Tokyo Bubble Tea is a hit for drinks and a slight miss for food. We're not the usual regulars at this boba spot but we heard about their current Milo promotion that just sounded too tempting not to try.
We were able to try the following drinks:
JCC Milo Milk Tea
Milo Almond Milk Tea
Honeydew Bubble Tea
The Honeydew Bubble Tea has always been a staple. It's consistently good and the flavor is just refreshing! They place a large amount of pearls (both larger and smaller bits!) in it too which is always a kicker.
The JCC Milo Milk Tea was not too bad. We only wished that there was a bit more salted cream that was placed because it tasted more like a regular Milo Milk Tea. But otherwise it wasn't too bad!
The Almond Milo Milk Tea was a winner in my book! The Almond milk tea aspect of it was tasty & not too sweet. There was the perfect amount of Milo powder as well so it didn't overwhelm the drink even after mixing it. I definitely will be ordering this again the next time I stop by.
In terms of food, we ordered the following:
Chicken teriyaki casserole
Takoyaki
The chicken was great. To be honest, it was our wild card. We weren't too sure of how it was going to taste but it ended up being the crowd favorite. The mozzarella was baked and melted so nicely on the rice and caramelized onions. The chicken was also tender and well seasoned.
The Takoyaki was quite disappointing. It was lacking in taste, it had too much breading that it felt like a bread puff. It was not hot, it was probably lukewarm almost cold. There even was a point where we thought if it was just microwaved because the breading was almost soggy.
The atmosphere is very relaxing and cute, great for a place to hang out. Now although the food was not the best, the drinks definitely are worth coming back for! read more
