I would like to recognize Rich's Auto Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana On Friday my transmission failed on the way back to Canada. By sheer luck we ended up at Rich's Auto Center. Both Nick & Will treated us with the upmost respect and courtesy. While we figured out the course we wanted too take Nick & Will were totally supportive. In the end we ended up having Rich's Auto Center replace our transmission and do a few other repairs. Recently on a cross country road trip I broke down and needed a new alternator near Ft. Wayne, IN. Am not sure how I got so lucky, but was within 8 miles of Rich's Auto Center. They were unbelievably professional, understanding, helpful, kind, and generous. The shop is very clean and well equipped, and they helped me get back on the road faster than I could have hoped. I not only ended up with a new alternator, but in many ways was in better condition than when I arrived. I learned a lot and feel my time there gave me a view of one of the best sides of humanity. '97 Ford Ranger XLT, 97,000mi - a beat up pickup I like to call Bess Fast service. VERY CLEAN shop. They have windows straight out to the work bay so you can actually watch them work on your vehicle. The staff is highly professional, and more than that, they are extremely friendly. There is a woman there who works the front desk, she's so kind and warm and just amazing. Being a woman myself, I felt respected and the she took the time to explain what the damaged part did, a little about the repair, and was happy to answer all of my questions. Once they diagnosed the problem, the auto tech who actually worked with my vehicle called me to authorize the repair. He too was very friendly and took the time to help me explore my options as far as parts and other needed repairs. I wasn't able to pick up my vehicle at the allotted time, so they were willing to work out a key arrangement with me so i could pick up my vehicle at a time that best worked for me. Insider tip: Oil change under $40 includes a full inspection, and with that full inspection, there is NO PRESSURE sales. They tell you what's wrong, what could possibly go wrong, and the honest truth about whether or not it could actually wait a while before getting a repair.
