I haven't been to this winery in a long time but I had a good time as always. I was able to do a wine tasting and I purchased 4 bottles. The service was impeccable. The two ladies were very friendly and knowledgeable. I learned that just started a wine club so I may be purchasing that soon as well. As for the tastings, they gave great portions of wine. We were allowed to pick 6 wines we wanted to try. They have a great variety of sweet, dry and semi sweet. My favorite of all time is the apple cider. My new favorite is a mulled cinnamon brew. The serve the cinnamon brew warm which was great. I also enjoyed the Cabernet. They have great wines. The ambiance was very quaint and aesthetically pleasing. We LOVED our day drinking stop here on a Thursday in August! Kathleen (I'm pretty sure that's her) was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and fun! We chatted while we did our tasting and went home with several bottles of wine! The orange cream is SO fun (mixed it in a blender with vanilla ice cream). My friends and I visited Tomasello Winery, having made a reservation days prior. The storefront is a bit on the smaller side, so there is a limited amount of seating available. Everything was clean and tidy, including the bathroom. During our visit, there was only one person working, but everything moved efficiently. The visit was also reasonably priced at $16 pp for a tasting, and we ended up buying two bottles to go. This was a great activity for a cold winter day. read more

Nice little stop when visiting Lambertville... but be prepared to wait awkwardly for a table. It is a small shop... with not too much seating. Nice to stop in a purchase bottles to take with you. But if you are patient enough, and so want to enjoy a wine tasting and charcuterie board and truffles, their wines are really good! I loved trying all the different fruity wines and the seasonal wines like their mulled wine. It was served warm and it would be perfect on a chilly type day. With the wine tasting, you can also keep the wine glass as a souvenir. The people serving was very knowledgeable and service was great despite being super busy. But they were very accommodating to everyone coming in and transparent about the wait times. Definitely a great stop to sit, relax and to try some wines! read more

We went here for a tasting on a Friday afternoon. We were in the area celebrating our anniversary. It's a small but cute tasting room. The woman who worked there (I wish I got her name) was so sweet, personable, knowledgeable and made the experience more fun! We did the tasting and bought a few bottles to take home. The wine there is very cute, lots of different flavors, blueberry yum! We will definitely go back, it's in the downtown area of Lambertville, so much to do in the area. They took great precautions for covid, easy to reserve for the tasting (I believe a walk in came after us that were seated right away too). Definitely recommend! Small intimate setting, walls painted wine-red, delicious wines, amid display of local artist's paintings of the area. We reserved the Reidel glass version, and the Cheese tray. We got to pick from the list of available wines that day. The Reidel glasses were the large goblets :-) with samples served in small glass pourers on a wood, numbered tray, with a list made by the host of his recommended order by which to sample each. The cheese tray was a bit sparse though, I'd have liked more than a tablespoon of walnuts and more crackers, but all, including cheeses, were tasty and fresh. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and took our time having fun coming up with descriptions and scenarios that we felt suited each wine. There were only 2 other women there when we arrived and they left soon afterward, so we literally had the place to ourselves. The host never bothered nor pressured us. He was very nice. He even comped us a sample of a creamy dessert wine, as it was my B-day. **Recommend. :-D read more

I have been going Wine Tasting across in New Hope for years and didn't think it could get better than Bucks Wine Shop....and well it kind of can't...I give them 5 stars because they have awesome hand painted wine glasses and amazing customer service....... BUT........this place does wine tasting fo' FREE! Now seriously, given the fact that it's a bit of an unfair comparison due to the fact that Tomasello only stocks their own wine and Bucks has various, I will credit Tomasello for having very different and delicious variates (which have won multiple awards). We tasted 5 kinds and all were delicious. But ended up taking a bottle of the blueberry sparkling wine, because at $9 it was an incredible deal. Their shop is a little hidden, so it's easy to walk past it, but take a look for yourself. I can't wait to come back and have some more.....BEFORE going to New Hope. read more

