I competed at Monroe High School when I ran middle distance in track and field during my freshman year of high school (Spring 2007 season for Shorewood High School). The stadium had bleacher outdoor seating. During the meet we were allowed to sit in the bleachers, which was nice because they were high enough compared to the surrounding landscape to get a slight breeze. The track was well marked and in good condition. Returning to see what I could see today, Wednesday 19 July 2023, I found the stadium and track and field were open to the public when the gates were not locked. As the gates were open, I did some exploring and reminiscing about competing here. I appreciated being able to return and reflect on my experience(s) here. read more

Shame on Monroe high school for not having any working drinking fountains around the schools I'm at a track and field event, multiple sports are going on at the school and there's no working drinking fountains. The first entrance should also have signs saying no parking, or no driving, instead of leading people down a dead end. read more

monroe high school is supposed to teach students. instead of teaching them, the staff makes them hide in fear of getting punished. too many students have lied about their feelings in fear of the school punishing them. this goes for the whole school district. chain lake elementary, park place middle school, all the schools. there is a flaw in their system. i will start off with the school counselors. they are rude and unprofessional. i was a former student at this school, and i had my own experiences with them. sadly, they have all been useless and a waste of time. but what should you expect, for this school has shown their irresponsibility multiple times in the past. the educational system is a**! i know that i have had multiple teachers in the past which have taught me nothing. and when i say they taught me nothing, i mean n o t h i n g. they have insulted others, as well as me personally. i swear to god, how do these people have these jobs? it's been so miserable that i have even skipped days and days of school. the other stuff members are rude and don't take criticism. they just keep people who agree with them to make themselves feel better. from a personal experience, there was one specific staff member who did their job so irresponsibly that i had to hire a lawyer a l a w y e r! a student should not have to go through that, neither should a parent! not to mention how chaotic it is! there is no way to function in that school! the halls are crammed, classrooms overfilled, the assemblies are so filled with children that there aren't places to sit! it is unbearable and unbelievable. all in all, i believe that the school should read this review and change their system. read more

This place is honestly a shit hole, every other day there would be a fight in the halls and random people would get in trouble for doing noting, one time a kid got punched in the face and the kid that did it didnt get in trouble at all. And the teachers assistants are a whole other deal, lots of classes have them and they do nothing but degrade students for "not doing anything right" the only good thing to come out of this school is the football team read more

As much as I'd like to say that the school was competent in achieveing even the most basic of educational purposes it is not within my grasp to say that they have accomplished much of anything as of recent memory. The school administration that has taken over seems to view the students as nothing more than sheep that need to be put back into their pen instead of actual human beings. The administration commonly dismissed the concerns of teacher and students alike while just ignoring criticism and instead surrounding themselves with yes men. There are a multitude of reasons as to why this school deserves the rating, such as ignoring the efforts of teachers that actually try to accomplish their job to the best of their abilities. I would rate this school as zero out of 5 but am not allowed to by the platform. read more
