BBQ Banh Mi Bowl

Just what I was looking for! Great food, good atmosphere, and friendly service. You can't beat the price, here for work from California and would have paid a lot more at home.

Nikko salad

There have been a few issues when I order my food. Food is usually good but in several occasions the order was missing something, also customer service is not great. This time they forgot to put avocado in my Nikko Salad and when I asked for it they were not happy to help even tho It wasn't my fault, and because of that they gave me just a few little pieces of avocado.

Brown rice bowl with 1/2 poke & 1/2 tofu, edamame, jalapenos, green onion, ginger, wonton strips, avocado, mango, and spicy aioli

Great spot if you're looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch or something to take home for dinner. It's a great alternative to greasy/heavy/fried food, and you can pick and choose what you want. I ordered the 1/2 poke 1/2 tuna bowl and was really pleased. The poke tasted awesome and the tofu was a great add in. The spicy aioli had just enough kick and went really well with the tuna. I really liked that I could build my own bowl, and I took full advantage of all the toppings - the wonton strips and avocado topped off the bowl perfectly. I will definitely be back and will be adding a scoop of crab to my order since I had severe fomo from my co-workers bowl.

a bowl of noodles and tofu

So disappointed. I am recovering from surgery and have been craving a Tofu bowl. Ordered it tonight and this was the absolute worst. Mostly noodles, Tofu was burned, it had no broccoli, red peppers, or peanuts. It had only two leaves of spinach and they were beaten up, five pieces of zucchini, and two water chestnuts. This bowl was proof that they stopped caring about quality. This was absolutely a waste of $15.

Pretty tasty. Wouldn't eat it every day but in the area and we were hungry. Definitely a good lunch spot for a treat. Health options. Filling but doesn't break the bank. Noddle wise I wasn't personally thrilled. Veggie so I tried their sushi option and it was tasty. Not something I would get regularly though. The girl at the counter made suggestions to us. Flavors and the difference of menu items. Much appreciated! Food came quickly. Store was clean. Indoor and outdoor seating. Likes the bamboo decor. Obviously by the logo it's a chain but it felt like a local in town spot with a few locations. Wasn't tasting overly processed. Not one for soy sauce or cock sauce I have pho. I got a spicy sauce and it tasted fairly meh. Maybe my palette isn't so refined. But bring your friends. Quick lunch area. The bento box seemed a better choice than the bowl. A lesson for next time I suppose. Probably try this again with visiting friends or family. Not sure if I would go solo again. Probably try lark burger next door or even the Taco Bell close.

How to make a roll with this?

The salad could not have been worse. Over half of the greens were rotten - black and slimy. Inedible.

Delivery sushi might have a weird reputation. I mean, you think of beautifully presented fresh fish on fancy plates. Well sometimes that's just unrealistic. Mika Sushi has great Yelp reviews and they're not far from our house. We ordered them on DoorDash and we were stuffed after dinner! When I say stuffed...these were some of the LARGEST sushi rolls I've ever had. Normally I can house two specialty rolls, and these were LOADED to the brim. My mouth was barely wide enough to down these GIANT rolls in one bite (keep it PG). Mexican Roll ($16.95) // spicy yellowtail, cucumber, salmon and jalapeño. A little heavy handed on the sauce. Spicy, savory, tasty. Godzilla Roll ($17.95) // spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, avocado, tuna, seared salmon, special sauce. Loaded with flavor, well balanced, filling. Rock Shrimp ($10.95) // fried shrimp with creamy sauce. Their take on bang bang shrimp. These were good, but would've been even better fresh out the fryer at the restaurant. Simple, easy, can't go wrong. I have to reiterate that these were maybe the BIGGEST sushi rolls ever. I don't know if it translates in the photos. Normally a sushi roll is sliced into 8 pieces; these could've been 10 or 12 pieces! I am full just thinking about this meal! Will have to check out the actual restaurant one of these days. Thanks for filling our bellies on a cold winter night.

Located in a very non descript strip center, Mika is serving up some of the best sushi bites I have ever had. (FYI.... my last meal on earth will be sushi.... so I have a take out menu with me!). Mika is a friendly little sushi place with a modest menu with very very reasonable prices. My bff and I headed there (at my request) for our last meal of 2024....... let's celebrate I told her. So we sat back in our seats, ordered up some sake and wine and got to it. First up, their 8 piece sushi plate with a California Roll, soup and salad for $20.99. That's right 8 pieces, a roll, soup and salad.... a killer deal.. The pieces were very nice size and extraordinarily fresh. I don't really love a CA roll (but my bff does).... and Mika's was really nice. But the biggest surprise was the miso soup..... I think there was fairy dust in it. It was sooo perfect.... I don't usually order soup (fills me up and I can't more fish). Okay, next (that 8 piece is gonna be hard to beat). We ordered the Arvada roll. We are in Arvada, just seemed appropriate (and extremely kitschy!). The waitress delivered a 10 piece roll on a platter (not a plate). Inside spider, mango, spicy tuna and avocado wrapped with soy paper. I love soy paper! This roll was lovely, plentiful amount of fish with the perfect sweet spicy combination.... wow! Gonna be near impossible to beat this one... but nooo..... Next up, the Godzilla roll with spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, avocado inside, topped with tuna, salmon seared with special sauce. The flavor was amazing, a light smokey seared salmon kinda stole the show.... but this roll came together in perfect harmony of flavors. Oh dear I am stuffed, but I WANT MORE. Next time I guess.....

The experience truly begins with the reservation, where you are asked a series of questions from your familiarity with sushi, fish preference, appetite level, and so on. On the date of, you are led to a private room in the back, Denchu Den, which is a simple, private sushi bar for up to 4 guests. Then, Chef Yasu comes out for a truly intimate experience, one that is extremely rare to come by, even in Japan. It is truly just your party and the chef as he prepares some truly epic bite. And the menu is not set, it really depends on your personal taste, and the food continues basically until you tap out. As such, there is no set price, though typically we run up about $150-200 a person. It's a 2 hour experience during which you get to experience that Japanese hospitality with chef Yasu. We talked with him about his home, learned about his experience in Denver, and he provided some fun facts about sushi and Japanese in culture in general. I cannot praise this truly unique experience enough, and, in fact, we have been back here every single year. The cherry on top is that as you return, Chef Yasu starts to remember your preference and even past conversation. And it does not end there. Based on our conversation where I discussed my next Japan trip, Chef Yasu even took time to send us an email with his recommendations. Toro nigiri - on the "fresh from Japan" menu. Kinda fell flat - not bad, but didn't have much of that melt your mouth, buttery flavor. Mikan himachi nigiri - on the "fresh from Japan" menu. They do charge a bit more than your typical AYCE sushi spot, but the quality absolutely justifies it. The rolls are beautifully balanced -- fish, avocado, rice, everything in harmony -- and I was impressed that hardly any of them relied on imitation crab as filler, which is something I see far too often elsewhere. The sashimi and nigiri selection is excellent as well, and personally, I gravitated toward the sashimi to avoid the carb overload that comes with nigiri. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was no wait. The restaurant is spacious, and our server was incredibly attentive. She walked us through the process and the rules, making the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. The rolls themselves were fantastic -- thoughtfully crafted and delicious. I especially enjoyed the Naruto roll, wrapped in cucumber instead of rice, which was a refreshing change. We ordered about five rolls, including the Naruto roll, plus crab wontons, sashimi, and dessert, and I can confidently say we got our money's worth. I highly recommend this place.