My fiance and I had the groupon and decided to stop here on a beautiful fall Saturday. I will start by saying that Lambertville is such a cute little town and the tasting room location is right off the main road so it's easy to get to. The room is a little small but the employees there did such a great job of taking their time to talk to us about the wines and really make the tasting fun. Also as we learned from talking to them is that they are dog friendly so you can bring your pooch, although I would say be careful because there are some fragile things in that tasting room that our dog might accidentally knock over. Overall the wines were pretty good and with the groupon we got the tasting for free, a membership to their wine club and two free bottles. I would say stop in if you are in the area for some good wines and good company, I know we will be back again. read more

I bought a groupon to here for my moms christmas present. We of course had a great time because 1, we love wine, 2, we can make a good time out of anything. I was slightly disappointed to know this was just a strange little store that sold tomasello wine. It seemed like the wine tasting was going to be some extravagant thing. There were no seats at the bar thats also the register. So we had to awkwardly stand in the middle of the store and do our tasting with people walking around us. We also felt rushed. My wife and I went in on a Monday around noon and had the place to ourselves which was nice. The woman working was very knowledgeable and helpful. The best part of the tasting was that you could pick any 5 from a very wide selection, and my wife and I ended up tasting some of the same and some where we picked different items. We both enjoyed everything we tried, which is often not the case. I'd highly recommend trying their sparkling fruit wine (we tried blueberry) or one of their non-sparkling fruit wines (we tried blackberry) as they are definitely something that you can't find anywhere at that level of quality. They apparently do quite the worldwide business with these wines. Prices are extremely reasonable, we ended up buying a Chardonnay, a Chambourcin and the Blackberry fruit wine all for only around $40. read more

Definitely has something for everyone, from sweet fruit wines to sparkling to dry reds. I spotted this place randomly when wandering the streets of Lambertville and decided to stop in. It is a tasting room only, their main winery is in Hammonton. I've had some Tomasello offerings before and enjoyed them, so I wanted to try more of their wines. I'm not a wine connoisseur or expert by any means, so my opinion on the wines themselves shouldn't hold much clout. I prefer dry wines, while my girlfriend prefers more sweet wines and we both liked what we tried. Tastings here are not free - I believe they were $5 for five tastings, but you get to keep the nice Tomasello Winery wine glass as well. If you want to buy any bottles, we found that they are priced quite fairly. I'd say it's worth a quick stop if you're wandering Lambertville looking for something to do! read more

Stopped in on a Saturday, to try Tomasello's as they have just been awarded NJ Winery of the Year Award. The store is very nice, dog friendly, but the setup becomes very crowded with only a few people in the store. The two women were working at the time did NOT look like they were getting along. The women who served us was not informative, just poured the glasses and stood there. I get that sometimes you have a bad day, but get it together and at least try to hide it from the customers; have a glass of wine and chill. The wine was very good, and price was O.K. This was our third stop going around wine tasting over the weekend and we were all very impressed with their wine selection and overall taste. They have a great deal that if you purchase the glass for $5, you get the glass itself and 5 tastings that day. Whenever you bring the glass back you get unlimited tastings! The two people who helped us out were really informative and nice as well. The reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is because they are currently under construction (which isn't what bothered me), but what it actually looked like before these renovations. It was in serious need of updating because the space & wine itself is great. I'm excited to see what it looks like after all the additions are done! Dreadful was the first word that came to mind when I left the tasting room. The disappointment was due more to the service than the wine, though that was awful too. Despite being the only two people there the guy working at the time did not make my husband and I feel welcome in the least. No telling us about the different wines, the winery itself, production, etc. - just 'whaddaya want next?' and hostile silence while we gulped down their swill (I've never finished a tasting so quickly). I would have been much more open to enjoying their wine if their staff knew how to conduct a tasting (and treat their customers) properly. Ridiculous. read more

