I paid 3.89 for 87 Octane, which used to buy me a much better grade, but octane level is one of the areas I am cutting back.

Also lettuce & tomatoes. My burger was about $6.59 (not including tax) and the fries were $2.99 (not including tax) so my total came out to be around $10.50. The burger was made fast but still good & cooked through. The fries had a good seasoning on them (would recommend asking for more seasoning). The burger was juicy & had a good mild flavor. Would come back here to try other options!

The good: Open late, although after dark you have to use the warzone-style bank drawer system to interact. Hard to believe that live oak and Carroll is still that dangerous. Awesome for the staff, but it puts you out on foot with some of east Dallas' more sketchy inhabitants. Car wash usually works, although there's usually something broken too (vacuum, air for tires, etc). Tetco has stopped pushing it's loyalty program on you while you get gas. The bad: A crime seems to be right on the verge of occurring at all times. Parking lot is an accident factory. Employees do not warn you that Shaq soda is terrible.

I like to come here because what you can rely on is a well-lit station that has clean pump handles and a good selection in their convenience store. You can also rely on very good customer service. They also have a pretty good selection of beer if that is your thing. Their selection of line is somewhat Limited but I think that is to be expected for any convenience store gas station. My only complaint about this particular gas station is that it does not have a car wash.

You start looking around for alternatives. When looking around for the alternatives I found a Chevron station at the corner of Midway and LBJ. This by no means is a new Chevron it's been here for years I have just always tuned it out because I usually purchased my gas at Sam's. So I crossed the road to the southeast corner of the highway and Midway to get my gasoline. Throw this station is a little old it is really not that bad. It's pretty well maintained. I do wonder how they keep in business with their prices being so much higher then Sam's right across the street from them. I guess they are relying on the people that do not have memberships to Sam's.

I was leaving a nearby ice cream shop and noticed they had no wait, so I pulled in, impressed that I could get an oil change at 7:40 at night. There were a couple hurdles though, so I drove in to see if they could make the hurdles. The biggest hurdle is I have a warranty on my engine that requires me to use Mobil1 Oil, so I had to make sure they had it. Luckily they did! The second hurdle was could/would they take me that close to closing time. The staff here did not even act bothered by that, in fact the genuinely seems grateful I was there! They were so fast, I was blown away when they told me they were done, and had I not been sitting in my car watching them do it, I might have had a hard time believing they could do it that fast! I also learned during this visit they can help you with Windshield Wipers, Air Filters, and Coolant Exchanges, in addition to oil changes. This was my first time visiting a Take 5 Oil Change store, but after this experience I would not hesitate to come here again!

I was told by the technicians that this has happened before at this location, which was concerning to hear. Even more concerning, I was informed that they currently do not have a manager because the previous manager left for another location. When I asked what could be done about the broken dipstick, I was told to "maybe just super glue it back on." A broken dipstick is not a proper repair, and it leaves me unable to easily check my oil level without additional work and expense. While I understand that accidents happen, what matters is how a business handles them. In this case, there was no real solution offered, no accountability taken, and I was still charged full price for the service despite leaving with a damaged vehicle component. Since this happened, my truck is now in the shop and I am currently without a vehicle. I am having to spend upwards of $60 just to get to work, all out of my own pocket, while also trying to pay to fix damage that was caused during their service. The "manager" told me, "I'll put a claim in for you," but I still have not heard from anyone. The entire situation has been unprofessional and clearly careless. What is even more frustrating is that one of the technicians simply moved on to the next vehicle as if nothing had happened. Their slogan is "10-minute oil change," yet I was there for over an hour before they even started working on my truck. The lack of urgency, accountability, and customer service was unbelievable. I hope ownership or upper management addresses these issues, as customers should not have to pay for mistakes made during routine maintenance. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this location. I honestly would not trust them with my kids' toy truck if they were the only option left. Pathetic.
