We stayed at Red Eagle Lodge in July 4th, 2010. It was one of the best places we stayed on our Austin to Alaska road trip. Aside from being incredibly comfortable, the owners were so nice! My husband and I are kind of awkward with strangers, but we didn't feel any of that with the owners. (I'm ashamed to say I don't remember their names, but it has been almost 7 years - wow...) I couldn't recommend them any higher. read more

Red Eagle Lodge - It was raining a little when we were getting ready to go - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Chistochina, Alaska

Super-clean, charming, great value and peaceful. Hosts and owners Judy and Richard set out a great breakfast and make sure you have all you need. Pet-friendly, spacious and a great place to set up base camp for exploring the Copper River Valley (Kennicott, McCarthy, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Valdez). They keep the teakettle on the stove and the coffee fresh. You can lounge in the great room, use the Free Wi-Fi or sit around a campfire (complimentary wood). You can even pin your home city on their world map and find out where other guests have hailed from. read more

What an amazing place! Richard and Judy were super friendly and wonderful hosts. My girlfriend and I were just passing through but decided to stay an extra day here. So peaceful and close to the national park. The washroom was crazy cool. Thanks for the breakfast! read more

We really enjoyed our short stay at Red Eagle Lodge. The cabins, while rustic are well appointed and comfy! Even though you have to walk to the bath house, it's got lots of room and privacy (and lots of hot water!!!) We were lucky enough to have Richard cook hot breakfast in the morning. What a treat! He and Judy are great hosts in a remote spot. Thanks for being pet friendly! We would definitely stay there again! read more

Beautiful accommodations in a tranquil setting. The cabin I stayed in was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and while it did not have plumbing the communal bath house offered a lovely rugged feel with all the modern amenities. The continental breakfast offered all the coffee I could drink (I drink a lot) as well as hardy food that fueled me for my days adventures. Highly recommend stopping in this roadside stop for a good nights sleep or a few days to find adventure alongside or in the Wrangell- St. Elias National Park. read more

Stayed at Red Eagle Lodge September, 2017. Knocked on their door in the PM without a reservation and they put us up in a cabin with a kitchen. Very nice cabin, grounds interesting with historic buildings. New bathhouse is 5-star. Breakfast spread delicious. In-keeps friendly and helpful with local information and directions. A good place to stay when making day trips to local sights such as the nearby national park. Will visit again! read more

As good as it gets! A trip to Red Eagle Lodge is a special trip. Wonderful for friends and family or just relaxing. A great place to stop on the Tok Cutoff and open year round. Wonderful historic cabins and RV sites along with the nicest bathhouse I have ever seen. Comfortable beds and the best deal I have found in all of Alaska. Family friendly, pets welcome, activities abound. Adjacent to an airfield and quite possibly the friendliest and most knowledgeable hosts (Richard and Judy) you will ever find. read more