We stopped here after a lovely lunch at Lambertville Station. There were some ladies finishing up their orders when we stopped in, so we perused the offerings until we could have a tasting. The woman behind the counter first asked us what our normal wines were (Russian River Old Vine Zins), then started pouring things we might like. Shiraz: tasted like the precursor to a good port; raisin and prune, hazelnut; clean and dry finish Chambourcin: they were out of this, but gave us a taste; dried cherry; clean and dry finish Petit Verdot: my favourite, and the priciest of the bunch (we bought 3 of these $38-20%) This made my entire mouth happy and I started glowing. Literally. Chardonnay: it kind of curled on my tongue to the back of my mouth with that vitamin-A flavour. Light to the tongue, but rich. Not to my tastes Port: Rich and with more nut and fruit, but with that vitamin-A flavour which is not my friend ? Russian grape sparkling: sweet. Much like a fresh Romanian grape chilled in the freezer first. Almost an icy sugar-like taste. Sparkling Blush (we bought 6 bottles of this): Lovely and rich, would be wonderfully paired with salmon or shrimp, or sushi Sparkiling Blueberry: Jim's favourite. Drier than expected. Jim tasted cherry in this one. Bought 1 bottle Blueberry Wine: Smelled somewhere between concord grape jelly and fresh blueberry jam. Lovely. Bought 2 bottles. We were also made aware of a wine club which provided a 20% discount for $10, no purchase committment required. Needless to say, it paid for itself with the purchase of the bottles of the Petit Verdot. The attendant asked what we liked, and knew what she was doing. Totally off topic, but If my husband were not there, I would have asked her about her skincare regime, as she had gorgeous, glowing skin, something which is rare during winter in these parts. But I digress--she was a professional who understood our tastes and directed us to the offerings best suited to us. We left the store with a case (38lbs for wine, 50 for champagne as they informed us; we had something in between) because the wine was good and the service better than what could be expected at most wine shops. There's also an olive oil. Peppery and fruity. $11. It's imported from California, but if I were to go completely local (and didn't have a good stash of Greek kalamata olive oil), would use this instead. It's 25% more expensive than what I use for everything, as I don't believe in getting one oil for this and another for that, but it's an option. It's still supporting a local producer. read more

Today at 3pm was my first time in tomasello winery. I got a Groupon to have a tasting here in lambertville while my husband and I are taking our vacation. I originally wanted to go to the winery in Hammonton, unfortunately it was too far. Regardless, we walked in to have a great start of our day. We have yet to be disappointed while on our trip till we arrived. When we walked in, the woman was not very friendly. I mentioned to the woman that we had a tasting for 2, and that I called and made an appt the day before. She seemed hesitant to talk then asks if I had a groupon. When I said yes, she told me I should of told her and next time should say that I had one *In my head, I'm not from around here and most likely won't have another groupon to have a tasting*. She gave us a wine list to choose from although did not explain what was going on and was just pouring wines without any real detail. I informed her that we enjoyed sweet and preferably red yet gave us white and dry. She did not offer any suggestions after knowing we liked the blueberry moscato. I thought I would converse with her to see if she would lighten up. She was fine talking to me. Yet, when my husband informed her that he enjoyed a particular wine. Or mentioned how he liked something. She ignored him and showed no acknowledgement. This occurred more than once. I would never want to assume that someone would be disrespectful in accordance to race but it definitely seem like it. When she did, I looked at my husband and made a face. My husband is half black and asian and of course looks more black. I had a short conversation with my husband letting him choose the wines that we got to take home. She did not give him any eye contact, was short, and unfriendly. It was not what I expected especially since every where else we have gone has been wonderful to us. I just don't think this was a great first impression and won't be back to the lambertville location. It did not ruin our day, we got to take home 2 blueberry Moscato wines. When I had spoke to a woman on the phone, she even mentioned that we could wine taste any other bottle that was open. I didn't even bother, I didn't want my husband to be in that kind of environment although I wouldn't mind making her uncomfortable! ***Edit. I just opened my bag for the glasses to check them out and thought it was awesome to get 2 glasses with the groupon. Yet, it was the glasses that we drank out of which was fine but she did not rinse them out or wipe them down at all. They were dripping and it was just not pleasant to open the bags to find dirty glasses. read more
