I've been here a handful of times now (OG Herkimer location and now LF) and one thing that seems to be consistent is the really long wait times for food. And no, I'm not talking about on busy nights, which would be excusable, I'm talking about 5:30 on a Tuesday evening when there's only maybe 2-3 other tables. About every time im there I'm waiting 45mins to an hour for my food, which seems way too long for a night that had few people (and who already had their food out). Additionally, the last 2 times it seems they are almost always out of something, which again can be excused, but I arrived 30 minutes after they opened and they were already out of something.... As far as the actual food goes I do love the flavors and creativity a lot! I like the Asian fusion dishes. I definitely recommend anything with their Thai chicken. What is just more frustrating is the long periods of waiting, especially when it's not during a rush, and the absence of ingredients or sauces. I want to come back again but perhaps maybe just do takeout and order ahead of time. ‍ I hate to leave negative reviews but I'm not the only one who has mentioned or talked about the very long wait times for food orders. What an excellent experience! This place didn't show up on Yelp originally when I was looking for options in Herkimer, and part of my posting is to hopefully change that. It's VERY close to the thruway so would be an easy detour. Came for dinner but would absolutely come again for other meals. Decor and menu is definitely cannibis themed, but it stops there. The food selection is diverse but we went with the Vietnamese options. Pho was a special and it was DELICIOUS! Service was excellent (thank you Tonya!) and the chef even came out to see how we enjoyed the meal. I would love to come back and try more of their options! read more

I've visited Toka Bocca a few times, and the food is pretty good. On Thursdays, they have Vietnamese Pho that I've been wanting to try, but I haven't had the chance to yet. From their pics on IG, it looks authentic and delicious. They also have brunch on Sundays. The service has always been on point whenever I've dined there, and it's usually busy. I would make reservations for dinner on Friday and Sats. The decor is different and unique. The restaurant is an excellent addition to the Herkimer area because it serves a more diverse menu. read more

The truffle fries and the meatballs are both out of this world delicious! The portions are generous, too, Nd everything is nice and fresh. I've had a couple 4-star meals here but this time I was pretty disappointed with the creamy pesto pasta. It tastes good, but where is the pesto? I don't taste basil at all, more like Alfredo flavor. A really tasty Alfredo, but I actually had to rip up tons of basil leaves from the garden to mix in and trick myself. It still lacks the garlicky basil flavor I was craving when I ordered this. Good food, nonetheless... just a bummer when it seems more like the "pesto" is Alfredo sauce with at most about 1/8 tsp of that squeeze-bottle weak basil stuff mixed in, for micro-specks of color. read more

New location, same delicious food! I have been enjoying Toka Bocca for years. The new space in Little falls if very inviting. The food and service were amazing during their soft opening. I would expect nothing less as they transition to regular business hours. New menu items will be appearing at this location making me want to go back again and again. What a fun, funky, and fabulous experience. Sat at the bar and had a lovely conversation with everyone who came behind the bar, including the owner(s) and all the staff. We ordered a couple beers and a starter of brussel sprouts and calamari. We figured why not sample and have lunch for the following day too and got the shepherds pie and toasted caprese salad with shrimp. The food was stellar! Brussel sprouts - I love having something really green on any menu and these were very nicely cooked, not overcooked! The balsamic was there and not overpowering. I ate the rest after we got home it was so good. Caprese salad - another example of green-ish food. The tomatoes, while 'toasted' still had great structure and flavor. The basil was sweet, and the fire grilled shrimp really added an unexpected leveling up to the dish. The Shepard's pie - my best friend said "omg this is life" the pho gravy was so good we got some to go! Beautiful presentation and amazing flavor. Mixing it up with the flavor of pho is brilliant. Calamari - the sauce was delicious and the calamari not over cooked. Very happy camper. We also ate the rest of this after getting home. We will be back. Nice to have something where food and thought toward flavor and fun all mix. There is a little side shop as you enter that offers anything you might desire in the way of the newly legalized sales of THC and also CBD. But, the restaurant does not smell of anything..... and other than fun art and silly names of the food it is like any brilliant collaboration of great cooking and amazing staff. read more

