Also, if you have dogs, spot 30 isn't the spot for you. This is right in the heart where everyone walks by with their dog's, kids flying by on the bikes, and Wheelers. All of the people coming in, tow their campers right by you which makes for a dusty environment. Additionally, very very limited privacy. EVERYONE can see what you have or are having for dinner. Overall, great campground. I recommend but do not recommend site 30!

Wrangell-St. Elias quickly became one of my favorite national parks we've visited. Despite it being…read morethe largest American national park, since so much of the park is remote, it's hard to see the vast majority of it. Visiting Wrangell-St. Elias required more than our typical planning since it is so remote. A lot of rental car companies will prohibit their cars from driving on McCarthy Road, so we had to find a specialty company to book with who would also provide us with a spare tire just in case. Gotta say, arriving to McCarthy Road and seeing the massive warning sign made me even more nervous, but we got so lucky - the road was so incredibly easy to drive. We found out later that it been graded less than a week before we showed up. The drive was so beautiful that it made the two hours fly by. McCarthy itself was such an incredible town to spend time in. We didn't get to fully explore because we showed up so late in the season that a lot of places were already closed. But the historical bits we could see were fascinating. We ended up booking a flightseeing tour with Wrangell Mountain Air - the park is so large and diverse, we wanted a chance to get to see it all. And it was so incredibly gorgeous and so worth it. If you have the ability to do it, I'd highly recommend it. Make sure to head on over to Kennecott to explore and learn about the old mining town. Grab some food at The Potato - so delicious! We booked an airbnb in McCarthy. It was easy to park on the other side of the foot bridge. We just brought backpacks, and it was an easy mile walk into the town. I heard there were shuttles, but the walk was easy and we honestly never saw one during our walk into the town. Definitely recommend against bringing any roller suitcases. There's a few hikes we would've liked to do if we had the time (and we're already exhausted from the hikes we'd done before coming). If you have the chance to really visit this park, I'd highly recommend it. It's so incredibly gorgeous and has so much to offer.

Each room has its own porch with chairs or rockers so you can enjoy the views of the snow capped mountains or just listen to the sounds of the beautiful Copper River. They have a large recreation room with a pool table, large screen TV and refrigerator for your use and a very well equipped exercise room. A very clean quality grill and all needed implements are available for your use to cook a dinner of your own fresh caught fish or items from the grocery store in nearby Glenallen (20 min drive). The owners are very knowledgeable and can also offer some guide services or answer your questions about the area. Your host, the Neal family is amazing!

It is a tastefully decorated two story open architecture that beckons one to explore the common sitting areas and balconies. The large modern kitchen offers all the gadgets needed to create your own meals or munch on the many snacks and juice provided. There is free WIFI,no TV. Guests can entertain themselves with a shuffleboard table, reading books, or playing a variety of instruments found throughout. We enjoyed the well tuned piano and guitar! There's also a fine massage chair! The wood stove offers a great place to toast your ...feet. The whole place is clean and inviting. After a hot shower we hopped into a soft bed. It's soooo quiet! You'll sleep like a baby. Our host invited us to make ourselves at home and use any food stuff for breakfasts or snacks. Plenty of Keurig coffee and tea. We made eggs and English muffins for breakfast. We were the only guests. Not that many tourists in November. Those of you in route to Valdez, McCarthy, Tok, Canada, Delta Junction this is a perfect place to stay and rejuvenate instead of pushing through. Or, the cabin could be a great place for hunters, fisher people, or friends and families to just plan a fun getaway. RV folks should park it and enjoy a night ' at an Alaskan 'home.' The prices are reasonable. I believe we paid about $189 for the night. It was worth it. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Can't believe this gem has been hosted by the same great hosts for 12 years!
