However when she requested to see the end of year books as its a member funded club she was denied them and attacked and bullied. Pathetic behavior. This used to be a lovely quiet pool enjoyed by everyone. It definitely had problems everyone would agree, broken glass, kids running, all rules posted on the wall but none followed. Drinking beer and eating in the pool on large floats. Loud music. Its very sad that people behave this way, or that parents allow their children to behave this way. Judging by the remarks of the manager or chairperson its really a low bar he has set for himself so probably not so surprising. I have happily attended many events here over the years and used the pool for 15 years but decided to change memberships as a result of this type of treatment of members. The environment is welcoming for a little one who is easily stressed. We have Coach John, who I can't say enough positive things about, his patience soars to the sky. My son has had many whining episodes with tears and purely wanting to quit but Coach John never gives up. He has a way with children to make them excited about learning. He has gained my son's trust and always finds a way to make him successful. There is nothing more rewarding as a parent watching my son get out of the water beaming with pride because he accomplished a skill that he thought was unobtainable. I was surprised to read the post on here describing a terrible trip to Crystal River, Florida. We were on the same trip and had a completely opposite experience. We had a memorable and fantastic time. I appreciated the time that Coach John and the owners of Sharkie's prepared us with a well thought out itinerary and for insuring that we had all the equipment necessary. On the day of each activity, I knew exactly where to go and never had to run out to get something we forgot to bring. The particular weekend we visited was the annual Manatee festival so the area was quite busy. I appreciated the block of rooms set aside for us so I didn't have to worry about hotels being full. Coach John was thorough to explain everything to be expected that our son didn't shed a single tear out of fear. His expertise and passion for scuba has made my husband and son excited to participate in the sport. I always say, we are grooming the next Jacques Cousteau. Sharkie's has taught my son valuable life lessons to enjoy and respect the water safely. I can't say enough about this facility, the staff, and the owners. They are such a great part of our community.

I've never experienced anything like what happened at the LA Fitness in Austell yesterday…read more(11/10/2025). While I was using the Smith machine, another patron walked up, put his bag down, and when I told him I was using it and had two more sets left, he went and told a manager -- Omar. A few minutes later, Omar came all the way from the front of the gym to interrupt my workout and ask me how many sets I had left, apparently to "make sure everyone can use the equipment." What's strange is that there's another Smith machine right behind me that was also occupied, but Omar didn't ask that person anything. When I pointed that out, he said, "We don't have to do that." That made it clear he was only addressing me because someone complained. Then he told the other patron to "just hop on whenever she finishes her two sets." Not when I was done -- but specifically after two sets -- as if a manager can dictate when someone's allowed to use a machine they're already on. To me, that's completely unprofessional. Everyone in the gym pays the same monthly fee. If a machine is in use, you wait your turn -- that's basic gym etiquette. I don't expect special treatment, and I definitely don't expect a manager to interrupt my workout because someone didn't want to wait. If capacity is an issue, the gym should add more equipment. But targeting a member mid-workout to accommodate someone else isn't fair or respectful. The way Omar handled the situation showed a real lack of tact and impartiality. I've always believed gyms should be about mutual respect and shared space, but this experience really left a bad impression. Hopefully, LA Fitness takes this seriously and makes sure managers treat all members equally.
