Since this pandemic, my shopping habits have changed. Now that most major department stores have…read morereopened, I don't have a huge desire to step into one. However, when I haven't seen two friends in over a year and we see a Winners across the street, we must go! This store is in a plaza with plenty of parking. We all parked and walked in. There is hand sanitizer available when you first walk in. A staff member is there to answer any questions that you may have. This Winners has an excellent selection of Kipling purses. It had both the original gorilla and the new metal gorilla purse styles. I found a small lilac one that's great for running quick errands. I already have it in black. It's lilac. I love it. By default, I must have it. One of my friends didn't buy anything. I probably distracted her when we were constantly chatting and browsing. Our other friend did a lot of damage at this store, which were mainly items for her cat. She got a scratching post for her cat, for instance. The post had a little ball in various colours. She asked us which colour we should go for. I said pink. The pop of colour was cheerful. She took my suggestion. Yay! See, I can be influential! I ended up also getting a bag of candy. That's how I roll. It's either candy, snacks, or tea. I'm consistent. The lineup to pay was rather long on a Saturday afternoon. It did move nicely by the time I was done browsing all the mugs, potato chips, and travel accessories. The only thing that I didn't see were cell phone accessories. They weren't where I thought they would be. Perhaps I missed them. It just means that I need to return and hopefully not get another Kipling bag! There's lot of Plexiglass in the cashier area. I had a nice older woman helping me cash out. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I liked shopping at this store. We all went in wondering whether it would be a good store, as each one is different. Thankfully, this one had a decent selection of goods! (338)

The stores seem a bit on the trendy side. Some of stores look like they have the inventory for a small store but the location for a larger store. The interior looks pretty dated. The exterior looks a bit better with having some new paint to it a few years back. The parking lot is pretty big compared to the mall itself. I guess it gets pretty filled (both cars and public event space) every once in a while based on the event ads in the mall.

This GAP store is really huge and found in the newer section of Square One. Though it has a space…read moreof a big box store, it doesn't use it's space to be filled with clothes. Rather, there's lot of walking and aisle space. This is great for those insane weekends before Christmas. Otherwise, it looks like an unpopular store. The service here is one of the worst. I never had an associate greet me or help me in anything. If I do try to talk to someone, they often have zero knowledge. I once asked someone about the online coupon I had and if it applied to sale items as well. The associate had no clue and just said "I don't know." and proceeded to stare at me for the next awkward 10 seconds. I asked them if someone in the store would know the answer. Off he went and I swear to you, he did not appear till I was purchasing my items 25 minutes later with still no answer. The inventory here is not as great as Sherway or Yorkdale. They tend to stock the plainer items and more casual ones. I wouldn't call their stock outright ugly but it looks closer to the Old Navy items just down the hallway instead of the ones in the better malls. If I have to shop at the Gap, I would prefer to shop online or any other mall before coming here. It's rare for me to walk out of this store with something in my hand.

Have you ever tried to buy a Guess shirt for under $80? At a regular Guess store that can be quite a challenge. On good days, he leaves this Guess outlet store with 3! We stopped by again this morning and today's shirt cost us $19,99 plus tax. A bargain. Unfortunately I don't have the same luck with this store. I have never bought anything here. A lot of the female styles are just too ridiculous to wear and if I actually do find something I like, they never have my size. (I guess S or M is just to uncommon... *eyeroll* Today I saw a shirt I liked and the only size they had it in XS - but that 15 times. Really?) Therefore I can only give the store 3 stars although the staff here is really friendly & helpful too.

As I walked up the steps at 8pm (store closes at 9) the store manager was beginning to pull the iron gate close, I wasn't sure if they were closed so I looked at the hours to make sure but she didn't open the other door to invite me in or anything, she just turned around. Once inside she just starred at me blankly not offering any help, her eyes followed me through every row of the store as I shopped. It was such an uncomfortable experience especially since the store was pretty much empty. It's certainly not the case of searching for a diamond in the rough. I imagine woman will like the place even more since about 80% of the floor space is for them. There were several shoppers there and they seemed to have no issue picking out great stuff too. Also, prices are GREAT! Anyone who's 'vintage' shopped in places like Kensington Market will know that things can still have relatively higher prices. My items were incredibly inexpensive, including a Banana Republic shirt which showed virtually no signs of wear for $10. I found out at the counter that this is actually a franchise as part of a fairly large chain (which I hadn't previously heard of). Regardless, they're a very unique and welcome edition to the city.
