EXCEPTIONAL OUTFIT!!!! What else can I say about Mark and AKXpeditions! BY FAR the best there is! My wife and my friends have fished with Mark EVERY YEAR! We wont and will not go anywhere else! Mark is extremely professional and has the best equipment there is! I personally have witnessed Mark save numerous people in danger on the copper river, even if it cuts into his fishing time. A lot of people owe Mark for his safety and his assistance and not once has he expected anything in return. If you don't do well on the river, (which has never happened to us) he makes it right somehow. No other service does that! He loves what he does and has dedicated his life to it! Safety while having fun is his number one priority! He knows that river and is an awesome dude! Do not pay attention to any negative review, it has no merit. This comes from 5 years of my returned loyalty and many fishing trips! Safest and best boats on the water! Go with Mark or Cody and you will get em!! Either guide or boat is awesome and ontime!! get ready to fish! They love catching fish and will make you laugh and eager to help! I'm booking for next year really soon! I put my name on it ..Justin read more

I wanted to take my family dip netting, as none of us have ever done it before. The Copper River is legendary for the fishing, but can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Therefore, I booked AK eXpeditions to ensure a fun and SAFE experience. The equipment, captain, and deck hand were great! I felt totally comfortable having my wife and sons there (10 and 12 years old) fishing with me. Everyone caught fish, even though we were all newbies. My only complaint about the day was finding the boat. The launch site had changed from the original instructions, and it wasn't clear to me were to go. Driving your vehicle on the river bank is super sketchy and chaotic. I ended up running up and down the river bank for 30 minutes looking for the crew. It would be better to meet clients at an easily identifiable location on the main road, and then personally escort them to the right location . . . particularly when someone is forking out the money to reserve the whole boat. read more

A buddy and I have taken Mark's charter three years running now and we'll do it again this year. Mark and his crew work hard to put you on fish, we've always done well and have been pretty fortunate. It is a lot like fishing anywhere - when there are fish in the water, it is great! If there aren't any fish in the water, it is not so great. So, you pay your money and you take your chances. For the price of the charter, gas, five hours on the river, and a solid day of processing fish afterwards, we end up with a freezer full of fish for the whole year. After that, the rest of the summer I can just fish for fun. It is a pretty remarkable opportunity if you ask me. read more

Just fished (Dipnetting) with AKeXpeditions and let me tell you...WOW! Like a HUGE WOW! From the trip out there to the actual fishing, all I can say is book now! Mark and Erica run one of the best fishing outfits I've ever seen. From the tent and RV camping, to a full-service grill, coffee bar, transportation to and from the boat launch and a fish processing set-up second to none, you will have the best time of your life. And don't forget about the fleet of boats and liscensed captains that are beyond professional and will put you on the fish. I'm booking now for next year!! read more

My wife and I booked a trip with Mark last summer and what an awesome adventure it was. Very professional and FUN guide Mark is and he will work his A$$ to get fish in your net....after that it's up to you to feel.the fish and put them in the boat . No worries though, Mark will show you the proper technique for dipping from a boat on the Copper River before you even venture on the water. He genuinely wants his customers to ha e a good time and I can surely attest that we certainly did. Look forward to spending more days on the river with AK Expeditions!!! read more

Me and a friend went to chitna to dipnet for salmon off the bank. There's only a few locations you can dip net there without tying yourself off on a steep bank. After 3 hours and only catching 1 fish, we decided to try AK Expeditions. Wow what an experience! We limited out with 160 fish for the boat in 45 minutes and every one caught a king! I had a 35 lb king myself. I will gladly book a charter to spend more time with family and friends and less being underwhelmed. These guys know s was hat they're doing. You won't regret booking them. read more

This weekend (7-7-18), we went on our 3rd trip with AK-eXpeditions. We LOVE them. They are fantastic! They provide everything you need, except rain gear and gloves. They'll even fillet and vac-seal your fish for you if you want! Dipnetting from a boat is SOOO fun - I don't think I'll ever try it from the shore! The last 2 years, the owner, Mark, was our guide. He's great! This year, our guide was Cody, and he was funny, cool, and so helpful! Book with AK-eXpeditions, and I promise you, you won't be sorry! read more

Mark and the crew are fantastic! They always go above and beyond to make sure that we have a great time out on the river, Captain Mark is a very safe and professional river runner, there is no other charter company I would go on the Copper River with. AK eXpedition is the original premier Copper River dipnetting charter company and they fill freezers with salmon when the other guys leave you scooping water. read more

Experience the very best on the Copper or Kenai River! Capt Mark and his crew are 'Tier 1' in anyone's book. Sure, you always catch a lot of fish with AK eXpeditions, but the overall experience of great music, majestic scenery and of course, the black (and silver) beard, are ever present. Mark, you and your entire organization are first class! p.s. Erica is a force multiplier for your team! read more

Wonderful people! Good neighbors even for folks not paying for a charter. When we got our boat stuck in the shallows opposite the bridge, their staff rounded up help, and added their own muscle to helping us get our boat back in the water. We would have had a lot of trouble without their help. Very grateful for the attitude, and the help from the staff at AK eXpeditions! read more

Year 5 using AK Expeditions to fish the Copper River. The crew is knowledgeable, entertaining and quick to get your fish out of the net and back in the water. Their boats are fast and the means less time getting back up river. It makes a big difference, especially when the fish numbers are low. No chance I'd use any other service on the Copper River. read more

I highly recommend AK eXpeditions to experience an amazing Alaskan experience. Mark is extremely knowledgeable and Erica always makes sure we are well taken care of. Dip netting with these guys is well worth the price and always a fun time. I will always book with them to get my stockpile of fish for the season. Thank you Mark and Erica! Geoff Boyda read more

We have been going g out with captain mark for years. The crew is very knowledgeable, personable, and they know what they are doing. They do everything they can to get you on fish. We always feel safe with them knowing how dangerous the river can be. I would highly reccomend them to anyone who is able to dip net. You'll have a great time. read more

Capt. Mark and all the staff at AK eXpeditions once again did not disappoint our outing with them. Even during our COVID-19 pandemic, Capt. Mark and team did there best to get us on fish. Although we didn't limit out this year, the campground, boat and team did not disappoint us. We rented the boat and palm to do it again next year. read more

We went out dipnetting with AK eXpeditions in the summer of 2018 and had a great time. The equipment and crew were top notch. We pulled in our limit including a nice King, and we ate Copper River salmon for a year. We would definitely go again. It was much better than clinging to a rock on the shore. read more

We have chartered AK eXpeditions to take us dipnetting on the Copper River for the past three years. I am nervous around water and this is the only way I will do it since the river is so fast. Mark makes the experience fun while keeping us safe. I highly recommend. read more

Top notch! Best fishing experience on the Copper River. Captain Mark and his knowledge of the river and bringing us to the fish, music playing and just overall an excellent experience. You won't get that anywhere else on the copper river. I highly recommend AK-X! read more

The only way to dipnetting on the Copper River. Bring your empty cooler and they do the rest ( except actually catch the fish). The entire staff is very friendly and professional. This is my third year in a row and it is the only way I would ever go dipnetting. read more
