It is close to the Fort Sam Houston cemetery and golf club. It smells good and both of us were hungry so we got dolsat bibimbop and chicken bulgogi. The side dishes were delicious and hopefully we find a reason to come back since we live all the way on the west side of San Antonio

My in laws are in town so I know we're going to try EVERY Korean restaurant in SATX, lol. This time we visited "Koreana" for the first time and so far, it's one of my favorites from about 7 Korean restaurants we've tried so far. The ambiance is very "homey" and authentic feeling. The food, like I said was 10/10 for me and my Mother in law said this is one of the best , as well. She ordered kimchi jigae and I ordered the spicy pork plate lunch. Our servers were all so nice and attentive. They even gave my daughter a complimentary yogurt drink and my mother in law was chatting in Korean with the servers our entire time there! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a decent Korean food restaurant! :)

Amazing portion sizes and amazing flavor. I always order to-go and my favorite part is the complimentary banchans/side dishes. It's a whole plate of side dishes and they're so unique and flavorful, it's literally a meal itself. The galbi/marinated short ribs are my favorite because they're so tender and sweet. Service is great, the lady that works there looks like she owns the place and she is always friendly and welcoming. Ambiance looks super cozy and homey.

One of the authentic Korean restaurants in San Antonio. Service is the best. You can tell the owner and waitress care about their customers. Lots of Korean eating here which is a good sign. I had seafood pancakes which has a lot of seafood and vegetables. The kimchi stew is also solid. The decor is family style.

Food was good, service was also really good. We would drive all the way to that side of town and drive past other Korean BBQ place for the great service they provide here. Very personable!

It was my first time visiting San Antonio in a long time, and I was craving Korean food. The service here was very nice. They had very appetizing bento sets, but I wanted something simple. I ordered a rice cake/dumpling soup that was pretty good, but I didn't like the kimchi and some of the side dishes. You do get a discount for paying with cash. Overall, it's a decent place.

So yummy and the service was so kind. She even served us soup and gave us a complimentary Yakult. We got the dumpling soup with rice cakes, it was delicious!

You don't have to explore the orient to savor the unique flavors of Korea! Located within a mile of Fort Sam Houston, this unassuming local favorite serves up authentic Korean fare in a bright setting. I walked in on a weekday around 6 p.m. and was seated at a booth by a staff member. Having a high degree of familiarity with Korean food, I already knew what I wanted before I looked at the menu. Yep, you guessed it - Bibimbap - a delicious masterpiece of rice and vegetables topped with an egg sunny side up! If you have a taste for something else, they have a host of other classic Korean dishes that are sure to please! As I was waiting, the server brought out an array of sides (banchan). This included kimchi, cucumbers, fish cakes, among others. My dish arrived steaming hot in a cast iron bowl. I added some spicy sauce and mixed it in the rice and toppings. It was delicious down to the last bite, and the rice had a distinctive crisp at the bottom of the bowl! Overall, I would say the food here is top notch and would highly recommend!

Came around 2pm on a weekday and there were plenty of parking spots and seats. My first impression was how welcoming the staff were. Our waitress was so nice and friendly in recommending foods and making sure we had everything we needed. The samgyetang was flavorful and filling while the galbi lunch special was a great value and tasted amazing. The banchan sides were bountiful and tasty. I'll definitely be coming back to try some other options! The only down side was that we went in summer (June) and it was slightly warm in the restaurant. For those who fear cold AC, it is perfect for you!

Looking for a good Korean restaurant to try, we headed to Koreana Restaurant. There were already several cars parked in front when we arrived. Dad and hubby had the Dole Lemonade, and I had the Lychee Hanjan. Hanjan wasn't sake but tasted a bit similar. We got several dishes to share: Japchae, LA Galbi, and Seafood Soft Tofu Soup. Great flavors with all the dishes! The beef short rib was very tender and tasty. The soup was spicy, so my hubby enjoyed that more. The best part is the ban chan, all the variety of sides from kimchi to cucumber to potatoes.  Koreana Restaurant seems to have been in this neighborhood for quite some time now, but the current owner has had the place for about a year. It's definitely worth a stop here!

