed. The receptionist was the only one available to answer any of my questions, and she was not able to respond to any of my concerns. Once we got to our vehicle my daughter broke down and started crying. She said they gave her something to numb her gums, but began removing the sutures before the numbing was complete. They didn't ask her how she felt, they just started the procedure. Third, a follow-up appointment was scheduled. When we arrived, we were greeted by the surgical assistant; mcmurray chose to wait in his office. He only appeared after I requested to speak with him and the office manager. I detailed our frustration with the care we received (the lack of follow-up, the emergency room outcome, and how they hastily removed the sutures before the numbing was complete). Both the office manager and surgical assistant were sympathetic. They showed empathy and compassion towards my daughter, and were apologetic for what she experienced. mcmurray was the complete opposite. He refused to accept any responsibility, arrogantly stating 'sometimes these things happen', and 'we can't predict every outcome'. He was dismissive, smug, and made continuous efforts to speak over me. No apology to our daughter, and absolutely no accountability for this debacle. Will definitely state to everyone to stay away from mcmurray. His lack of professionalism and disdain for his patients is pathetic. He is a disgrace to the profession.
