This place is gross I spent about $30 on 2 combos and 3 bubble drinks and I'm left with so many negative things to say about this place, the taste of fried rice and noodles alike is a generic chicken bullion, there's nothing hibachi about the grilled shrimp or chicken I ate, and the bubble teas taste like powder, that grids buildup just stays in the back of your throat this place is garbage, do not waste your money here, just back back to the buffet behind it and get a combo to go or drive to Panda Express down the street. We placed an order in side for carry out and our food was ready pretty quickly. Food was delicious and portions were large. We tried a few appetizers and they were all delicious. The inside of the restaurant was empty of diners but the tables were clean and organized. There was a steady flow of people coming in to pickup orders so you can still eat inside and have privacy with their layout. Very glad we tried and will be recommending as well! read more

Tokyo Express is located about half a mile from where I work. I have been there a couple of times on my lunch break, and it is really good. The first time I went, I had a California Roll and seaweed salad. The second time I went, I had chicken fried rice and crab rangoons. Everything I've had from there was amazing. The portions are decent sized, so you definitely get what you pay for. I've only gone through the drive they because the dining room was closed because of Covid. The wait time was longer than expected, but that's ok because everything was freshly made. I definitely recommend this place if you like Japanese food. read more

Omg, this place was mind blowing. Today was my first time here and I was expecting some boxed up takeout food. What I got was something totally authentic and definitely from scratch. Very good simple Fried Rice for just the right price (even after inflation). Dishes are large in size and you are guaranteed a filling serving every visit. Sushi was kind of on the soggy side so I would recommend going elsewhere if that's what you're craving. If you want some good ol' rice or noodles: Tokyo has you covered. read more

Finding fast food vegetarian or vegan options can be difficult. Earthburger is my favorite fast food vegan option and Tokyo Express is another spot I frequent for fast vegetarian options. I have had the Hibachi double vegetables with noodles several times and I have been pleased. Although not perfect it is reasonable, served fast and hot by pleasant people. No good. Being from Honolulu with a Japanese restaurant on every other block alternating with a small Chinese hole-in-wall restaurant, we know Asian food. This place is a Chinese prepared food place hiding out behind Japanese names. All stir fried slightly greasy mixed veggies/rice or noodles. The worse is their tempura. Even the Ala Moana fast food court booths have better tempura, thin and flaky without a hint of grease. To make matters worse, this place ain't cheap for a bowl filled with mostly rice/noodles with a superficial greasy layer of small chopped unrecognizable vegetables and some of the tempura shrimp, etc, cost around ten bucks. You can eat all you want for the same price right across their parking lot My final advice...don't buy stock in this company. read more

UPDATE: I am just SO happy Tokyo Express is back! I was so sad to see them closed this past month. It is my to go sushi place and I just love them! I will support you as much as I can! This is my fifth time ordering Tokyo Express from Doordahs and I absolutely love it! The Texas roll is yummy and I never thought I would like beef with sushi! If I could I would order every night. This is a new fast Asian food restaurant that open about a month ago in the area on Walzem near where I live so of course I wanted to check out the menu. They offer a good variety but similar to other asian fast food except they have SUSHI!! The restaurant was clean and they had a condiment counter that provided sauces, napkins, straws, etc. So grateful on how polite and helpful the wait staff were when we was ordering. I did check out the restrooms that are human neutral just saying....where very clean and had asian pictures on the wall. Their fast food seems fresh..... I did order the calamari which was very rubbery so no wouldn't do that again.... the shrimp was good and tender as I had ordered it with white rice and veggies. Presentation for fast food there is none to write about here. So for a quick meal the prices are normal under $10. I did not order sushi so I cannot write on quality and favor....but hope it's yummy. Glad there open and hope they make a few changes as all their food should be excellent for their customers that's how a fast food receives 5 stars along with great service and atmosphere ambiance. read more

We went the day after their grand opening. We have been hoping for years that more decent restaurants will open on Walzem. I guess we'll keep hoping, because this isn't it. The food was incredibly bland overall. We tried the main combo, one with chicken and the other with steak. We also got fried calamari balls The fried rice was mealy, the meat chewy. Nothing had good flavor. The calamari balls were a very unappealing texture, but we had never eaten such a thing, so maybe they were done well and just aren't our cup of tea. I wish we'd tried the sushi to know if it was any better. I will say that the service was good, and we didn't get food poisoning, hence the two stars. read more

I was in the area. Went through the drive through tonight, around 9:15-9:30pm. Ordered teriyaki chicken with fried rice, and veggies. Only to drive 25 minutes home to find my meal WITHOUT Chicken. Just mushy rice and veggies! No meat. $12 for rice, veggies and a soda. Didn't think I needed to check my meal before driving off. Especially for an entree with the word "chicken" in it. I know I went close to 10pm closing time but that's no excuse. I would have rather heard "we are out of chicken" instead. Of course everything is closed by the time I get home and realize. Just getting over Covid and I have no food. so here I am at H-E-B getting something quick. Which is what I should have done in the first place! We literally spent 45 minutes waiting to get our food from a drive they at a place called Tokyo EXPRESS. The sushi really good, and the customer service is great, but there's a lot of work needed with the speed of service. We sat in the drive thru for 10 minutes before being asked to pull up to the front. After doing so we still waited another 30minutes before my husband went inside to figure out why it was taking so long. 45 minutes is a ridiculous wait time. read more

Tried out place for the first time and ordered two tempura rolls to test things out. The Blacken Dragon roll and the Tiffany Roll. But that's surely not what I got. What I got was some over-fried food covered in this watery sauce that made the food disgusting. I threw the Blacken Dragon roll away as it was entirely inedible and ate the other one only so I didn't feel I wasted my entire $25. Eggrolls were fine, the sweet and sour sauce that came with it tasted...off. There's no way in hell I would ever eat food from here again. read more
