CLEAN Bathrooms on site Clean campground in general. CON's WiFi is ONLY available in the room next to the office AND will not reach the campground. This is a PRO obviously but for some it would not be especially if you have kids. SPOT 30 has electrical hook up but bring an extension cord with you. Also, if you have dogs, spot 30 isn't the spot for you. This is right in the heart where everyone walks by with their dog's, kids flying by on the bikes, and Wheelers. All of the people coming in, tow their campers right by you which makes for a dusty environment. Additionally, very very limited privacy. EVERYONE can see what you have or are having for dinner. Overall, great campground. I recommend but do not recommend site 30!

Don't sleep on this campground the fishing is good, the eagle watching incredible, areas of water that are safe for the kids to play. The owners and camp host are incredible and truly care about your experience during your stay. Tyler is an incredible guide, kids think he is hilarious. Sites and charters are reasonably priced, cannot say enough good things. Already booked for next year, thanks for the memories guys! Also my use of the word incredible is intense I know, but it's just that good!

Compliment sandwich format:…read more This place is remote, even for Alaska, but the road out to it is in great shape, even on the winter. The Lake Louise Lodge does not respond to email inquiries for rates, you need to call. We checked in at night, and the bar was bustling. There were lots of people dancing to live music, there was not a single mask in sight. This should terrify most but, sadly, masks have been made political by people that trust politicians more than they trust scientists. We got Room #2, dubbed "Old Timers". It bordered the kitchen and was really loud, great for me (I'm a sound sleeper), but probably not for the average Old Timer. There was a sauna in the room, with instructions. It would've been a great respite from the -20 temps outside. But it was stuffed with supplies, and looks like it hasn't been used in years. Maybe take down the sauna instructions, then? The room was $131.25, including taxes. It was a warm room to stay in, with a private bathroom. But that's about it. On the plus side, this is probably the darkest place within a 3 hour drive of Anchorage (in fact, I found it by looking at a light pollution map of Alaska). And we were lucky enough to catch an absolutely incredible northern lights show!

It is a tastefully decorated two story open architecture that beckons one to explore the common sitting areas and balconies. The large modern kitchen offers all the gadgets needed to create your own meals or munch on the many snacks and juice provided. There is free WIFI,no TV. Guests can entertain themselves with a shuffleboard table, reading books, or playing a variety of instruments found throughout. We enjoyed the well tuned piano and guitar! There's also a fine massage chair! The wood stove offers a great place to toast your ...feet. The whole place is clean and inviting. After a hot shower we hopped into a soft bed. It's soooo quiet! You'll sleep like a baby. Our host invited us to make ourselves at home and use any food stuff for breakfasts or snacks. Plenty of Keurig coffee and tea. We made eggs and English muffins for breakfast. We were the only guests. Not that many tourists in November. Those of you in route to Valdez, McCarthy, Tok, Canada, Delta Junction this is a perfect place to stay and rejuvenate instead of pushing through. Or, the cabin could be a great place for hunters, fisher people, or friends and families to just plan a fun getaway. RV folks should park it and enjoy a night ' at an Alaskan 'home.' The prices are reasonable. I believe we paid about $189 for the night. It was worth it. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Can't believe this gem has been hosted by the same great hosts for 12 years!

My fiancé and I booked a room at this lodge for an ice fishing trip this past New Years! The other…read morelodge on lake Louise which we had stayed at once before was booked and we had to find other options which brought us to this lodge. It was a blessing in disguise because this lodge was exponentially better! This is a family run business and their hospitality was excellent. From giving us pointers where to ice fish, making a complementary breakfast for guests in the morning, to just chatting with us on how they got to be the lodge owners. They were genuinely nice people! They did a fun auction for New Years and were giving out awesome prizes, we actually ended up winning an awesome hunting and survival knife kit! We are big on ice fishing and it was cool that almost everyone there was there to ice fish like us and we had a good time meeting other couples and groups and talking about what everyone was catching and using for bait and where they were on the lake! We got one fairly large lake trout and two huge burbot not even 50 yards from the front of the lodge. (Which was nice because we don't have a snow machine) We booked the queen size bed room and were very pleased with the accommodations. We are local Alaskans and don't have incredibly high expectations but the bed was comfortable enough for us and the room was basic but perfect for what we were using the lodge for. We would highly recommend this lodge and we plan on going back!

The main visitor center for Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. So much of Wrangell-St. Elias is…read moreremote and requires greater planning than is typical for a national park. But this visitor center is easily accessible, has multiple activities including a theatre, exhibit hall, and a cultural center. Plenty of rangers were here to help with your visit. As I said, this park is more remote so definitely requires more planning that is typical of a national park. While we didn't do it, there is also a small hike starting at the visitor center that does take you into the national park and gives you a nice view of the Wrangell mountains. Clean bathrooms, water bottle refill stations, and free wi-fi. All come in handy, especially if you're continuing on to McCarthy because there aren't that many services along the way. Nice visitor center, and a good stop when you're visiting the national park.
