He did arrive late, but he did call to let us know there was an unexpected traffic jam and that he would be late on the pickup. This was not a problem for us and would not have impacted my final review. My main issue was that we had no clue how to use any of the features on the bus (lights, music, television, etc.). The driver explained to me that he was new and never drove this bus before, so he was unaware how it all worked. I definitely don't blame him because I know what it is like to be new to a job. But I feel like the company should provide some better explanations for the driver (or the passengers) on how to use the equipment. Maybe an instruction manual in the back on how to connect to the music or adjust lights etc. After about 2 hours we finally figured out how to connect to the radio, but we couldn't get the audio quality to sound right. It was really fuzzy and if we turned it up it would get extremely distorted like the signal was clipping. The top lights were blinding and we had no idea how to turn them off. The laser lights didn't turn on from the interface in the back. Assuming the controls were in the front? So we finally just gave up on that one. The tv in the back was blank. I was told during booking that they normally put up a fish tank screen which would have been much more aesthetically pleasing than a dead tv. Thankfully we had a good night overall with the activities we did. But was kinda bummed on the overall quality of this service considering the price paid. Again, I don't blame the driver as he did try to make an effort for us. But I do have to admit the whole thing just seemed very unorganized for a luxury limousine service. It seems we may have just gotten unlucky this time based on some other reviews which is very unfortunate. But based off our experience I don't know if I could recommend this service. :( Update: Changing review from 2 to 4 stars. The owners reached out to me and rectified the situation. They were extremely courteous and explained that this was a new driver error and they would make sure this would not happen again.

As the Father of the Bride I was shocked when the bus that showed up to bring our guests to the church was a school bus. After the ceremony I called Abdul to address my concern. After speaking to him it became clear that in reality the mistake was ours, not his. We had chartered a "transit" bus, which when you look on the website is a school bus. I wish the contract was more specific; as "school bus" certainly would have jumped out. But live and learn. Now to the good part. With my frustration high, Abdul was calm, cool and reasonable. He immediately realized I was not happy and kicked into high gear to see what he could do. While we had to take the school bus back to the hotel, by the time we left for the reception...less than one hour later...a gleaming full scale motor coach was sitting in front of the hotel instead of a school bus. Wow! I can't thank Abdul enough for stepping up. I was thoroughly impressed. When it comes to satisfying customers in a crisis, Austin Charter Services proves that it can still be done the old fashion way...do whatever you can to make your customer happy. Not exactly what I wanted to see at such a moment. As it turned out later, technically, the error was in our order, but it would be nice if this detail was spelled out more clearly. After the appeal, the situation was quickly corrected, and by the next stage of the incident we were waiting for a much more comfortable transport solution. This made a positive impression, especially considering that there was a reaction and a desire to correct the situation. The drivers were professional, the organization on the routes - without significant failures. There are things that can be improved in terms of communication and transparency in the choice of transport, but in general the experience remains rather positive.

Our driver, JJ, set the tone by being more than accomodating, and the bus itself was great: in addition to the giant stash of tunes (disco and otherwise), the Rockin' Ride bus we were on featured hundreds of videos (apparently at one point the entire bus was doing the 'Michael Jackson' --I'm hoping from the Thriller video-- and things were kept fun, casual, and so safe that all we had to do was pile off and on at the right time and we were in business. It's a terrific business idea, and from the velvet curtains to the giant side tubs for your cold ones to the fog machines, disco balls and well, your friends, you could do loads worse than a night out on the town on the Rockin' Ride. And while I'm sure they're all pretty great if you can get the booking settled, ask for JJ. I have it on good authority that this guy will get you to your detination(s) in style, like the rock star you've become.

Suggest a route, have microphones for each person, have more built in ice chests, have a red light that comes on inside whenever the brakes are pushed so people know to sit down. In the future I'd probably prefer to rent a limo or similar but if you're trying to get down to Wurstfest or something, it's a safe fun bet that's cheaper than a DWI and has a better music selection.

Unfortunately, on the way back, one of the tires blew out. Thankfully, the driver kept the bus under control and was able to quickly and safely get us onto the breakdown lane. After realizing that the blown tire was one of the inside tires (of a set of two) she explained that she was going to continue down the highway less than a half a mile to the next exit so that we could get off the highway completely. Fortunately, there were a couple of restaurants where we could relax and get dinner while waiting for someone to come and change the tire. Meanwhile, R&R was sending another bus up towards us just in case the repair was going to take too long. The tire was replaced, we were back on the road, but still we switched buses (to a bigger, much nicer one than we had contracted for) and that one brought us back to Austin. Although we arrived back in Austin much later than we had intended, our driver Melissa needs to be commended for her driving skills, keeping us all safe, and keeping us all informed of the progress while we were waiting. R&R went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of - certainly no one can anticipate a flat tire but R&R did everything that they could to handle it as quickly as possible. In February, we signed a formal contract & paid a deposit booking R&R's shuttle service to drive our guests from the hotel to venue and from the venue back to the hotel, at the end of our wedding. 3 Months away from our wedding, we receive a call from R&R cancelling their service because Formula 1 was happening the same weekend of our wedding. They would most likely generate more money from servicing other clients to Formula 1 than our wedding. Fortunately, we will get our deposit back however there was no penalty for R&R Canceling our contract. We're now scrambling to book a transportation service 3 months away from our wedding. Do not book R&R as they're unreliable and their service depends on how financially beneficial your needs are to them. Our planner also made efforts to reach out to R&R and they told them the same reason for the cancellation. Needless to say, or planner was just as shocked as we were, as they've worked with them multiple times in the past.
