We definitely understand the appeal, as the food was good, the drinks were good, and the staff were great. We likely ordered too much fried food while there (and it all tasted great), but next time I might substitute some of the fried fare with a salad. But our eyes were drawn to the other tables around us where patrons were chomping on fried pickles (yum), French fries (tasty enough), and onion rings (outstanding). My only recommendations to the owners would be to stick a few more healthy items. Before I close out, I must send another shout out to the owners (a husband and wife team who were staffing the place the day we visited). They are awesome!! I loved the conversations with them and would return to Horseshoe just for drinks and a chuckle... and the onion rings! Final thoughts = check this place out if nearby, but be sure to balance the fried food with a salad.
