Digital menus with the day's offerings are available in both French and English. You need to order all of your food (no additions w/o getting back in line) We ordered a combo of their imperial prawns, langoustine, oysters, and sea urchin, along with a bucket of steamed mussels and fries. We were given a buzzer after ordering and food was delivered to the table after we found a seat. Everything we ordered was delicious, super fresh, and well priced considering the tourist-y area. We're on our honeymoon, and my wife and I literally drove across France today (from San Sebastián) because I had my heart set on seafood in Marseille. And after a ridiculous day of various stressful adventures, I can honestly say: WORTH IT. We split the "big plancha" and a couple oysters apiece, and a bottle of the killer house rosé. The oysters were some of the best we've ever had, and the plancha was drenched in herby garlic butter and cooked perfectly with a giant pile of our favorite things. The guys behind the counter were friendly and goofy, and the staff were hospitable and attentive without being pushy or intrusive. They were also really forgiving about our complete inability to speak any useful French, so they'll have my additional undying gratitude for that. All in all, highly recommend! read more

I went here in the evening before dinner time, probably around 5pm. The way you order is in the front, pay at the front and go inside to dine. The fried calamari is a must!!! It's not rubbery, it's seasoned well, and very affordable. despite a pretty large portion, 1 order is still not enough. For the main course we got the grand plancha. It comes with a gazillion mussels and clams, with about 5 jumbo shrimps, some lobsters, 2 razor clam, and a lot of sauce! You HAVE got to get the bread if you order this, not to balance out the saltiness but to absorb the sauce and enjoy it bcs the sauce is just sooo goood! So buttery and garlicy. the overall price is really not bad for fresh catch and in the heart of Marseille. Oh and they have english menu too. read more

Excellent seafood! The clam pasta was one of the best i have tasted, it was flavourful and fresh. We also got the mixed cooked seafood, and grilled vegetables! The mixed cooked seafood had a lot of mussells, would have been better if bigger pieces of crab were added. Also, I would suggest to not buy the the bottled water. Once you get inside and sit down, they have pitchers of water that you can re-fill yourself. So save yourself some euros! read more

Seafood is super fresh and excellent here with great prices. Had their Junior plate with clams, oysters, mussles, conch to begin with then crab soup and grilled sea bass. One of the best seafood experience that I can ever recall. Muscadet wine offered here paired excellent. Will definitely be coming back again. Don't worry about the initial line. Not sure why the reviews are not more favorable for Toineau. This restaurant came highly recommended by our hotel (a 5 star) and Toineau did not dissapoint. Gustav, was an incredible server and we had no less than three wonderful meals here. Freshest seafood around. Great wines and great prices. GO HERE! read more

What an experience. Excellent taste. Really fresh. You pick up your own sea food and they cook for you. Make it easy for for you to order stuff. Excellent wine. Great prices. We were a table of 8 and had our hearts full and the the bill was well under 250€. Lemon tart was excellent. Lobster and the tapas ( mussels, razor clams and shrimps) was good as well. This was a pretty neat place. I understand that it's very touristic but at the same time the food is really good it's got a cool vibe to it. When you first enter you can choose what you want to eat from a bar or you can go to the counter and order and they will deliver i to your table. Prices are a little higher than others. You know it's a great seafood spot when the fish market in front of the restaurant not only sells to the public, but personally makes every raw seafood platter ordered at the restaurant. The raw oysters and steamed moules (mussels) were perfect. Aioli remained on the table the entire meal for dipping with bread or for the French fries. Very casual and a bit touristy, you get fresh seafood the way you want it. Go for the set platters or make your own, choices seem endless and the variety is great. There are a good dozen different oyster variations available at different price points, and they also do grilled prawns and cooked fish and very decent fries. There's always a chance to hit some dodgy seafood - the platters are prepared outdoors, so just give it a sniff test before digging in. read more