    Bibimap

This is the first time going to this spot and it did not miss. I got the bibimap with beef and it was delicious. I do wish it had more meat tho cs it was so good but not much. Still very good. The staff is really nice as well. The cook came out to talk to us and talked to us about Korea and asked if we enjoyed our meals. Felt very cozy in their and welcomed by the super nice lady that took our order and the cook. I wish some of the the prices were a little lower tho, but other than that I loved it!!

    What a mess package!

Delicious and it also came with a side of rice. I give the bulgogi a 9/10 And the hangover soup 10/10 Super delicious

There were 7 different banchan options, and some were great while others were just okay. The fish cake and kimchi cucumbers were good, but others like the kimchi and the bean sprouts could have used more flavor. As an entree, I ordered the spicy tofu soup, but I wish it was a little spicier! The soup also had a stronger seafood/fish taste compared to other tofu soups I've had, which I didn't expect. The service was just okay, not rude but also not excessively nice. I liked how cozy the inside felt with the dim lighting!

Chas Market & Kitchen had been long on my list and since it was minutes away, seemed like the most logical choice. I have constantly heard people sing its praises. I will say I'm not versed in Korean fare. I had previously went to another Korean Restaurant and had a terrible experience. It is somewhere on the outskirts of the Eastside, alongside the highway. From the exterior it feels like a neighborhood convenient store. Once inside the room opens up with ample seating and tables. I noticed the tables that are specifically for their "All You Can Eat" menu but that's for another review. Along the walls are fridges with drinks and little knick knacks. It reminded me of a bodega. After we found a seat a server came and left menus. The menu is really extensive. I decided on their beef bulgogi, again a redo after the previous restaurant fiasco. A hip soundtrack is playing overhead, which I believe gives the place a modern vibe. Before I go on I must include that the server was excellent. I say this as he was very attentive but still able to work the rest of the room. Whenever I go to a new place sometimes I feel an anxiety. My fear is being disappointed and having wasted my time. But my impression is that it is an ultra laid back place. You can leave your Armani suit and Louboutin shoes at home. When the food came to the table it was served on a plate steaming similar to a fajita plancha. The server brought over accompanying small dishes that are meant to be added to the bulgogi. The small dishes contained: kimichi, spicy cucumbers, radish etc. Combining any or all with the dishes heightened the flavors. I think this was the most unique tasting thing I've had this year. In addition if you want a drink you have to choose one from their wall of fridges. I think this might dissuade some patrons but again, the overall experience is like that of a bodega. If you are looking for great Korean food with excellent service by all means go to Chas Market & Kitchen. So far this year this has been the restaurant with the most unique flavors. It is perfect for a date night, friends or with family. And I have to, have to absolutely do their "All You Can Eat" where you cook all items. I'm buying if someone else is doing the cooking.

Skip K-Pot and eat here. YOU WON'T REGRET IT!…read more For starters, the inside of the restaurant is cozy. Very clean, spacious, and you can hear your thoughts. The staff is attentive and our drink orders were taken as soon as we sat. The waitress was patient with us and explained how the all you can eat works. We were used to K-Pot where you just order and order, whereas here you have a limit to what and how much you can order. You are limited to so many items at a time, and we found ourselves actually enjoying that. We were not overwhelmed with too much food and no space. You don't have to get up from your table at all, everything is brought to you. All of the sides they bring you to go with the all you can eat are so thought out and flavorful. The noodles, the cucumbers and the squash, everything. And everything is prepared fresh. All of our sides and soup came out hot and steaming. Not like heat lamp hot, like fresh out of the pan hot. We got the ttekboki, fried dumplings, and vegetable tempura. They were all delicious! Now the quality of the meats here is MILES beyond the chain KBbQ places. All of the cuts were a decent thickness, and were portioned quite well. They were very flavorful. We ordered thinly sliced steak, spicy bulgogi, bbq chicken, and pork belly. All were delicious. We were a table of 3 adults and 2 kids and did not even get a refill on the meats. They also have a smoke vent to help with the grill. We really appreciated that. And we never had to change our grill, because things did not burn. Often at other places they are walking around having to change grills 4-5 times. Overall, this has become our favorite Korean Restaurant. We already have plans to return and bring friends and family. Give this place a try. The food speaks for itself, but the service and people are also awesome. 25 years in business, and it shows!
