Everyone on staff is friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable. Physical plant has a lot of space. I looked forward to my visits there, and they helped me work through stubborn pain, swelling, and stiffness to regain full function of my hand. I hardly ever needed Ibuprofen. Every table was occupied as I sat and waited for my knee PT appointment to begin. My therapist, Mandar, was awesome in assessing the limited ROM in my right knee. Avoid ATI Physical Therapy! There PT staff try to handle too many clients at once. They record the…read moresame notes for each visit. Fabricate notes for visits that don't happen. Cancel visits or don't show up. Their desk staff is either absent or inept. They bill you for visits that were already paid. Their account practices don't follow general accounting principles. It took me 6 months, 11 calls, and 10 hours of my time to straighten out my account, then given all of their mistakes they threatened to send the account to a debt collector. Again, you will never get better going here and will only have a billing nightmare.

There are so many limitations and restrictions and things that get in the way of a patient and getting what they need. My daughter was given a speech evaluation by Debbie in my home. She was 3 1/2 years old at the…read moretime. The evaluation resulted in my daughter being a year behind with articulating words as she spoke. Debbie's recommendation was for my daughter to get speech therapy at a facility, as my daughter is a real 'wiggle worm'. Debbie recommended a place, but unfortunately my daughter's insurance denied the claim since she did not experience a trauma or birth defect, which caused her delayed speech. In the meantime, Debbie is working with my daughter every week in our home to provide therapy. She does such a FANTASTIC job with my 'wiggle worm' that my daughter gets excited when she knows Debbie is coming and when she arrives. My daughter's speech has definitely improved since Debbie started working with her. Her sentences are longer, she is clearer, and I understand more words when she talks. I could barely walk and had to go down the stairs backwards to keep from falling down them. When I arrived at the facility and after my assessment and first session with Stanley I was walking better. I've been going twice a week now for almost 3 weeks and I'm slowly getting stronger due to the combination of therapy and strength training I'm receiving. I no longer have the stabbing pain down my legs and walking so much better. The facility is not super fancy but the quality of care that you receive is what's most important.

Also, make sure you heed the parking signs. Various DC metro sports memorabilia adorn the walls. When I went they were never too busy and the waiting room chairs are extra wide, like could fit two of me wide. I guess if you're a defensive tackle and you need physical therapy, you don't want to be sitting on a folding chair, so that's fair. The staff knows what they are doing, and I had maybe 3 appointments for a bulging disc in my neck. All the staff that I saw were pretty young, so that made me feel good (and old). Eric gave me some home exercises to do including a sheet of paper explaining what to do. It's very clean in there, and they have a great selection of equipment, but not that you can really choose which one you use, because, you know, you're in there for something specific. If I ever need physical therapy again, I'd definitely go back here.
