They didn't replace the dish. I was disappointed in that. I felt they should have. However, the allergy was not disclosed prior.

I've gone there for my lunch around three times these past two weeks and each time I've had a wonderful experience. Their lunch special is super affordable. You can get 2 rolls for the less than I spend for one at many of the other restaurants in Ridgewood. However, despite that, it honestly tastes the best out of many of the places I've gone to. Also, if you are up for spending more, they have a fantastic selection of appetizers and special rolls that you can try again (I recommend the dynamite shrimp). When I go, I normally get the 2 roll option from the lunch menu. Typically, I have the spicy salmon and the spicy tuna rolls when I order that. Regarding those rolls, they are first and foremost delicious. You can tell that fresh their fish is and how much time and dedication they put into their sushi with each bite. Furthermore, they are spicy--but not too spicy. When you have them you are able to enjoy every aspect of the roll without being completely overwhelmed by the spice. Additionally, they add something crunchy to the rolls which take them from just a tasty lunch to a full experience. Most importantly though, the service and ambiance is fantastic. Every time I've been there I've only been treated with kindness and consideration. They are very willing to talk with you about their dishes, share some interesting facts about it (like how they came up with the dynamite shrimp), and more. But the best part about it is that they remember you. That honestly meant a lot to me. I know that this whole review was a lot of me ranting, but I honestly mean it. If you are looking for a nice, quaint, delicious, affordable, and hospitable meal--Blu Sushi is the place for you.

Dipping sauce was light and perfect for the gyozas + Tonkotsu, Shio and Shoyu Ramens - Perfectly cooked thin straight noodle/ramen and all of the broths were all very, very flavorful, but yet not salty at all. Go figure??? We preferred the Shio and Shoyu chicken broths more than the Tonkotsu though. The marinated pork slices were huge and so tender in all of the ramens. Also, each ramen was topped with lots of scallions, onions and bamboo shoots, while the Tonkotsu also had wood ear mushrooms and the Shoyu had a sheet of dried seaweed. + Menu consisted of many other ramen bowls, traditional Japanese appetizers, fried chicken and donburi (rice bowls). THE SERVICE ------------------- + ONLY 1 waitress and she was on point with her service despite it being very busy. She was friendly, quick, came back to check on us and remembered every request we made. It seems more prevalent with the male servers than the females. Our order was made very clear as we actually pointed out our choices. All this was written down in a paper notepad. My wife had a salad to start, and I hade the miso soup. I received my soup quickly, but once again no salad arrived for my wife. We had to remind our server of the ordered salad. He appeared totally confused, but the salad finally arrived after I was long finished with my soup. Then came the entree. My full entree came on time, nicely presented. After a couple of minutes it became uncomfortable obvious that my wife's dinner was not going to arrive. Sure enough we had to remind our waiter that my wife's order was missing. Again he was totally confused and brought over the menu for her to make a selection of her sushi roll. It was like they thought that I was the only one who came there to eat, and my wife was going to sit there and drink tea. The place was not that busy, and the two waiters had nothing to do but look at us. No refills on tea were offered, and we had to ask. No recommendation for dessert was made. The whole thing was like Deja vu all over again from last year. BTW, the place could use a couple of fresh coats of paint. It looks like no money was put into the place in 25 years.
