Both Nick & Will treated us with the upmost respect and courtesy. While we figured out the course we wanted too take Nick & Will were totally supportive. In the end we ended up having Rich's Auto Center replace our transmission and do a few other repairs. Half a day after bringing it in to NWSC, I had a car that purred, made no noises, not a whiff of gasoline, and ran like new. After my first full tank of gas, I calculated I was getting 34.2 mpg (it was interstate driving) which was around 35 mpg when the car was brand new. I couldn't believe it--I will be getting over 50 miles more per tank of gas. The price was significantly lower than my previous place (I checked the itemized receipt against an older one where some of the items were the same such as oil change). Definitely bang for my buck.

In early October 2024 I needed to replace both the rear shocks on my vehicle. The mechanic who…read moreusually does the work for me gave me a quote of about $250 but couldn't get me in for over a week, so I called Tuffy on Jefferson and the clerk said the cost would be between $250 and $325, and I could bring the vehicle in the next day. That quote was comparable to what my mechanic gave me. However, when I arrived at Tuffy the next day the same clerk said it would be $1200. I said that wasn't what he quoted the previous day and he said "well the shocks are $250 each and then there's labor". I again reminded him of his original quote, he just shrugged and did not reply, probably assumed since I was already there I would go ahead with the job. I did not. My mechanic was able to do the job for $125 labor and I purchased the Monroe shocks with lifetime guarantee for $40 each from Ebay. The whole job was $205 plus tax. Obviously the Tuffy clerk was trying to run a scam. How many other customers have been ripped off by this Tuffy location? The owner should be aware of this problem and hire reputable people.

I noted that a fictitious scrape is not going to unscrew a bolt! Then he said I put the bolt in crooked, when I noted that it was probably damaged by his worker and that's why it fell out! If the bolt had not fallen out because of poor work, I would not have been putting a new one in! Now they say the oil pan is bent. Also suggested a fan belt, not realizing they just replaced it on this very service. THEY SIMPLY DID NOT TIGHTEN THE BOLT ENOUGH AND IT FELL OUT AND THEY WONT ADMIT IT AND WANT TO BLAME US! Poor service, and they will not take responsibility for their incompetent work. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND GOING SOMEPLACE ELSE AS WE WILL FROM NOW ON! The only thing that almost went right was the oil change, so I hope since my car is still reading an oil change is needed. I've never had an oil change without the system warning being rest and I'm beyond annoyed by it. I checked the dip stick and it looks okay though. When I got the call to pick the car up I was told the headlights are fine. I picked up my keys and I was told by Justin E. That he had to go ask the mechanic what exactly was done. He came back minutes later and said everything checked out and I "should be good." Here I am now at nightfall and I can barely see the beam at all on the passenger side. Also, I asked him if they found the leak in the back driver side tire, the second most important reason for bringing the car out. Once again, Justin went to ask his mechanic only to come back minutes later and I was told that he honestly doesn't remember if he checked, but he filled the tires. Justin then asked for my keys back so he could check and see if the low tire alert flashed in the car, keeping in mind they'd just filled them all, then looked at the wrong tire when he got out and told me, "it looks good but if it gets low next week to bring it back and he will take care of it." Take care of it how?! The worst part of this experience is when I responded that he looked at the wrong tire before giving my keys back and that I'd even asked about purchasing a tire since I'd sprayed all over to find a leak and was unsuccessful multiple times, I wasn't given the option. He rebutted that they were really busy and may have just forgotten in the process of the oil change. Being busy is never an excuse to not do your job when you're on the clock doing your job! It is an auto repair shop so of course, they weren't too busy at all to let me know that they found something else wrong with the car and found enough time to give me an estimate for those repairs. Ten minutes after getting back on the road the warning light is back on. Great - the car is completely full so changing the tire isn't really feasible. Nearby Volvo dealership doesn't have the tire in stock. Okay - let's call the closest DT. Caleb quickly searched the system and although they don't have the exact tire to match the other three we were offered several in-stock alternatives. Unlike Belle Tire, they have multiple people working on a vehicle and go bay to bay it seems which just gets cars out quicker. Only reason for the 1 star is the upselling of things I knew I didn't need. I get it comes from corporate to do those things, but it's annoying regardless. That being said they are not the only ones that upsell you on things and I would still go back.
