Then Covid happened and they were flooded with kids. Classes are too big. If you have a child with any kind of learning disability or anything this is not a good school at all. They barely make accommodations and don't have IEP and 504 programs to help. One year my child's teacher yelled at the class all the time. Kids with parents on campus get special treatment, and this school is very inconsistent with discipline. There are also drugs on campus.

We could not be happier with the environment, atmosphere, fellow classmates/parents, and especially Ms. Merrill and the other teachers in our daughter's classroom. The encouragement for the kids to be independent, while also feeling fully supported, is very apparent. The works and activities are diverse and stimulating, and ultimately foster a love of learning. Our daughter talks so much about school, her classmates and teachers. She enjoys going, which as parents, we love. We truly feel that BMS, and in particular Ms. Merrill's classroom, are the right fit for our daughter as she continues her early education journey. We are incredibly pleased that our daughter will be able to have Ms. Merrill as her teacher for the next 3 years. St Monica did an amazing job preparing them for high school spiritually, socially and academically. Both my daughter and step son tested so well on their high school admissions tests that they started out in honors and all advanced classes. Both kids also found their accelerated math class to be too easy and went on their own to self advocate and move up to Honors Trigonometry where they are both excelling in at both Odea and Holy Names. I have received notes from various teachers letting me know how impressed they are with my kids, as they know how to study, take notes and ask for help when needed. The work ethic that St Monica instilled in my kids has helped them tremendously as they transitioned to high school and will continue to serve them as they continue to college. The confidence, leadership and discipline they learned to at St Monica has truly empowered them to be the best they can be. My kids have a love for their country, community and themselves. The classical education that St Monica provided has taught my kids to be critical thinkers and to truly analyze and see things from different perspectives. They also have a solid foundation of love for God while also respecting others points of views and religions. I have juggled multiple jobs over the years to send my kids to Catholic School and it has been worth every penny. Both my son and daughter have gone here and we loved every minute of it. Well, my son didn't but they took such good care of him and made sure his transitions from class to lunch to extended care were as seamless as possible. There are precious few faith-based preschools available in our area that offer extended care by the hour with flexibility to pick up whenever I need to up until 5pm. It's a true God-send to have found Pilgrim and we will truly miss coming there after June camps.