Boy this place is popular and when I walked in I could see why. There's nothing like it in the area. The artwork and decor, right down to the light fixtures, celebrated all things cannabis. I'm assuming although there isn't any cannabis in the food, they are establishing themselves for when that time comes. This place is family friendly. There were several children dining in there while we were there. They didn't drop the ball on the bathroom photo ops. This place knows how to market and is Instagram ready. It was Saturday Brunch but they allow you to order off either menu. However. as the waitress said, the menu options are quite overwhelming to choose from and its better to just focus on one. Literally EVERYTHING sounded amazing. The vibe was great, there was live music going on and the musician was amazing but everyone in my party agreed it was a bit loud for a room that small as we couldn't hear each other talk. Now to the food... beyond the $8 mimosas (kind of pricey for what they were) prices are fair. The most expensive thing on the menu is $18 and in todays economy that's refreshing. The food is presented very well. We'll start with the apps or "munchies" as they call them . We ordered the fried tomato caprese because of a photo they had on their Facebook page. It's a beautiful dish but when it came out it was not the same. Although still visually appealing, It was sitting in a pool of pesto. The tomatoes looked as though they were going to have that satisfying fried crunchy exterior but they were completely soft and mushy. When my fork touched them they disintegrated into the pesto and became inedible. Once the 2 slices of tomato and 2 small pieces of mozzarella were gone I was left with a huge plate of pesto. Very unsatisfying dish from a hunger standpoint. But luckily We had 2 orders of the "famous" spring rolls one with meat and one with vegetable. The dipping sauce was good but very thin so it didn't really stick to the rolls. On the plus side, They weren't greasy. They had good flavor. No complaints. We also got the arancini to share and they were cheesy goodness, nicely plated. For main meals I'll start with the winner...the Pho was delicious! It was well balanced, full of flavor and as I looked around the room I could tell it was a favorite as so many people were ordering it. I did not try The sausage gravy on biscuit that my friend got but she mentioned she was surprised it was was all sausage no gravy. It certainly looked hearty though. It was perfectly mounted on the biscuits with zero overflow so that gives you an idea of the texture. The banana bread French toast was great, however, since banana bread is already so sweet it would be smart to ask for the syrup on the side. It made it a bit too sweet being pour on. Finally the spaghetti and meatballs. Spaghetti was a texture I couldn't get past. Very pasty ,overcooked maybe? Comes with 2 meatballs that were very hard. I almost lost one trying to cut through it. The flavor of the meatball was very garlic heavy and that stuck with me the rest of the day. The pasta and sauce on its own was not very flavorful even with the cheeses grated on top and like I said, I could not get past the mushy texture. First time in my life not bringing my leftovers home. This being said, We didn't even put a dent in the menu. Watching the waitresses zoom by with other peoples amazing looking food enticed us and we have already made reservations for another time to try other things. Yes , it's recommended to make reservations during busy times as this place is PACKED. Not writing this place off, it's just about finding the best food on a very large menu . What a terrible dinner we had. Super slow, over cooked. Wrong dishes. Stinky walk in in the room with us. It was just bad. First they bring us into the "party room" which is just a storage room with the walk-in in there as well. Everytime the walk-in door would be opened, the smell of bad fish would get stronger and stronger to the point of a few members of our group leaving. As we are being seated the server us going over what's is sold out, which is no problem. We all order and after around 30 minutes the food starts coming out in random order from the first dish being dropped off till the last, was over an hour. It was crazy. Then food we didn't even order started coming out. Including dishes we were told were sold out. None of the food was worth what they were asking. It was bland and over cooked. Burnt pork satay. Yum. We ordered recently to have a work event catered and we were blown away by how amazing everything was. The chicken Riggies were hands down some of the best around, the roasted veggies were seasoned perfectly and the fried rice balls were cooked to perfection. Quickly after our work event, several of us ordered additional catering for family events and we will continue to come back. Disappointing! First, though, let me say: the service was good, attentive, friendly. Food: small portions....no salad...no bread. A small bowl of chicken riggies for $18? Seriously? Value: too expensive for what you get! The two of us did not order one of their colorful, fun-looking cocktails, nor did we get dessert. Just one app, two dinners, and water. With tip, over $50! OMG. What a great find! We have been wanting to try this place in Herkimer, after hearing so much about it. We were not disappointed. We had a reservation, and were seated promptly. Our server, Rachel, was simply the best. Our food was hot and obviously fresh. My husband ordered the phish fry, I ordered a veggie rice bowl. Both were great! The greens taste like grass, chicken riggies sauce had a cheese taste like velveeta cheese & the meatballs, taste like store brought. We decided, let's give them another try.
