I even had to ask her when I was leaving how the blood test turned out, she quickly said "it was okay" without going over anything. A couple days later I found that my medicine was too strong and I called multiple times trying to get a lower dose called in but you only get a recording that says you must come in for another appointment for refills. I was just in and only wanted a lower dose and didn't want to pay another $50.00 copay just to reduce the dose but nobody returned my many calls so I gave up and quit taking my medication! I got the bill, called the number to pay and all you get is a recording at an overseas company. Tried many times finally got them and struggled through the language barrier/heavy accent etc but they showed a different billing amount. They gave me the office number but no one ever answers it. I left a messsge at least 1/2 dozen times trying to pay the amount my insurance company says I owe but still no return call from them. I got yet another bill in the mail today and called the offshore billing company again to go ahead and pay the higher amount but just got a message again. Such a frustrating office to deal with for the very, very little care that I received. Glad that I switched doctors, I can't imagine how I'd contact them in an emergency if I can't even get my medication dose lowered or pay my bill!

THEN this 20 something barely out of diapers much less any kind of medical training has to step in with some nonsense of "well it is within 15 min of your appt - you just must have arrived early!" I tuned out the rest of her diatribe...no lady my time keeper says it's now 25 min past my appt... Get into the room and get asked about my meds 3 of the 5 should already be on file and I get chastised like a child for not knowing precisely what milligrams of each of five medications I am on I am ingesting. And that next time I should cart them with me so they'll know. Uhm call me later when I'm at home {so my meds aren't exposed to wild temperature changes in the car} and I'll tell you and it will be in my file so we never have to discuss it again. I sit in the room basically ignored for almost half an hour when there are 3 physicians and 2 nurse practitioners in this office. I'm being assaulted by cheesmo 50's music in the exam room. I actually had enough time to almost fall asleep 3 times on the exam table. Finally when I get back from using the toilet the NP is in there she looks me over decides on drugs and vanishes. I sit for another 10 min waiting for the paperwork for the 'scripts and check out to arrive. 8:30 am appt and I didn't leave until nearly 10 am If I didn't think it would be no different at any other GP's office I'd switch but why bother to get more of the same old same old

Texas Family Med has been great for me, overall…read more Appointments: TFM has been flexible and relatively efficient, typically my total visit (wait+exam) lasts 1-2 hours. I disagree with two prior reviews on appointments. Typically doctor offices have a wait, with appointments. I arrive 15 min early, get into exam area within15- 30 min; and spend another 30-60 in exam room... depending patient load. Dr. Jason: Has been progressive with establishing initial care; in contrast to my prior doctor who was reluctant to use newer treatment. Staff: Very attentive and professional. Some appointments are quick few minutes, some longer. The staff gives necessary time to treat each patient as an individual. General Care: I typically the see younger associates, who are all very qualified. Some patients may have reservations transferring from more established practices or older doctors. However as a patient, consider doctors diagnose based on observations, tests, and the patients description of the symptom. Be specific and discuss what's wrong, and the staff will do their job treating you effectively. Prescriptions: staff is responsive to refills. Communication: Portal is easily accessed. That said, don't expect the staff to call with results. If the staff refers to diagnostic tests, it's the patients responsibility to see if lab results are abnormal and schedule follow up. And I am confident if I was tested for life or death problem, the staff would be more in tune with test results. Last note on appointments... it's the patients that drive the wait, not the staff. If the clients no-show, cancel, or are late... the office must book accordingly to preserve time. If all patients showed up as scheduled, pretty sure any office can treat a patient within an hour.

The 1 star rating is the result of the management, billing, and general business practices of the company and not a reflection of the doctors, nurses, PA, NP, or office staff. I encourage everyone to read the other reviews and take them to heart. This company's only goal is trying to figure out how they can charge patients more money. I have a very close personal friend that is employed by Village Medical. He is constantly telling me that all expectations are related to how many patients he can see and making sure he "codes" items correctly so the company can get paid. There is absolutely NO emphasis on the human interaction and quality of care. In addition, he has been told he will no longer receive the 401K matching that he was promised when he took the job. (I told him when they made that announcement last year that they were in financial trouble and he should start looking for another job.) Village Medical is a large company that is majority owned by Walgreens Boot Alliance (WBA) which is a publicly traded company. WBA stock has tanked and now they are scrambling to appease share holders. (Thankfully I don't own WBA. The last time their stock price was this low was 1998.) As a result of their poor performance, WBA has begun divesting some of their Village Medical offices in an effort to cut their losses. They are also applying pressure to Village Medical to increase revenue. As a result, patients and their issues are merely dollars to them. Fortunately I have found another provider where our relationship and my medical needs take priority over the amount of money they can get from me. Side note: When Village Medical responds to this review they will say the same thing they have said every other review. "Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback as it is our goal to serve our patients with excellence." Blah, Blah, Blah PS To the person (bot) that responds to this review, please reply with something different than what you put on every review.
