I was told the bus we originally booked (Pink party bus) was having AC issues and that we were going to be given a white bus with better AC. Given it is July in Texas we knew working AC was a must. Upon getting on the bus the AC was on and turned fully down however the bus was miserably hot. Our drive to the wineries was 1.5 hours and we were sweating the entire time. We visited multiple wineries and It was disappointing to get back on the bus and feel like we were going to pass out from heat especially when the drive was long. It made it hard to have any fun on the bus as we all just sat there trying not to overheat more than we already were. For this price point we should have been on a bus with working AC, especially after we had to change buses to accommodate our original bus not working. This made a positive impression, especially considering that there was a reaction and a desire to correct the situation. The drivers were professional, the organization on the routes - without significant failures. As the Father of the Bride I was shocked when the bus that showed up to bring our guests to the church was a school bus. After the ceremony I called Abdul to address my concern. After speaking to him it became clear that in reality the mistake was ours, not his. We had chartered a "transit" bus, which when you look on the website is a school bus. I wish the contract was more specific; as "school bus" certainly would have jumped out. But live and learn. Now to the good part. With my frustration high, Abdul was calm, cool and reasonable. He immediately realized I was not happy and kicked into high gear to see what he could do. While we had to take the school bus back to the hotel, by the time we left for the reception...less than one hour later...a gleaming full scale motor coach was sitting in front of the hotel instead of a school bus. Wow! I can't thank Abdul enough for stepping up. I was thoroughly impressed. When it comes to satisfying customers in a crisis, Austin Charter Services proves that it can still be done the old fashion way...do whatever you can to make your customer happy. In anticipation of the recent Rockin' Ride Yelp Elite goofiness, I emailed the Rockin' Ride to set things up. I don't know if there's a candle in there or what, but clearly they don't check it. So if you want to book the Rockin' Ride, do yourself a favor and call. It's night and day more reliable. I feel like this may have had a little to do with the time mixup that had the bus late to pick up our group. That said, once they showed our experience was utterly and completely ridiculous / festive / fun. Our driver, JJ, set the tone by being more than accomodating, and the bus itself was great: in addition to the giant stash of tunes (disco and otherwise), the Rockin' Ride bus we were on featured hundreds of videos (apparently at one point the entire bus was doing the 'Michael Jackson' --I'm hoping from the Thriller video-- and things were kept fun, casual, and so safe that all we had to do was pile off and on at the right time and we were in business. It's a terrific business idea, and from the velvet curtains to the giant side tubs for your cold ones to the fog machines, disco balls and well, your friends, you could do loads worse than a night out on the town on the Rockin' Ride. And while I'm sure they're all pretty great if you can get the booking settled, ask for JJ. In February, we signed a formal contract & paid a deposit booking R&R's shuttle service to drive our guests from the hotel to venue and from the venue back to the hotel, at the end of our wedding. 3 Months away from our wedding, we receive a call from R&R cancelling their service because Formula 1 was happening the same weekend of our wedding. They would most likely generate more money from servicing other clients to Formula 1 than our wedding. Fortunately, we will get our deposit back however there was no penalty for R&R Canceling our contract. We're now scrambling to book a transportation service 3 months away from our wedding. Do not book R&R as they're unreliable and their service depends on how financially beneficial your needs are to them. Our planner also made efforts to reach out to R&R and they told them the same reason for the cancellation. Needless to say, or planner was just as shocked as we were, as they've worked with them multiple times in the past.
